Michelin® Australian Motorcycle GP 2016 Nicky Hayden extravaganza with spoilers

He is awesome! I would never do this sober. It's so cool he knows how to enjoy himself no matter the situation....dancing with locals on Bali, singing in Indonesia, writting kanji in Japan...He does not hold back. With him there is no: "I won't do/try that".

Hahaha, He has defiantly got the biggest balls in the MotoGP paddock, both on and off the track.

That was shocking!!! :D

I wonder what's the relationship like with Cal and Honda. He doesn't seem all too pleased with them.

Here's an excerpt from Kropotkin's site.

"A factory bike isn't going to happen," he told reporters. "I'm happy with my team, but maybe I deserve more support from my factory. When I rode for Yamaha, I had good support from the factory and got offered a contract to stay again. We get good support, but I think they should be helping me more, and LCR as a team more." He also dropped a few hints at the tensions between the factory and satellite teams. "It's disappointing to win a race and not see the boss at the press conference, because if you were in another factory, they would be there. I know there are people there internally that really help me, and that there are people internally that don't like them for doing it."

Honestly, I think this is just Cal being political and trying to get more support, now that he is winning. He said the same things when he was on the Tech 3 Yamaha. He wanted more factory support. He's a satellite rider, of course he wants more support. When he decided to leave Ducati, I mentioned on another forum that I wonder when he would start clamoring for more factory support again. Well, here we are.

I think he has rather adequate grounds for asking for more support now, particularly with Dani out. He certainly wouldn't want to be put on an actual HRC bike for the last 2 rounds given how well the new chassis which the factory guys rejected is working for him.

Yeah he probably couldn't anyway right? What with him being sponsored by Monster, and HRC being backed by Red Bull.

I feel kinda bad for Barbera actually. Was hoping he'd do well on the Factory Ducati.

Agree. I was just making the point that I think Cal was using it as a platform to lobby for more help rather than he has a poor relationship with Honda.

I would have thought Honda would have taken Ducati's approach and bumped up Miller to the Repsol bike and got a fill in rider for VDS. He is contracted to HRC after all, they obviously have their reasons I guess.

I think he would have got more out of the Repsol bike than Hayden did at PI.

Aoyama is in for Sepang. Via: Box Repsol

And as for DP:

On Monday I went for my check-up, and it seems like my physical therapy is going well.

The fracture on my collarbone is healing properly, and all the bone fragments are where they’re supposed to be.The fracture on my right fibula is stable and on its way to recovery, and the same goes for the fourth metatarsal on my left foot. Unfortunately, these three injuries mean that I won’t be making my way to Malaysia, so my goal now is to recover as much as possible in time to make it to Valencia.

I don't know how the guy keeps going. He just does not bounce.

He's come back from injury so many times you have to give him credit for not giving up. I hope he returns stronger and gets back to winning next year.

Two great articles.

Mat Oxley's piece: Cal joins the Pommie pantheon | Motor Sport Magazine

He calls out the fans who cheered MM crashing with this doozy...

And then he makes this statement:

I've given Oxley a lot of ...., but this is genuinely good, and important stuff that he said. More so with the crashing as the people cheering MM crashing at turn 4 are not fans by any stretch of the imagination. ....... deplorable is the only phrase that sums up who, and what they are.

Kropo's piece is up as well:

I do like his discussion about alien riders...especially since I've been particularly vocal on the subject as of late. Interesting read otherwise though, in particular the bit where Crutchlow talks about not wanting to ride for the factory Honda team, and about not getting enough support from HRC. This should also put to rest the assertions in this topic from a few that Cal is getting an identical factory bike. Getting an identical factory bike includes getting the proper support from the factory. A lot of people would do well to remember this.
Unfortunately, Oxley brought his politics into the piece and insulted Trump supporters. Oh, and he thinks football players run 20 mph or some nonsense. Too bad that he messed-up his otherwise good piece.

You are taking the same old bitchy - whiny comments from Critchlow and turning them into fact. This guy has complained about support for YEARS! He is annoying as hell. And just when he could have added to his support and his team's support, he decides to be a victim - again. Oh, god, no wonder he and Rossi seem to get along these days. But, if they were team mates, all hell of the bull would ensue, and everyone would be a victim and screechy cat.

You also forgot that now as he is winning, many people accept that which he says and are saying how refreshing it is to have a person who peaks the truth/their mind with no sanitation.

Where only a few races back ..............

And a few years before that ..................

Riders speaking 'their mind' was considered wholly different

For whatever reason I cant seem to go back through previous pages so apologies if this has already been answered!

Has it been announced if Pedrosa is racing this weekend? If not does anyone know who is replacing him?

Yes it has Shaunna and apparently they have found Aoyama so he is racing at Sepang (confirmed)

Valentino has always been a master of psychological warfare. But when you find yourself in a situation where you’re facing someone just like you – maybe it doesn’t work...

He does make sense sometimes...

The interview is from Gazzetta, but it is published in English on motogp.com.

I watched the press conference today, I was waiting for the questions to come about the incident at Sepang in 2015. Finally it got asked, Marc answered first with a short vague answer while Rossi looked very serious. Rossi's response was very to quick "I agree with Marc" trying to move on from the uncomfortable topic i assume.

Another question got asked to VR about it to which he had a very serious face of disapproval and then gave a one word response. He was sitting next to Marc and seemed very uncomfortable and talking to Cal for most of the interview.

So he was instructed not to continue with the paranoia and he didn't like it. Ha ha, like a spoiled kid when parents don't give him candy. He is also probably tired since it is third week on the move...you know...since he is experienced and stuff
