I have noticed a lot of mixed comments about Dani Pedrosa in some of the other threads. Therefore, I thought a dedicated thread on his recent performances would be warranted.
Personally, I thought Dani showed us his best season last year. I do realise that Dani didn't have to compete with a fully motivated Stoner last year. Therefore, some of his results may have been enhanced by that fact. But still, he rode well enough to worry an in-form and fully motivated Lorenzo for a decent portion of the year. And in my opinion, Lorenzo has never ridden so well.
So, with Stoner completely gone, and having a rooky as his team-mate, I thought this year would be Dani's best shot at the title, as long as he could maintain that winning confidence from 2012, and provided Honda could deliver a bike that had the edge on the M1.
Two races in, and Dani has failed to beat his team-mate. And quite disturbingly, from my armchair, it appeared his rooky team-mate wasn't even riding to his maximum. It does appear that Marquez is speedily becoming MotoGp's new giant (no ironic pun on Dani intended). But for this to happen to Dani so early in the season, surely the guy is worried.
Was he riding conservatively with the championship in mind? Was it merely the incorrect tyre choice that lost him the race in Texas? Will we see him fight back in Europe? Or is Dani done and dusted?
