Laguna Seca GP Cut For 2014?

does that mean, in turn, that Brno is definitely NOT cancelled? there was some serious uncertainty about the future at the track this weekend, even the announcer said 'and next year, we hope'.

I love the fire Krops. But I think JK meant Dorna & Rossi love affair, not u and Rossi. Anyway ok so Laguna still on for 2014. Well then, hear ye hear ye, all motogp fans, u are hereby invited to the ultimate fan party next year. To be held at Laguna Seca. Come now before Carmelian eventially gets his reptilian claws on it. We may have dodged a bullet this time, but dont ever be forced into the position where u say: I wish I would have gone to Laguna when they had GP there. Trackside viewing will be arranged for all those willing to make the trek. Pack ur bags gentz.

JKD can still go .... himself. Actually, he can't, that would require functioning sexual organs.

Haha. Nice overreaction. I was referring to the incestous relationship between Dorna and VR meaning the only thing inside Dorna is VR's ......

AFAIK Brno stays on the calendar. Best attendance of the year, great event, owner's son is racing in the series.

How about we make a deal, all tracks that Marc won stay. All other tracks on notice and subject to cut.

Shhhhh if you give Ezzy that idea it will be the newest DORNA rule change

How bout LESS Spanish and more diversity throughout the paddock.  Sure sure sure the Spanish love GP.  That's awesome, but really for me at least it is way too predictible.  I would love to see Suzuka back no doubt.  Getting rid of Valencia would be fine with me but isn't that track one of the most popular among the Spanish?  I think it is good to have 3 gps in the USA since they are trying to build a fanbase here.  Though I would rather see Indy get axed and Dorna adding an East coast track.

They've been trying since 2005. Three GPs in the US would be worthwhile if the series had shown any meaningful growth in this country over that time, but frankly, I'm not convinced Dorna has seen a return on their investment.

There was serious promotion behind the series' return in 2005—it's no coincidence that Nicky Hayden featured in People magazine and on NBC's Today show in the weeks leading up to Laguna—which was followed up the next year by an American world championship, which was followed up by an (admittedly horrendous) documentary on MTV, which was followed up by a dominant American moving from World Supers to MotoGP. Throughout it all, MotoGP began getting occasional live broadcasts on Fox and CBS.

And here we sit, looking at the inevitable contraction—and justifiably so; just unfortunate that it has to be Laguna—of one of three USGPs. The experiment failed, in my opinion, and I commend Dorna for working to expand the championship into new locales.

Better idea. Race Assen 19 times. Rog will be back on here in a week.
