Ridiculous: Stoner and Pedro are well within one hundredth of each other's times in all but one sectors.

First session had the quickest times for Pedrosa, Stoner, and Rossi, what happenened in the 2nd session, they seem to have slowed? Weather?

1st session everyone used soft rear and in 2nd most of them were using hard rear. Thats what I saw, can anybody confirm??

good times but i have a feeling they will get lower...weather permiting

i have to say the ducati isnt looking to bad here alot more stable in the corner's compaired to qatar, maybe the tinkering is working out??

He's using Rossi s left overs. Bike will be junk in pratice, get slightly better in qualifying, and be reasonable in the race, but since he will start to far back he will finish at least 2 positions behind rossi which will be just like the team wants it. Ducati will still suck in the race.

thats bs, i dont think thats the way ducati work.... they are the dictators and i dont think they like being dictated to, who ever there rider is.

if they listened to there no1 riders then the ducati probably wouldnt be as bad as it is today, they know best..... since they 800 era they have always gone backward's

hayden will do ok here same for rossi.

Ducati are moving to a more flexible, less stiff chassis. How is Hayden using Rossi's leftovers?

Anyone know if Hayden is using the flex chassis here?

Only a guess but I think he is still on the flex one. Checked last years FP1 and FP2 times and he is about 1 sec slower this year. I have read JB thinks this is the way forward but I would love to know what Hayden really thinks since he dismissed this setup very early in testing. Not holding my breath for a Nicky interview bashing Ducati though.

Nicky's career is over. The doormat of GP. What .... luck to have gone from Pedrosa to Rossi as a teammate. .... GP.

Get serious, everyone with a brain knows this is now rossi's team. Ducati will do whatever rossi wants, just as they did when stoner rode for them. The problem for ducati is they don't have a clue. They proved that last year and they are proving it again this year. The engineers on that team don't seem to have a clue on how to fix the problems on that bike. As for Hayden, they never seem to come to the track with a bike that starts out on the pace. They start the day with a bike that is not even close and then spend the rest of the weekend just getting the bike reasonable. Whether this is by accident or design who knows. All i know is it happens again and again. Other works teams seem to have no probem bringing two good bikes to the track and having both riders help improve the bike. Ducati being a 1 bike team just seem to bumble there way through the weekend.

Right now Honda is showing how it should be done.

They are wanting to move to a more flexible chassis, Haydens season is being sacrificed as a test mule while Rossi rides the still faster stiff chassis. I guess if it doesnt work out, they can blame Hayden instead of Rossi for the failure.Nicky are you listening, there is no spot for you to be a number 1 rider on a factory team, get out, go have some fun kicking ... in WSBK. I would say right about now, Honda corporate would pay part of your salary to go ride the Ten Kate Honda. You could be the answer to a trivia question. Who is the only rider to ever win a WSBK and Moto GP title

Went to double check my facts and dug up the Cycle News from a couple months ago. Turns out Nicky said the opposite of what I thought he said. Said he actualy liked the softer frame a bit more.

Think I may have confused things with this article but it only says it was rumored that Hayden dismissed it.

I still think Ducati are pressuring him to test this setup but I guess it could be a gamble on his part too.

Why do I find the silence about JL's dive inside Rossi and the subsequent slowing down mid corner a bit odd?

I thought the forum members are for a very safe GP racing given how Rossi was criticized for his Qatar start

Ya think?....

there was a great deal of mystery surrounding Ducati's so-called "flexi-package", a selection of parts designed to produce more flexibility

the story became more confusing; it was reported that Nicky Hayden had tested the package, but discarded it in favor of the standard package first tried at Valencia.

The reports said that Valentino Rossi had never even bothered testing the softer package [and why would he, afterall, he's got a test mule for that kind of ....]

Guareschi revealed that far from being discarded, Nicky Hayden was currently using the flexi package at Qatar. As there were only two chassis subframes available, Hayden had fitted them to his two bikes, while Rossi continued to work on setup on the standard package.

EDIT: to add

BK, who just said the following:

"Shows what they thought of me, I guess I did the right thing by leaving."

As much as peeps want to say its all just development as usual with Ducati, its not. The development picture is as level as the side of a pyramid. We'd like to say, hey, what's wrong with wanting to improve the bike? Nothing. The problem is when the bike is NOT improved despite requests, or when the bike is improved on the back of an actual factory rider in the game to win; but has been relegated to testing. And so what, we are suppose to judge results upon the riders only? The results are a farce. In what world is this an equitable situation for a competition? Lets just forget about Nicky for a moment (its well enough understood he is of no consequence, his results mean nothing), but how is this fair for the other factory riders who don't get to have their manufacture's test riders along side them during the season? I'm sure Casey or Lorenzo might like another GP caliber rider along for the ride at every event to test out some .... in real race conditions. Its a ....... farce, and Rossi's results are just as much part of the ......... I can't really blame Rossi, because if he asks and they give it to him, its not his fault. But lets not talk about the situation like is all koshire and be blind to the actual situation of the ground.

I don't think Rossi was criticized very much at all. At least not enough.
<

Didn't see it. Which practice and around what time? (so I can check it out).

Also, did you see Rossi give Crutchlow the death stare? FP1?

BTW, is Hopkins swimming in his leathers or what? Geez. I guess not enough time to fit him.

I missed FP1. So didn't see VR with Cal (seems like Rossi is n the headlines for all the wrong reasons now
<
). The JL-VR stare match happened in FP2 after 2-3 mins into session. See the replay in Dorna site FP2 video coverage.
