Is Lorenzo a worthy champion?

There were the two years when Pedro wasn't the number one rider. Stoner came in and won the championship and then tossed it away (in the lead therefore making Stoner dumber than Lorenzo is luckier - that multi sided coin amuses our little cuckoo bird) in his second HRC year.

Pedro got put in the corner like a red headed step kid.

Then Stoner said .... it, gave a ton of luck to Pedro and they gave him some Bonox, Pig tucked him into his little racer car bed at 7:30pm and read him a story and he was number one again.

In the HRC team

Not in the championship

That was Lorenzo, he rode good

No amount of Bonox will change that for you

The end.

All Pedro ever proved was that all the Kings horses and all the Kings men couldn't put Humpty back together again

His would have to be the greatest investment in time and money and the greatest forbearance EVER shown by HRC to be a rider without a premier class championship.

It isn't good luck to Jorge that Pedro is the championship bridesmaid in perpetuity.

He's been the bridesmaid for Hayden Rossi, Stoner Rossi, Lorenzo Stoner Lorenzo and so on and so forth.

The luckiest rider in the championship is without a doubt Pedro for holding what is arguably the number 1 seat in all motorcycle racing EVER and not bringing home the bacon.

I wish I could hit the "like" button twice on this one.

He may not have brought home the bacon, but he did bring home the Pig.

I think I'm starting to get the hang of this "luck" thing....

My favorite rider wins = skill

My favorite rider loses = bad luck

A rider I hate wins = good luck

Stop me if I've missed anything...

Your favourite rider rides like a fanny, can't get settled with the bike and is dumped = Planned action by anonymous 'suits' in race team Star Chamber that have someone better lined up and were looking for an excuse.

Yes he is a worthy double champion, there is no doubt about it.

When he got his ... beaten by Pedrosa in the last 8 races of 2012, there was plenty of doubt whether he deserves to be champion.

Yeah, I recall all that. <cough>

Try again. Maybe something about not being willing to push? Or perhaps that Dani gifted him his championship by binning it at PI? Or that the race in Malaysia stopped early just for him? Or that his brain was gone, as shown by his Valencia crash? or maybe that he was rattled by Vale coming back?

There. Did some trolling for you. Leave the money on the fridge.

When was the last time we had an 8 race season, OR

When was the last time a rider got to pick his 8 best races of the season and that was how the championship was decided.

This new system of every race counts towards your points tally and the highest points at the end of the championship actually WINS the championship is silly and misleading. It favours lucky clowns and people who can't grow a decent moustache.

The Village people, who could grow a moustache, used to love getting "8 of the best" but 16 was too much.

Apparently, never.

Just like the boogeyman. Just childrens tales. Dinnna concern yer wee self. Just shut yer tiny peepers and dream of the return of MacRossi who's sure to put the tilt back in yer kilt.

This system was in place back in the days when the odds of surviving an entire season were decidedly worse than they are now. 1976 was the last year in which only a rider's best results were counted (6 out of 10). That was also the last year in which the TT was part of the World Championship, and Brno (the old street circuit, not the lovely new track) disappeared from the calendar the year after. What happened then was that once a title was wrapped up, the champion simply stopped racing for the rest of the year. Why risk dying when you are already champion?

Since the tracks got safer, all races have counted. This is a good thing, as it means that fans who come to the last race or two also get to see the champion race.

Have we worked out whose fake noob cuckoo is yet?

I think hes for real. His convictions seem genuine, which is hilarious. Despite the kneejerk reaction to think hes fake becuz we/u may deem his takes over the top, consider we have a guy here like BJC who has expressed and stuck to his insane blaming of Spies for getting acutely ill and saying him mentioning his mechanicals were mere "whining excuse" making. What makes Cookoo any less sane or fake? At least Cookoo is trying to make a case based on some comparative of results, as misguided as his conclusions may be. If nothing else it has served to examine Pedro's last third of the season. What has BJCs take served? Well nothing remotely as interesting thats for sure. It has however served to remind us a 50 year old moron can access the site and not be an alter ego but actually for real. If Cookoo is an alter ego as u suggest, one possibility would be he did so to make us laugh. Reason enuf to be amused, right? However, knowing a grown man like BJC is out there (making and sticking to his stupid takes) actually exists, well, thats a much more interesting thought.

In my opinion Lorenzo is the rightfull 2012 champion. I am a "Dani Pedrosa" fan because I like his style and his developement skills. But in the other hand I 'm not closing my eyes to escape reality. Pedrosa can be very competitive when he is in the zone but he is like one of those chess playeres who knocks every chess piece of his opponent but he never knows how to check mate. there is no killing instinct in that guy.In my opinion It takes a lot of mental balance and focus to be on the top for 18 races. Lorenzo kept his eyes open and won the title fair and square. He is  like a chess player who  knows every move his going to make till the end of the game. I once said if Stoner was not injured Lorenzo had a difficult 2nd half of the season. But that has nothing to do with Lorenzo. because Lorenzo knew all his move from the Qatar race. He played 100% on his strong points and was the rider with the least errors. His smooth style and his calm strategy through the whole season won him the 2012 title.
