Thats a lot of information.

"Parking - guarded-parkingspaces of Unicvé for free." - I thought there would be paking at the campsite........ Is this parking in the centre of Assen?

I like the camping map, I'd better get on the phone.

Anyway 27th June is my birthday, so I'll be having a drink or two....
<

Are you staying near the track? or are you going home?
parking your bike at those guarded Univé things are options if you go into the city on your own transportation. no need to park your bike unguarded, but not a lot of people know that those places excist and are free. I've seen a map somewhere of the centre of assen where they pinpointed those places out. I'll try and look it up later today

you can park your bike on the campsite ofcourse. what you must not forget is to bring a little piece of wood or solid hard plastic so you can park your bike on the grass. those parkingspaces are not guarded if I'm correct. you'll park the bike right infront of your tents, so maybe a very good locking system is handy too
<
if you call to holland, our country number is 0031

well I've got 2 options, depending on how the weather is. if it's dry and sunny, I'll be camping at the Diana Heide in Westerbork for those 3 nights we're going wednesday evening YAY! if it rains, I can go to a cousin of mine and sleep at her house in the centre of Assen
<
I'm all pro the last option, but my dad doesn't want to sleep with 8 other guys in a tiny room (neither do I, but I can get over it
<
) so we made a compromise: I sleep inside, they can put up the tents in the backyard, and I'll take care of breakfast

those Univé parkingspaces are really easy to recognize, they have huge blown-up gates with UNIVÉ on top

right. it's here in 1 and a half week. so, my suggestions for meeting up are this:

suggestion 1: meet up on friday night in the centre of assen. I've showed you maps, we can just pin point out a place and a time and have a drink with anyone who shows up.

suggestion 2: we'll meet on saturday AFTER the race.
reason 1: I don't want to walk to the otherside of the track at Lunch time with taking the risk of missing the gp when I have to walk back to my seat.
reason 2: after the race, a lot of people want to leave. I think like this: why wait in a file when you can also wait at the track while watching the rookie cup+side cars, and talk with the other members? it'll take you the same amount of time with leaving anyway.

neil, can you make it after the race? I know you're going back to amsterdam after the race with the train, at app. what time do you want to leave the track???

where to meet?! I know babelfish will be sitting at the winterdijk. I sit at the stekkenwal. which is bassically on the opposide of the track. I know neil has general admission tickets, so does Tom if he wants to meet up that is.
- behind duikersloot/mandeveen/de bult. so we meet in the middle and we all have to walk a bit.
- behind the grand stand in section M/N or something like that
- I'll walk with my dad+his friends to the otherside of the track to the winterdijk and we meet up at babelfish's place
- at the stekkenwal, where I'll be with my dad+his friends+my cousin.

any other ideas????

I have no idea when we'll be leaving the track, as long as we're in 'Dam by 11pm everything should be good. I like to make things up as I go. Haven't got admission tickets yet, we'll get them on the gate saturday morning.

It's time. I'm off tomorrow afternoon for assen. Ferry to the civilized aera of Europe and down the Autobahn trashing a perfectly fine race tire. Arriving late wednesday. What are your plans?

Look in the petrolhead zone.
I've got Maris number and will be meeting up with her sometime either friday or saturday. Be good to meet you too and anyone else from here that's going.
Group photo!

we're going wednesday night or thursday morning. I've no idea how to arrange a meet up so quickly btw! I exchanged phonenumbers with neil, so that should be ok... if you feel the urge to walk all the way to the otherside of the track to the stekkenwal, I'm sitting in section AL row 9 place 15
<

btw, mods, can you see what a mess the forum meet up topic is????

i know mari, you don't need to tell me...however, this poor topic will get swallowed up by all the post-donny pre-assen threads...as such, no matter how messy it is, i'll move it to the appropriate thread

and anyway, you just have to browse through the title to find the gp that you want. that can't be that hard (and frustrating), right guys?

jane, just to make sure you know it wasn't ment as a personal dig at you! you can't help it either.

just some last minute info:
- there will be busses at the central train station to take you to the track.
on thursday the busses will ride from 7am till 3am
on friday the busses will ride from 7am till midnight.
a retour ticket on the buss is 5,- which you can buy in the buss/at the station

you can use this buss too when you're staying on a camping and want to go to the city. central station is almost in the centre of Assen (maybe a 5 minute walk)

Finally found the right group and topic.
Found the old topic searcing but that didn't lead anywhere.

Anyway. I strongly recomend Camping 2. Hot showers, reasonably quiet in the night, guarded parking for bikes. And the best: It's within walking distance of both downtown and the track. Some 25 min walk to the track but that's ok. It's probably faster than driving at race day. No worries regadring driving with alcohol or other substances.
<

As for meeting up I would perfer thursday night. I'm also staying for the Rookie race, but rather like to follow it as there is a Norwegian kid there and he's doing ok. After that it's really a race to get as far north east as possible before the night.

<span style="font-size:18pt;line-height:100%
SAN MARINO GP

Hi

As in title, three of us fancy a road trip on our bikes. so we've picked san marino. thinking of going via france, switzerland and into italy. we did think about sailing down to santander and including the perenees in our trip, but time may play a factor as we leave on wed am before race day. has anyone any infomation or advise or been on a simlar trip. i've also enquired about ticket prices and there not cheap, has anyone been san marino and can tel us the best place to spectate from. any infomation would be great. thanks.

I went a few years ago,

If you can camp on site it will save a lot of time (hours) sat in traffic. Are you booking your tickets direct from the circuit or a booking agency? Either way you should be able to book the camping at the same time. Get grandstand tickets if you can, we didn't we ended up sat on the hill, the atmosphere was great but the bikes looked like ants, book ASAP tickets sell fast it's a popular race to go and see and should be a good one this year given the closeness of the points between the top riders.

Hope you have a great time!

I'll be in the Czech Republic this weekend for the race. Anything I should know about the town of Brno or the circuit? Any tips on getting into the Villiage? Where to rent motorcycles? I'm actually staying in Trebic.
