Great race by all riders except Iannone, will get some sort of penalty for sure. Good to see the fans favorite win #46..
RIP LS 39

Will get some penalty points by race direction (did he actually get any for Argentina?).

Btw: That's LS39, you überfan.

Great race. Though I would've preferred MM beating VR, there is nothing to take away from the old man. Wasn't gifted anything, MM kept him honest till the end, he held his nerves and took victory.

On the handshake. It was good of Marc to approach Vale and it was good of Vale to accept. And yes, it was the 'right' moment after what had happened on friday and after they had a great, clean battle.

What I loved most about the race was the atmosphere on track. MM and VR fans (plus some JL and others) mixed together, and more or less everyone cheering together. Applause for both riders from both 'camps'. Everyone loving the sport and celebrating it. And many couples/friends/groups split evenly in VR46 and MM93 merchandise, seemingly unbothered by this bullshitting 'war' that was going on. And yes, big applause for the handshake, a great feeling of relief and hope that things might return to adult ways from now on. I was sat at the first corner, Zona F.

Great atmosphere, great visibility over more than just the corner in front of you, ...... toilets though much better than Brno, but the beer (non-alcohol only) cost 5x as much, seriously. And hardly any traffic jam after the race, took me maybe 5 mins longer to return than on friday or saturday.

Yes I agree, except who offered their hand 1st, no video that I have seen shows who offered who the hand 1st. So I'd put it down to maybe they have some respect for each other, which is the only way it should be.

BTW I have a collection of mugs in my dining room that I have collected over the last 40 years, the only one I don't have signed yet is MM's, maybe I'll get it at Silverstone.

Well from what I saw on the 'big screen' it very much looked like Marc approached Vale. But this doesn't matter, I'm happy that they seem to be willing to finally move on from ignoring each other and all that BS. Let's just hope that this is the beginning of the end of this ungraceful booing.

Re the previous post/penalty question: AI will start from last in Assen.

Iannone starts last next race. Accurate punishment?

I would say so. Clearly no intention but that doesn't change the outcome. Plus he's a repeat offender. Is this penalty actually based on the points system?

Though I do believe the atmosphere towards him in the Ducati team will be harder to swallow than starting from the back for one race..

I don't congratulate Rossi because he does not deserve it, he tried to murder the guy who extended his hand out to him today. And if you have any delusion of what could happen in an unexpected crash, look no further than this event! He has yet to apologize or express remorse. You don't care about a man's character, you overlook it for whatever delusion you have of the man.

There was a quarterback here that used to torture dogs. He was momentarily banned from the NFL, but them returned after "rehab". At least he apologized publicly, but I never cheered for him either. Nor do I recognize his "accomplishments" as legit. But by in large the world we live in overlooks it in favor of athletic prowess.

I have no reason to praise anything that 'appears' Rossi has "accomplished" on the track. He wouldn't be sitting on that M1 now if the sport sanctioned him like other sports do when you deliberately put a fellow competitor's life in danger. As I have said, a soccer player was banned 9 months for kicking another player in the back, what then should happen to a rider who deliberately crashes another out? This season is representative of Rossi's GP career, he simply doesn't compete on a level playing field, and I know there must be many intangibles that influence what you naively perceive as "results". Believe me, I know my words are wasted on your ilk. Hell, he wouldn't be sitting on that M1 right now if the League's CEO of the sport hadn't brokered the deal. So I view all of Rossi’s "results" as a product of influence doping.

Many on the other hand can look at today's "results" at face value. But for me Rossi's finishing order has no more legitimacy than his "podium" at Sepang.

I know you don't understand it or accept it, heck there were three-quarters of a million Vudu's signing a petition to get the rules changed so that you could celebrate another ........ accolade. It will be no different when Rossi "wins" again, because authentic competition doesn't matter to people like you. I see no distinction between a rider allowed to circulate after deserving a disqualification at Sepang and now circulating wilst deserving a ban.

That QB that I told you about. The league and public could have decided not to sanction the player for torturing dogs. After all, torturing dogs is not done on the field of play. But for some reason the public outcry was strong enough that the league took action. But as you and many reason, that QB could have easily continued playing by your standards. And a good argument could have been made actually. But people like me wouldn't have recognized him or praised him for any athletic ability or "accomplishments". What Rossi did was in the field of play however, and deserves to be serving a ban as we speak. Fine for you, not for me.

What a bigoted person you are, for Pete's sake just put your hatred away and enjoy the sport. If you can!

Go home bigots!!!

An emotional Catalunya MotoGP weekend ended with Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez shaking hands for the first time since 2015.

Once friends, the pair's relationship went into meltdown over claims by Rossi that Marquez was trying to help Jorge Lorenzo win last year's title. The bitterness escalated during an on-track clash at Sepang and subsequent title defeat for Rossi at Valencia.

Rossi has barely made eye-contact with Marquez since, but Luis Salom's tragic death helped bring a sense of perspective and a handshake took place in parc ferme, moments after the Italian's thrilling victory over the Honda rider.

“When these things [Salom's accident] happen, all the rest becomes not very important. Very small,” Rossi said. “So I think it was the right thing to do.

“This is a great sport. Our passion. But is also dangerous. So I think that a normal behaviour, a normal feeling, with the other riders is helpful.”

Marquez commented: “It was a really difficult and sad weekend for MotoGP. But in the end, on Sunday, I like that it was the atmosphere of a MotoGP family again. When we were together on the grid [for the minute's silence] and the way all the riders dedicated their race to Luis.

“In the grandstands everybody was supporting all the riders. Full of respect, because we are taking a lot of risks. Another thing that for me was important was to shake hands again with Valentino. I'm happy about this.”

Asked if this race can improve their relationship, Rossi confirmed “yes”.

“Okay” smiled Marquez, putting his hand briefly on Rossi's shoulder while the media gave a round of applause.

But the relationship between Rossi and Lorenzo may take a little longer to thaw.

While Marquez and Rossi haven't clashed since last season, the Yamaha team-mates have exchanged some harsh words on a variety of subjects since round one in Qatar.

“Good question!” smiled Rossi, when asked if would also try to improve the relationship with Lorenzo. “Sincerely the situation with Lorenzo is a little bit different. I mean, what I can say is that at the beginning of the season I don't think to not have any more relationship with him, or not speak with him, or not say 'ciao'.

“But since I came back to Yamaha it was always me to go to Jorge, to say 'ciao Jorge, it's ok? How are you?' So I think this year I wait for him to come. But it never happen, and so you have to speak also with him!”

Dude, some of the bigoted cockheads on here won't read these articles as to do so will upset them, yes I'm rubbing it in but what the ...., had enough.com.

To be fair that article doesn't seem to contain many opinions but it's only a reportage of the press conference, which someone would have brought up anyway...

???

Makes no sense to me. All I see is a big wall of text under your name that you haven't actually written yourself. (You give the source, credits for that). I just don't get what or whose opinion quoting crash in full length might change. I'm just confused about your behavior. It's like watching someone turn 360 degrees, touch his nose and ears and singing a Spice Girls tune before walking through a door. But hey, if it makes you happy..

Decent source of riders opinions that are often the cause of endless megabytes of discussion, all rolled up into one post in a thread. You don't have to read it, just keep scrolling.

I read your entire post with a huge smile on my face. I LOVE that Rossi has prevented you from enjoying the sport!! You hate him and YOU are the one that gets punished for it.

The fact that you and JPS always have to exaggerate the events at Sepang shows you don't really believe it was all that bad. You always have to say Rossi "punted" Marc off the track and now it's Rossi attempted to murder Marc. You can't simply state the facts that Rossi slowed and ran Marquez wide, then Marquez turned into him and crashed, because that doesn't sound bad enough to justify your rants/anger.

You have no voice beyond this small corner of the internet and the 2-4 members here that will share your delusions. Nobody else feels Rossi attempted to harm Marquez and that's what further pisses you off. THOUSANDS cheer while you sit and ..... on your little internet corner. You've posted enough here to write a book about hating Rossi, but NOTHING changes and nothing ever will change. His SUCCESS cuts you DEEP!!! BLEED .....!!!! BLEEEEEED!!!!

Vale - 114 wins....8 to tie and 9 to take the all time lead....and coming back in the championship fight...

MM - great effort just not enough today...though once that Honda is sorted he will be unstoppable...

Dani - good to see him do well again...and on the podium....I hope he can continue to improve in the run up to 2017

Maverick - good run though I did think he'd be the one to take Lorenzo...

Iannone - Gigi seemed to go off on him in the garage....though i am sure he doesnt care since he has a new job and he took the guy that took his job.

Lorenzo - back luck to be taken out.....i'd like to know why he was so slow today and going backward....cooked his tyres or hated the track layout...?

Next Assen!
