LAGUNA SECA 2013: Predictions, Practice, Qualifying

Yes, the tarmac was melting. Regardless, I was in heaven.

UPDATE: Monday afternoon Tweet from Repsol Honda:

"Dani is feeling better and at the moment the plan is to be in Laguna! Thank you for all your kind messages."

I am looking forward to a race between Rossi and Marquez. They have both found themselves sitting pretty in the title hunt and their rivals won't stay down for long. I want to see more round the outside of Turn 1 passes!

The rest of the field won't see them beyond the first lap. Or will 'do a Staring' and bin it in embarrassment after getting lapped.

A race between Rossi and Marquez would not be possible if one were on a Ducati. But no point arguing the point as peeps have ignored the lessons of the last 2 years.

Speaking of which, did Krops book a flight to Laguna Seca?

Jorge on the way to Laguna, he ain't no ......

If so - it gets interesting again. Dani will have to be there. What a soap opera this season is turning out to be.

I guess he'll do the practices and see how it holds up, providing he doesn't fall in practice 2 again.

Yeah, that's the thing, if he does fall again what other more serious damage will he do to himself? There is only so much of that kind of abuse any one body can take. I think it's a huge risk he's taking, I hope he's really sure about it if he does it and that it's worth it for him.

he aint got a brain either clearly, hes one of my fav riders but this is getting stupid.....he shouldn't race and someone should step in to stop these half broken riders racing.

The bike hes on means he could potentially tour round and finish 6th or 7th, which for me is better than taking a straight 25/18 point hit from Dani and Marc.

jorge doesn't cruise around for 6th or 7th.

i'd like to think he learned from sachsenring, but if he wasn't careful there, why should he be careful in guna? seems like he can only go all out.

also i think you watch too much eff wun

He simply can't afford to crash. (Or suffer a Torpista attack.)  Period.

Dude's putting the future well being of his collarbone, and by extension, his entire career, on the line in exchange for a few points.

Psychologically, it's the right thing to do, both for his state of mind as a racer, and to put pressure on the competition.

Logically, I'm not so sure.

Maybe Yamaha will finally take that new engine everyone seems to think they need, then have Jorge putt around and collect half a dozen points.  If it's true that Yam is in trouble (something I'm beginning to doubt), the new engine alone would probably 'earn' some number of points as the season unfolds.

Jorge's a smart, level-headed guy.  I think he can learn.

Losing points to Maquie seems inevitable.

If he can avoid losing points to Pedrosa, who will also be banged up and slow, it will be a worthwhile weekend.  Just showing up increases the pressure on Pedrobot.  Who knows, maybe he'll blow a fuse?

I think Rossi has a good shot to win.  He has won there before.  I don't think that he will let cal beat him again.  You could see in the post race conference that he was not happy at all about it.

MM is good at learning new tracks tho as we saw from the austin test.

I cant see jorge or dani challenging much...jorge i suspect will try to be careful after totally f'ing himself up again in sachs...and pedro is a bit of a wimp.

What makes you think he has a choice?
