In your opinion what was the best abd worst part of 2006

Best moment: Pedrosa taking out Hayden...it gets more funny every time i see it - what a prick Pedrosa is!

Worst moment - Either the Catalunya crash, Valentino at Valencia or Valentino at Le Mans with the win in the bag.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Tom @ Mar 22 2007, 01:07 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>I must say i am dissapointed that so many of you would rate a rider crashing as the best moment of the year. I don't know about you, but i tune in to watch racing and competition, any sort of retirement is a disapointment. To take so much enjoyment from the removal and potential injury of another rider is a horrible thought and not an attitude the sport needs.

Worst moment as mentioned was probably seeing Marco in the catalunya gravel, i felt so sick right then and was truly worried.

Best moment was Hayden taking the title, a truly emotional moment aided by the fantastic sportsmanship of rossi and the contrast of feelings from the previous race.
Spot on Tom!!!!

I absolutely agree!!
I don't understand how people could actually be happy if someone crashes. It shouldn't be like that imo.

Worst moment: Pedrosa taking out Nicky Hayden. I don't think he did it on purpose though.

Best moment: I guess it has to be Nicky winning the title. I will be honest, at first I felt a bit sad cause Vale didn't win the title, BUT when I saw how happy Nicky was, I was happy for him too.

Best: The start of season & Phillip Island - first time we saw the new rule in action.

Worst : End of the season & Gibernaus retirement - i know alot of people didn't like him, but he's really the reason i started watching GP again.

Normally a rider crashing would not be funny but i suppose being a Rossi fan Hayden out of the race was at the time a good thing. Also because i have hated Pedrosa ever since i saw him first race the fact he did it makes it better.

anybody who think's that a crash is funny is damm ignorant imo. there's nothing funny about it.

Yeah but it was funny because of Pedrosa's stupidity not because Nicky was out of the race. Even though i am a Rossi fan i did feel sorry for Nicky and despite all Rossi's bad luck through the entire season it would have been unfair for Nicky to lose the title throgh his teammate being an ......

Tell 'im Frosty!!!!!!!!!

Well his name is "Valentino is god" what did you expect!!!

My best moment was Jerez, with Dani in 2nd chasing Loris for the win in his first ever MotoGP race. Proving all doubters wrong.

Worst was probably Gibernau's horrible season, from the first race where his bike broke down ruining what could have been an excellent Ducati debut, to all the crashes injuries and mistakes that he suffered during the season capped with his retirement.

Sete is guy I didn't support much at the beggining but I got to like him with time. Since the fatal Kato accident, he always carried and the 74 with him and dedicated his wins to him, when after right S11 he carried a US flag and hugged his friend and ex-teammate KennyJunior.
IMO he was too much of a nice guy for the world (MotoGP paddock he lived in).

Yes i am "Valentino Is God" and unlike some of you i seem to have the intelligence to realise that Pedrosa is stupid and has the brain of a five year old as well as being the height of a five year old.

As i said before i did feel very sorry for Nicky and maybe justice was done with him winning the title.

Why are you calling Pedrosa stupid???? You shouldn't be saying stuff like that. Are you implying that other people on the forum aren't intellligent???
No need to say things like: ''Pedrosa has the brain of a five year old as well as being the height of a five year old''. Of course we all have our opinion, but come on man!! Try to stay nice..

Bloody hell, this post makes Me, Rog, Baldy an Jumkie sound impartial!

There's no need to laugh at Hayboy getting knocked off though. Lets be honest, he can lose races perfectly well without relying on Pedrosa.
<
If he had lost the title race after that, everyone (Hayboy included) would have blamed Pedrosa for him not winning, and as we all know, titles are won and lost over a season, not a race. (Apart from in the obvious circumstances)

At the end of the day, I found it hard to swallow that Rossi lost the title, but, the title wasnt lost at the last race, it was a culmination of events over the season, just as a culmination of events made Hayden champion.

I got plenty of good and bad memories from last season, cant pick any in particular to say are my faves, sorry!

Pete

Best: Watching Pedrosa Trying to start his bike after the Cataluyna wreck and falling off.
Worst: Screaming at my TV @The Hayden/Pedrosa Incident. (but watching Elias race his wheels off made up for it)

Soz if offending anyone but i was more trying to say Pedrosa is stupid than other forum members are stupid, i mean they must be pretty clever to like Moto GP!

You have to admit though what Pedrosa did was amusing because of how silly he was to do it.

Best part an American rider won the championship
the worst part either Niki winning it or winning it on a Honda
Hondas are phoney

He made a mistake. Have you never made one? In that case you must be the robot around here. That's like saying Elias was stupid to take out ROssi at Jerez, or that Vale himself was stupid for taking out Marco (At Montegi I believe but don't remember for sure). That's like saying KRJ is stupid for having taken out Tamada last year...in the one race where Tamada managed to get anywhere near the front no less. Capirossi then is also stupid, (a championship-determining race in 250 comes to mind). In other words...pretty much all of them are stupid.
That's like you saying Sete is stupid for causing the Catalunya crash which put Loris and Melandri out of form for a few races allowing Hayden to make the most of the fact the usual front runners weren't in form to rack up points...in other words like saying Sete was stupid enough to hand Hayden the championship on a silver platter. Is that what you're saying? Racing accidents happen. Dani was obviously gutted after taking out Nicky. The guy races brilliantly all the time, building himself an impeccable reputation in the lower classes, makes no mistakes, is always a perfect gentleman on track, wins a 250 championship with a broken bone that none of his team know about, racing through so much pain that he has to be lifted off the bike at the end of one race (penultimate if I remember well), makes ONE bloody mistake and that makes him stupid??????? Dani's neither stupid nor malicious. Unlike some.

The worst moment was the crash with Melandri, Caparossi and Gibernau which a lot of people have mentioned.

The best part of the season was the fact that it came down to the last round to determine the champion.

I also enjoy the race with Olivier Jacque when he was filling in on th Kawasaki.

How come I have a feeling you hated Pedrosa, the person and not Pedrosa, the rider??

well, its statements like that that make the person saying them look stupid and not the one they are talking about. was that comment really necessary?

Yes i suppose it is the person Pedrosa i hate as it is his personality (or lack of it) which i dislike. However, it was stupid of him to even get anywhere near to the back of Nicky's bike in such a situation. i respect the talent Pedrosa has as a rider although he still has a lot to learn and needs to improve to challenge the likes of Valentino on a permanent basis, but when it is a dry race Pedrosa on the Repsol Honda will usually be a threat.
