i really don't think so.

if you look up the description of the petrolhead zone, it says:

"This is the place for enthusiasts to post pictures of their own pride and joy be it 2 or 4 wheels or even that dream machine. Chat about anything relating to bike travels to caravan holidays, projects and track days.Feel free to share any amusing road stories from speeding tickets to riding the wrong way down a one way street..we won't report you honest!! hi guys,

might be able to go down under and see the race (yay!), any help?

like, best tickets to buy most especially.

can't wait...

Main straight, Exit turn 2 (aka Southern Loop), Turn 4 (Honda corner), Turn 5 (Siberia), Lukey Heights or between Turns 11 & 12 (last two corners of the track) Also up on pit roof. .... it... the whole track is excellent. The suggestions I have given you with the exceptin of turns 11 & 12 have Grand Stand seating. With a general admission ticket you are able to walk around the entire track and see the track from every vantage point I have suggested.
The top of the main straight is excellent too and don't forget if you go, get down to turn one to see the the bikes appear from underneath the cross over bridge and fly through turn 1. It's awesome.

Hang around for a while too and do a track day with www.phillipislandridedays.com.au you are able to hire bikes and gear too.

You can camp on site or stay in Cowes at a hotel, motel, caravan park (trailer park for those in the USA) or rent a house. (The Island is full of holiday rental houses and appartments). There is excellent transport to and from Cowes (from the track). The track is about 2 hours drive from the airport in Melbourne (about an hour and 15 mins if you're on a bike
<
) But don't try this on the GP weekend, the Police are always out in force and you'll end up having a stay in the local lock up. ("I've been told" the beds are not comfortable! Hehehe) Just google accommodation Phillip Island and you'll find accommodation easy.

Also you can gain access (with your Grand Stand or general admission ticket) to the support race paddock for free. That is the Australian superbike support races etc.
Getting into the GP paddock will take a very short skirt and a few more $$$.

Enjoy

PS: Phillip Island can be the coldest place on earth and the next day be boiling hot with 60 mile an hour wind (ok they are extremes but you get what I mean) So, pack clothing wisely!

thanks...and to andy too...these are very helpful.

i was considering buying a grandstand ticket, but a GA one might do as well
<

hopefully, me and my friend could get accom

thanks a lot again!

Totally concur - as I said in the PM get in early for accommodation, camping at the track is fun but I’m a bald and aesthetically challenged neanderthal, who occasionally revels in the acrid manliness of my own body odor…

Also, that weather prediction is accurate, this year the race was perfect but the day before and day after were windy raining and about 9 Celsius.

Stay at Cowes…

Andy is not kidding about the clothing! Being Dutch, I am quite used to crap weather at GPs but that wind chill from the south pole with rain made it seriously cold. I was wearing a hat, gloves and two sweaters underneath my fleece jacket. The Ozzies were not kidding when they nick-named it Little Siberia!
But when the sun comes out, it is the most gorgeous place on earth to have a race track!

As for seats, the whole track is amazing and as it slopes you get great views everywhere. We did go for seats (at Siberia) because when it rains it is nice to be able to sit down and to use the weather shelter (you pay extra for that). And we really couldn't be bothered to bring garden chairs and stuff.

As the weather was lovely on race day, we ended up meeting with friends on the main straight who bagged a place on the fence with a massive TV screen behind them. Great location as well, ended up having way too many drinks and then joined the track invasion quite unsteadily on my feet. Good fun that, and worth hanging around the pitwall afterwards. In 2007 Melandri came out and signed, this year Toseland and Edwards did.

No advice on accommodation though (we stayed at a friend's summer house), apart from maybe trying Rhyll, it is a few miles from Cowes and the track but it is also on the bus service.

For me it is <span style="font-size:18pt;line-height:100%ASSEN and <span style="font-size:18pt;line-height:100%MUGELLO
Possibly Donnington as well depending on the budget.

I will! Come out to Cali brotha. I live 20 minutes from the track, you can stay at my pad (my way of sponsoring you, this way you can save $$$ on lodging and make the event). I'm serious.

I have my hotel booked for Miller, still don't have my tickets. Been holding out for just a 2 day pass as I won't be showing up until late Friday. Can't wait to see the races, was a blast last year and this year will be even better. When it gets close, we'll have to figure out who all is going from the Forum and have a group meet up.

Boots & Curve, I'm currently negotiating with Frosty for a meet up. I know a great place to have brews in Salt Lake (but it’s a bit far from track). The up side is that we can score with multiple chicks being that is just blocks from the Mormon Temple, and those chicks like to go multiple on one dude. My kinda religion. That is no ........, and they like Polygamy Beer.

Not sure yet. I was gonna camp at the track, but I was talking to Frosty on phone and he's telling me about going and staying at some plush house he's got. Maybe we can all crash at his place. I already got my rental wheels and flight. So I'm just waiting on Frost to get his act together and take the plung.
<

If we do this, I'm bring a bottle of Don Julio Anejo! So don't ..... out on me.
