Lorenzo admits MM helped him in post race interview

In a bizarre twist, Lorenzo appeared to support Rossi's claim in an interview with Movistar MotoGP channel

Whilst denying that "any pact" existed between him and Marquez he intimated that his compatriots had helped him win the title by not passing him.

"They knew what I had in play," Lorenzo said.

"The fact they are Spaniards like me helped me.

"That helped me because for sure in another kind of race they would have tried to overtake which they didn't this time."

Enough said. Too bad MM did not use this special treatment for VR in Australia and Malaysia. Clearly a 3rd place in Sepang was worth to him more than a win today.

Marquez stated he fought for the win but couldn't pass Lorenzo. And he sees it as an insult that people like Rossi are saying he didn't go for the win. I have to agree with Marquez on this.

Should have read the entire post, rather than cherry picking one quote. What Marc said.

Lorenzo didn't say that. He just said they didn't give him a too hard time; just like Petrucci and Dovioso didn't give Rossi a hard time. If Marquez could have passed Lorenzo in a normal fight, he would have done it. But he wasn't gonna take crazy risks to take out his own countryman. Just like all Italians did the same for Rossi. And this is like it should be and exactly as Rossi was advocating previous race.

Lorenzo did say that. Take off your anti-rossi glasses and read the quote again for what was said.

As for your point, in the previous race, everyone was angry at Rossi for suggesting that Marquez shouldn't have been so overzealous with his passes. But here when Marquez races the way "it should be", that's perfectly fine now? Quite a dichotomy, wouldn't you say?

And Rossi was angry Marquez give him a fight and asked to easy on title contenders ... Marquez showed he matured and just did what Rossi asked.

I have just got in from pub having watched the race with mates, in my 50 years I have followed Rossi for years and to me the new world champ has won nothing but s hollow victory and as for that wee Honda rider he will never get my support and I just hope someone can repay him for what he has done. I personally will never watch MotoGP again
