Just to throw out a little bit of bait to feed a conspiracy theory...did anyone notice how fast Dovi was once Dani was out? It seemed to me that as soon as Dani was on the stretcher they loaded up a new map and new TC settings into Dovi's PS3 (a joke to get on board with the TC Anarchists) to allow him to run Dani's typical pace.

Nothing would surprise me. The only reason i wouldnt jump squarely on that bandwagon is my conspiracy theory that Honda is trying to sabotage the remainder of Dovi's season as to get out of their contract with him. If Dovi finishes top 5, he is guaranteed a factory bike and all that goes with it..

Its a real shame and says something about the state of GP for the title to be decided on a injury 5 events from the finale. We only had two contenders left for the title, and one was a real long shot at that. Even factoring in Rossi's injury, 5 events to go, that's just too much.

Rossi looked pretty fast.....I guess he will use his 2 new engines with max power/revs for this and the next 2 races, collect some wins, and miss the final 2 rounds fixing his shoulder.



He will end with a few wins on the Yamaha and a healed shoulder for Ducati in 2011!!

Motegi is really not a top speed circuit, but has anyone noticed that Rossi's Yamaha had the fastest trap speed with the new engine
 
As a wise man said (where are you yamaka?), I think as far back as 2007, no fly/ride by wire throttle and no track position aware engine mapping.



As many of us have been saying, the crash rate in this "safety" formula has beome ridiculous, and is affecting the best riders as much or more than the backmarkers.

The engines can achieve much higher horsepower than they do in race trim when they are limited to 21L. It seems more likely that Honda would turn up the wick on Dovi's bike (500rpm-1000rpm) in order to guarantee that Honda were towards the top of the timing sheets. Inreasing the rev ceiling has reliability consequences, but Honda have got a very reliable engine and saving face is more important to the HRC bosses.



It did appear that Dovi went quite fast after Dani's retirement, but I think the easiest thing Honda could do is turn the power up. We know what Puig would do if Nakamoto sent some some electronics settings over to Dovi's side of the garage.
