...., this place is taking a toll so far.

I'm just happy to see Stoner straight back up there.

Hopefully Nicky gets it sorted as well, I would like to see him put another "Back Yard" move on Whoregay

This is the story of FP1

well hope horhey bike crash / blow up for 5 races than that will be the championship interesting

hahahaha

poor pedrosa...i was just warming up to the guy...hope he has a full recovery

grats to lorenzo

and rossi atop the charts? =( that means he's going to delay getting the surgery done on his shoulder

I won't read too much into this yet - other than at least Rossi is competitive.

Lorenzo hasn't got the new engine yet - obviously because he is down one. Rossi noticed a good improvement.

Going well. He's competitive.

Massive gap to Spies - guess the factory satellite situation makes a massive difference at Motegi.

Happy to finally have a race in almost Sydney time.

Pedrosa's crash seems to have been a TC bug crash -- his throttle remained open, they say.

This ends the title "race". Poor Pedro, we got to feel for him.

But maybe that is not so bad as they say for the show. Now Lorenzo can relax and race more freely, -- and since Rossi looks good, one could even hope for another Rossi-Lorenzo battle.

Maybe with Stoner, Spies and Dovi as spoilers

Well Rossi seems to be doing better, as do Yamaha overall. But who knows where Dani would be had he stayed on. I wonder if Rossi has been milking his injury a bit or if things will get worse as the weekend goes on. He needs to find some pace to get on terms with Lorenzo, considering his pace was bareley better and he already has the new engine. The title fight is as good as over now so it'll be interesting to see how things go now. If 07 is anything to go by Lorenzo just wont bother at all. It'd be nice to see a good result from a home rider in at least one class this weekend.

Congrats Jorge...championship is pretty much done

Wonder if Pedrosa just pushed it too hard too early. He only completed two laps before it happened. What a shame

Nice to see Rossi on motogp.com's homepage again

Lets see what tomorrow brings

Hayden indicated he had a brake problem to start off practice and lost a lot of time dealing with that. After he gets that sorted and starts getting into a rythm he low sides and looses more time. He seemed optimistic that he can recover tomorrow and he and his team have some clear ideas on how they will improve, so like always, Hayden fans have to wait and see. Go 69!

Watching Spies in Motegi interview - they asked him what he thought of the track and he

danced around the question like a Mexican at a hat dance. Clearly - he doesn't think much

of the layout at Motegi.

Honda has revealed that a problem with the throttle cable caused the accident that left Dani Pedrosa was a broken collarbone and almost certainly ended his MotoGP title hopes.

It almost had to be something mechanical . They were tooling around at speeds way off the current pace when he went down. But then again, so was Rossi, when he went down. These ....... things have got to go, the sooner the better. I jokingly said yesterday that the riders job these days was hoping and praying sattelite signal wasnt interrupted , it may not be far from the truth.

I know electronic rider aids arent popular but be reasonable if you can manage it. Bikes are far more reliable now than they ever have been and its not the first time a rider has been injured as a result of a mechanical failiure.

Is Lorenzo saving his new engine for the race, or not using it at all this weekend.
