Rubbish. He may not be on the world champions list, but he has 13 GP wins and finished 2nd overall to none other than Shuey.

Like you I also agree that the penalty was harsh, but Lewis DID gain an advantage. Most drivers on the grid ALSO think Lewis gained an advantage..I guess the two of us aren't that blind then.

The only way he could possibly of gained an advantage is if you think he took the run-off uneseassarily rather than doing so to avoid an accident. That is a possibility, perhaps provable with data from the various teams but common sense suggests that by the nature of racing he was long committed to the move before Kimi pushed him off the circuit. If you do believe lewis chose to cut the corner when he didn't need to its still a marginal and speculative call, particularly out of place given the conditions and the identical actions of the other contender in the battle. There is a valid argument, with evidence from the FIA's past decisions that by getting in front under brakes Lewis actually had the corner in the first place, and should never have given kimi back the lead he had already earned, but his car isn't red so that line of arguemnt wont stand up.

Apparently the rules have been clarified now on the procedure after these types of incident, but having had to do this only makes the penalty seem less justified as they are retroactively creating a rule to outlaw what Lewis did, which was technically not wrong.

Awesome Qualifying today, Lewis/people dressed in silver shat the bed badly. Tomorrow is going to be facinating, exciting and really important for the championship. I can't wait!!!

Also, amazing driving by Vettel, he was ragging that car and totally deserves to start 1st.

Hamilton in 15th position.....he deserved it, for all the BS he has been spewing lately. The nerve of the guy to call Kimi out saying Kimi has no balls. That cheater got his just desert today.

WOW! I never would have dared predict that, what an amazing drive. Hamilton did well to limit the damage he did yesterday, and was excellent to watch with his elbows out. Kimi's embarassing form seems to have continued and now he's 4th overall, bad times. Championship looking hotter by the race.

Dunno if this is right but apparently Massa cut a corner and ferrari was then told by the FIA to let the car back past that he overtook,if that happened isnt this blatant bias seen as Mclaren werent told last time out?
<

Vettel drove like a champ ! all weekend !

Gutted for bourdais, it could of been a torro rosso 1,2 considering his pace

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Teomolca @ Sep 13 2008, 03:29 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Interesting quali. Ok maybe I was wrong and Massa is not as .... as I thought he was, he managed to beat Kimi and Lewis (rainmaster my ...).
LOL! Well, today he really did a great job in the rain, don't you think? He would have won if it had rained again.

I AM a girl, it's not that hard to believe!!!

Not RUBBISH...facts!

Well Lewis has been talking a lot lately. I'm just glad Raikkonen totally ignored his comments. That's the smartest thing to do.

About the race:
WHAT A RACE, OMG, VETTEL DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
<
<
<

I already knew he was talented, but I could not have predicted this. And he's ONLY 21, the youngest driver ever to win a race (and score pole). Damn, what a drive!!!! I'm really liking this guy, I think he's my 2nd fav now
<
he already belonged in my top 3 favs!

Also well done to Kubica and Alonso AND Lewis! He really did well at the early stage of the race, and if it had rained again he might have won. Like said before, he just knows how to drive in the wet. Massa and Raikkonen were both disappointing. Massa started 6th and he finished 6th, and that in front of the home fans.....and Kimi, omg, what the hell!!! That was just one disappointing drive! No wonder people think he's not motivated, but he is. I've heard he had a dry set-up, and he really had a hard time getting the tyres work (in the wet), when it got dry, he started pulling FL after FL, but by then, it was already TOO LATE! I think, Kimi should help Massa from now on, because I don't think he'll win the title this season. It's better to focus on winning both titles for ferrari this season, and then next year he should go for the title.

Once again, Vettel was AMAZING!!! He's a future champ given the right car!

The facts are 13 gp wins, they are real and indesputible. Your opinion is that he is not a "real winner" but i have to question what standard that is based on as DC has done everything except win the world champiosnhip.

That would explain a lot!

I am NOT talking about him winning 13 races, I've seen most of his wins, I know he can win races, but he was always the nice guy, always ready to play 2nd fiddle to his Finnish teammates. IF he was a real winner, then he would not have been so happy doing that. That's not only my opinion, but also a FACT!

can't be arsed to quote, but i agree with varunica with regards to kimi's motivation. as if he badly needs the contract to have the salary. afaik, kimi's the guy who values what he feels more than anything. if he's not enjoying something, he quits it. so signing up another contract would just mean he can see a worthy reason why he needs it to have another go.

the question is not motivation. it's form. they need to solve their issues, may be not for the championship anymore, but they still have to try.

and another note. was having a laugh at steve slater last night. he said, "am i seeing things or was there a white horse by the pit garage?"
<
white horse?! that was someone carrying some white boards or something of that sort. actually they were two of them. but the first one, indeed looked like a horse from a distance.

Coultard is not championship material. Only reason why he got those wins was because of a dominant car. It's sad to see how Formula 1 racing is nowadays. It doesn't matter how much talent you've got, if you're in a ...... ride.....you're going to get ...... results.

correction, if you would browse through some of my recent post here, i posted a link from autosport re: mclaren stating that the FIA told them that the hamilton move over kimi and letting him get back the position was okay.

and it was the stewards who called for the penalty.

Which is why vettel just won the race in a torro rosso !

So why did the FIA call it ok?

They advise one team wrongly, another team correctly, WTF!!!!

nope they didn't. they said to the mclaren team that it was okay because hammie had already given back the position to kimi. they advised ferrari to have massa hand back the position most probably because he hadn't made it yet.

But why did they say it was OK, if it wasn't!

The team asked, got the answer, got penalised! I say again, WTF!

i thought the stewards are different for each race and that they act independently of the bigwigs. because surely, if those contacting the teams (referred to as the FIA), and the stewards are one and the same, another news article would have surfaced after the race. along the lines of "inconsistent" "misunderstanding among" etc.

but hey, i do watch the racing but i'm not immersed with the technical-political aspect so what do i know?
