Had Stoner not been on Bridgestones in 07 he never would have won a championship. If he never won that championship, his career trajectory most likely would never have landed him on an alien bike that gifted him his second championship.

You've summarized this thread brilliantly! Tires are that important.

The tire manipulation, even by the mechanism of a ........ "vote" has, as you say, far reaching consequence. Had Stoner still been issued 3rd tier Michelins, that #07 championship would have been a farce. And as you suggest, his future prospects may have been grossly underestimated.

Good thing Stoner did have Bridgestone, at very least that helped him mitigation the dog of a Ducati.

The truth? You can't handle it.

While you serially mocked him as a whiner, Stoner has progressively been proven pretty much completely correct about everything he has ever said about bikes and bike racing, and how the sport is run, including more recently as a test rider for both Honda and Ducati, about those bikes and about the Michelin tyre last year.

But he WAS on Bridgestones, actually as a result of Michelin ....... him and others in how they handed out tires. Rossi would have re-signed with Michelin as having tires made especially from your data would be a gig you wouldnt want to end. He would have been locked into a contract with Michelin as the Stones just got better and better and hence my statement, Stoner would have dominated
