With Casey not present, the young Jedi, can - will - must rise to the occasion.

A whole different mindset when you are the lead rider.

---

On any given weekend either bike can be the better one.

The variables are many and minute.

Since I actually have a job, I frequently am unable to watch any practices or qualifying. I will tune in on sunday morning and read thru the practice thread to get an idea of what to expect before I watch the race. You see Povol you are asking people to get a life and take time off work or to actually shirk their work duties so they can watch while they are supposed to be working. Like most people I actually have a life so I am unable to do this.

I cant go to motogp.com to find out this pertinent info without getting spoiled so I go to PS because most members understand and relate to this predicament. I know an occasional slip up will occur, but because most of our veteran members are courteous and thoughtfull, that unfortunate occasion is minimal.

Its just ....... courteousy among mates. What dont you understand

And your .... anology is clever but I would have thought you would have said that its like going on Fox News and being surprised that Obama is a Kenyan, Muslim, and a terrorist

I've been on to the moderators to get the thread removed and alleviate my mistake and I am yet to hear back.

Lesson learn't and apologies to anyone whos logged on. I myself get annoyed if any of my friends text me a result or spoiler.

Thanks for your understanding guys.

And you would have been just fine, he didnt post anything till twelve hours after it was ran. When is it ok?if you didnt bother watching till say Monday , would you walk around work with your fingers in your ears so one of your co workers didnt accidently tip you off. Or do you forbid them from talking because you havent got around to watching.

Yours isn't clever.

Haha. Coworkers, friends, neighbors, mistresses etc

I wish I had that luxury. This is motorcycle racing were talking about.

Nobody I know watches. Thats why Im here

Actually you can. Go to Google and type "Official MotoGP website no spoiler" and you can watch the replay without seeing the race results on the splash page.

This.

As for the thread, if it's been twelve hours, whatever. If I can't watch the race live, I avoid here and twitter. That's it. I'm with pov, why are we here if not to discuss racing and results. If somebody is handing out WSBK spoilers in the motogp section fine, but half a day after the race? Suck it up.

OP It's funny as I watched the race unfold I found myself cheering Dani on. Last season Lorenzo grew on me and this season it's Pedrobot. I'd be happy for either of them to win.

Ditto on all points.. I was spoiled but it's my fault.. I know better.. just got antsy..

Hated Dani since 06.. but the last year or two I've been coming around.. dani kept it on Jorge today and it paid off.. I say bring on more of the fairing bashing Pedrosa the barbarian lol

Always been a fan. This season has not changed that fact.

Don't worry ratdeal, it's an easy mistake to make and didn't actually bother me as I'd already seen the result but it does annoy the hell out of others.

Oh and pov, the reason I didn't see the race live was because I was at the track testing a new motor, so excuse me for having a life instead of living it through the MotoGP grid
<

No.

I have seen Pedro in 250's. It's easy to forget that he can be quite the fighter but I haven't.

Ratdeal, JohnnyK and #22 are completely correct, its not cool to spoil results in the titles of threads. Its for obvious reason. But most won't hold it against you, as you are a newbie. So you are forgiven. But its true, not all of us watch the races the same day they are aired. Plus there are many other threads of interest to readers who may log on to shoot the .... from their phones, but still not at home to watch the recorded races. Sundays are usually family or errand days, and not all of us can sit on our ..... like Pov and wait for the delayed coverage. I say this because Pov, being American should know that we get .... untimely coverage. But that shouldn't bar us from logging on to catch up on non-race threads to read a spoiler in a title. Those like Pov and the rest supporting his .... opinion on spoilers are completely out of touch on spoiler courtesy. For example, its almost midnight my time, and I just finished watching the Wsbk races. I should be asleep for work tomorrow, but I decided I couldn't sleep without watching the races (others might be more responsible and prudent and get proper sleep for their job performance). But I could have just as easily watched them tomorrow. And btw, we don't get the WSS until Tuesday. Yeah, that is right, we don't get some races until 2 damn days after the event. Anyway, don't beat yourself up over it. It was an honest mistake.

To answer your question. Pedro's performance did impress me (that is saying something, as I think I dislike the guy the most out of the members here). But does that 'change' my view of him? No. I still think he is the beneficiary of the best machine in the paddock and has had it all his way his entire tenure in MotoGP. If anything, why did it take him so long to come good in a race challenge would be my question. There are 4 bikes that are designed to win races in MotoGP, one of those 4 is being sabotaged. So that leaves 3 bikes. One of those three was sitting in the garage because the rider was injured, Stoner. (Just as side note, but when that other rider had an equal bike to Pedro, he was spanking him for the better part of the season. That changed when the updates came, which seemed to suit Pedro. Which would make sense, as HRC are aware that Stoner is retiring). Anyway, that leaves two competitive bikes designed to win races. Most often, the conditions don't develop for those bikes to be close to each other in the last lap. Today they were, and it produced a fantastic finish. Both rode absolutely excellent, given the fact that they had the machines under them to accomplish this feat (see the other rider still considered an "alien" by many, down in mid-pack 7th for elaboration on this idea of parity I'm trying to impart). Why this lesson continues to be missed by the spectators, will remain a mystery to me, but Pedros 'should be challenging for wins'. Anything less is failure. Today he did what should be expected by a guy riding one of the ONLY two bikes designed to win a race. And I'll add, as Arrabi mentioned (which was so obvious it should not have even been needed to point out) but that acceleration advantage he has over the M1 going up the hill after the Ses, leading to the final turns, was crucial to that margin of victory (a small one indeed, but its the difference that makes the difference). Btw, I wrote as much regarding such an advantage in today's Moto2 result (which I won't spoil here).

I couldn't wait any longer to watch the race with the 24hour usual delay I allways have, So I checked the result but still have not watched the race. Reading comments about Pedrosa's ride in Brno it is a huge energy and confidence boost for the guy to compete with someone like Jorge and win in a circuit that suits Jorge more then him due to their riding style and Yamaha's enormous midcorner speed. I see some difference in the front part of the RC213V body. I mean the 2 famous nostrils of the Honda's face is changed. Don't know how much of an influence that can have, But I have this feeling that Pedrosa is using the same strategy that the spain national soccer team used in Euro 2012. Starting calm and a little bit ..... ish, than going faster and pushing it harder. And the only reason that a guy like Pedro can have for this strategy from the start of the season is one thing: The new 1000cc bike forced the midget to adjust his riding style in order to keep himself uninjured and then finding a way to push it harder in the 2nd half of the season.

Cheers

My view hasn't changed yet. But if he wins a third in a row, I will give him an equal shot at the title with Lorenzo.

However, winning the next round won't be easy. Despite taking out a gutsy victory, I think he was a little lucky at the end there. Lorenzo seemed in control of the race, from my armchair. He appeared to let Dani take the lead towards the end so Jorge could let Dani do the hard work and size him up for a pass at the end, which did occour. We all saw the battle on the last lap - fantastic! But it looked like Jorge made a rare mistake by going wide on the second-last corner and handing Dani the win. But, maybe Dani's determination forced the error on Lorenzo - maybe Dani created that luck. It's interesting to think about. I think there is one thing for certain, and that is Dani's confidence will be soaring now. Perhaps this "self-belief" or self-esteem has been Dani's biggest problem throughout his MotoGp career. It's possible we could be seeing a new Dani Pedrosa - let's wait and see.

It's also hard to gauge whether Dani has taken a big step forward as he hasn't had to compete with Casey in the last 2 races. If Dani had defeated a fit Stoner back to back, then perhaps this would help indicate an improvement in consistency. It's hard to tell by just comparing him to Lorenzo alone. I think the next couple of races will reveal a lot. Stoner did say at the beginning of the season that if Dani improved his consistency, "he'll be there" (hunt for the title). For Dani, so far, he's doing the business...

The problem is not you mate. You slipped up as we have all done but you at least see the error and learn. People like Povol dont give a .... if they spoil it for others. This could be because he is a selfish pigheaded jerk but more than likely because the race and result is not so important to him. Povol only watches because of Rossi hatred and prays for the day he see's him get hurt.

I bet he would kick off if someone spoiled a Nascar result. Now there's a thought

Dude, don't get bent over the florid .... that Little Johnny spews. He'll wind up on you 'ignore' list soon enough...

Dont worry about that Angry Geo.

RatBastard is infinitely more perceptive then you and hes only been here for a few posts.

He's already PM'd me and had a laugh over my comments.

Hes was able to discern that my post was insulting yet endearing.

He'll be just fine here unlike yourself, who's pulsating ....... (thanks Kesh.visually disturbing metaphor but quite effective) puckers up when ever a little harmless ball busting is pointing your way. Every post of yours has some negative or angry comment about someone.

Lighten up dude. As ive said plenty times before, its all in fun.
