The production lease what ever the .... they're called Yamahas aren't looking to bad considering the insider informed us they were being built in the garage yesterday, Espargaro put in 17 laps and was only 3 tenths off NH who put in 76 laps on a production Honda racer that is supposed to be well sorted and able to put Hayden on the podium. The Yam is only four weeks old and it will be supported and upgraded through the season. Sorry guys but HRC don't give a .... about Nicky or any one else on the production bikes.

Hayden did better than I thought he would, but as Digger said  it is going to be a long season for Nicky.  Given what was being said by the-insider Nicky should have been much further up the order with that that bike.   the fact that the RCV100r is behind the Duc should be a great worry for you Hodor fanboys....Perhaps things will change once HRC look at the data, and Aspar comes up with the upgrade budget, though i would not hold my breadth....

BUT like i said Nicky did better today than i had expected.... ;)

By the way, did anyone notice whether any of these Proddy hondas had showa bouncy bits and what brakes were on them ?

Didn't notice, but am sure the Ducati has a Sturmey Archer gearbox............

You have to take in to account that hayden is on a different machine, he still has to learn what a bike with front end feel, feels like to ride again.

You are a little too quick to judge,

Personally been watching Cal and not liking what I see, but will give it time,

Too early to judge ;)

The photo of Redding on the Go&Bum Proddy has Showas. Not surprising from that team.

Nicky's bike has no Ohlins stickers, but it does have gold fork legs, unlike the Showa black.

I'm curious if Nicky will ride in the rain tomorrow?  Don't know if they would gain anything from it since they are still base lining the bike.

I was told this would be the case months ago by a Yamaha worker. I just didnt feel the need to throw my .... around and act like an informed big shot on the internet about it

Hard to say what fastest lap times show - they have had a 1L cut in fuel, the proddy racer has 23L and a softer tyre option.

I'd be interested to see progressive lap times, if MotoGP.com has posted them... my subscription ran out on Sunday (.....!).

There are a few people here who are territorial and feel the need mark their territory any time a smart newcomer shows up. Dominating the conversation is more important than actually learning. They're so insecure that they can't bare to let anyone other than members of "old boys club" be in the spotlight. And whenever one of them is proved to be absolutely wrong, they get out the smelling salts and lay back on their fainting couch because aristocrats are sensitive that way or they pettifog the newcomer to death with abstruse, hairsplitting, irrelevant talking points. It's kind of like hazing in football (American style) teams where newbies are tested to see if they're tough enough for the team. It's not enough to be smart and informed and have a great love for the sport. You have to have the skin of a rhino as well. The loudest and the most aggressive get to run the show and intelligent debate takes a back seat. It's world politics writ small. The Tea Party/Taliban (same thing really) analogy is a good one. Wherever you have a Mao, a Stalin, a Mugabe or an Ayatollah type, there is always the jailing or marginalization of the intellectuals and poets that don't sing the praises of the strongman.

Rant over.

I suspected that there would be teething problems, and that there was no way we'd see anything close to three tenths off today, but I also didn't expect to see Nicky two seconds adrift, either. In a normal shakedown test, I'd expect another second or so to fall off the first day's times, but considering this is supposed to be a polished product, with wax applied by Casey Stoner no less, I wonder how much further the bike can be pushed in Nicky's hands. I have no doubt the package and the rider will improve, but that magical three tenths looks a long ways off.

And I have the text with date stamp to prove it.  I can vouch for this.  The 'insider' info bit (which has proven more accurate so far).

Agree.
According to Kropo, Suppo said that Casey only did 5 laps on it.
Which points to it not being polished in the slightest at GP pace. And also calls ........ on it being 0.1 down on the best lap of a works RCV...unless one believes Casey really is that fast on an underpowered bike with 5 laps of set-up time (as opposed to Nicky's 70+ laps). I don't.

Funny how anytime I make a negative comment - you assume it's about you. You flatter yourself if you believe it to be true.

These days the only time I feel impelled to comment on something you post, is when you have said something that is about racing which is pretty much never.

I'm inclined to not believe it as well, but Casey always had a propensity to go fast right out of the box. It'd be one of the more stunning feats of his career, even if it's never remembered. If true, of course.
