Karma's a ...... for Rossi fans who love to talk smack

I beg to differ, in 06 Rossi was a massive pre-season favourite, nobody would have put money on Hayden early season, I in fact bet $50 on Rossi when he was 51 points behind and was at Valencia to see the finale fully expecting a win and $50 coming my way, one .... start and a crash later, the rest is history, and big daddy was $50 richer. Point is you can never predict sports so far in advance, too many factors come into play as Sunday amply demonstrated.

Sometimes you can predict sports far in advance.

Rossi may have been a massive favorite, but you're missing the point that he choked the title away under pressure, and has done so twice.

Rossi isnt racing Hayden, he is racing against 2 of the top 4-5 riders that have ever graced the sport. They both historically finish ahead of Rossi more often than behind him and are both clutch under pressure, which in turn makes making up points incredibly hard. Im playing the odds, and they say it is extremely unlikely that Rossi wins the title this year

I quoted Hayden as an example of overwhelming odds not always giving a payout, Lorenzo has those odds right now, I'm not betting just yet.

Agree it's not over til mathematically impossible and were a long off that scenario.

Also agree Rossi fails under pressure. I was there in Valencia 2006. Rossi was wheelying round in practice and waving more than normal like he'd already won it. Hayden was on one race day and when Rossi saw it, .... himself and made a mistake.

He bottled it last year too and then blamed everyone else, he's a desperate man

Valencia 2006 was such a great race for so many reasons.

Bayliss's performance on the Ducati was fantastic.

Troy's brilliant wildcard ride apart, the race itself was exciting in championship terms but a bit strung out to really thrill

It is never over until Dorna have visited the bank and been told that the Fat Lady is now allowed to sing

Lemme just get .... straight here for a moment now when we are talking bout rossi.

If u say rossi aint fast this year, u no know .... what u are taking about. 6 races so far and he have had; 2 poles, 1 victory and 2 fastest laps. U all know rossi was laping faster than jorge before his engine blew up AND everyone know he would have won the race at mugello. Same thing at argentina.. Rossi was so much faster than marc before they changed bikes and also, he would have won the race at argentina aswell if it wasnt for the bike change. And again starting from 7th at le mans and finishing 2nd. Fast enough. The season aint over. 37 points behind seems much, but it aint. The michelin tyres suits rossi and his yama way better than what the bridgestones did last year. And now with ducati being in the mix for victories; who knows how its gonna go? Suzuki has the pace on the Q's but not the race pace yet. Ducati has both. Marc.. He does what he can with that honda. He doesnt complain and is always happy with whatever place he finishes at, apart from lorenzo, that always complains.. Im starting to like marc more and more again, but i will never like lorenzo. I rather see marc win than lorenzo. This championship is still wide open. 37 points between the top 3 aint ..... One 0 from lorenzo for example and its game on again. Suzuki is in the mix in the Q's. So is ducati and dani but suzuki dont have that race pace yet. So everything can happen. Someome may have a bad Q, riders can crash, go wide and out from the track, it probably gonna rain on some races. Its motogp, not F1. U lock ur brakes, hit the dirty side of the track or ur brakes/tyres lose a lil bit of their operation temperature u may crash or run out from the track, apart from f1 where u have 4 wheels and just have to slow down a lil bit and re-join. 12 more races and everything can happens and it aint over yet for anyone in the top 3.

Yup thats what i said aswell. And oh u all forgot about 2013. Marc had a 43 point lead going into phillip island 2013 and then he won the wc with 4 points. This .... aint over for any of the top 3. I also smell a ducati and a pedrosa win anytime soon.

He crashed in a wet race he was trying to win rather than settle for points as he had been doing prior to clinching the title.

Of course Rossi can still win, but I wouldn't be counting on JL crashing out of too many races.

Philip island 13 was the one the team couldn't count the laps and Marc got dq'd

Who said Rossi isnt fast, i just said he isnt as fast as Lorenzo

He has 2 poles, 3 wins and 2 fastest laps, and more importantly, 37 more points.

Marquez has 2 poles, 2 wins, 2 fastest laps and more importantly, 27 more points
And no, Rossi wasnt lapping any faster than Lorenzo as they both had 4 laps faster than the other before Rossi blew up, and that was with Rossi having benefit of a huge draft advantage. And no, nobody knows Rossi was going to win the race, as Marquez was as fast or faster the last half of the race. If you want to do what ifs, everybody knows Ianonne was going to win if he hadnt had clutch problems or so he says, he was lapping faster than anyone.Rossi could have won, he could have also finished 2nd or 3rd. Mugello was Rossi's playground till Lorenzo showed up, but the new kid smacked him in the mouth and took it.

Watched Lorenzo get great starts and begin the TT away from the front, chew through the rubber and nurse it around (or go backwards) for the last 1/3rd of many races.

Maybe, just maybe he was trying a slightly different approach?

This year he is as fast as lorenzo. He smacked him cuz his engine blew up. Pretty easy. Jorge has 1 fastest lap, not 2. They are all equal on poles and almost on fastest laps, which pretty much says it all bout the top 3; they are equally fast.

Since 2009, when all riders went to spec tire, Lorenzo has 5 wins and 3 2nd place finishes in 8 races.

Rossi has zero wins in those 8 races, get it. New kid walked in and threw Rossi out of his own back yard.

Sure, read and posted just before I had to turn my phone off to get on a plane.

My point is that I wouldn't be banking on a monumental stuff up which included Dorna, Bridgestone and MM's idiotic pit crew, which if it had deprived MM of the title would have been unjust imo, in JL's case

JL has a pretty good record where riding errors are concerned, and will be now leading from the front rather than trying to make up a points deficit as at Misano 2015, I think he has probably had his riding error for the season, and 37 points will be hard to make up by beating him in races, particularly with MM around to take points from Rossi as well.

Have a good time. Not a bad place to be flying to, not that the South Coast of NSW where I flew to is all that hard to take, even when going there to work.

Looks like they were counting it right and marc that ...... up.

No, he came in on the pre planned lap. One of his handlers, cant remember which, interpreted the memo wrong and thought as long as Marquez did not trip the transponder for the 11th lap, he was legal since their pit was before the timing line. Considering the entire clusterfuck was on Bridgestones hands, and the memo came out literally minutes before race time, there should have been a little bit of understanding on RD part. That would have been one hell of a way to lose a title
