FINALLY CONFIRMED!! Ducati Welcome Lorenzo

There we have it.

The entertainment for me is watching riders ride magnificently.

Let's face it my friend, moments of excitement in motogp these days are few and far between. The competitiveness has gone out the window.

You don't think Rossi or the events discussed in which he was involved were at all influential in JL's move to Ducati, the actual topic of this thread? Do you think JL would be moving if he had received appropriate recognition and support, from Yamaha in particular, as the winner of their last 3 titles, including the one he rather inconveniently actually won last year?

It is also a Rossi fan rather than a JL fan who is by his own admission deliberately (and cleverly in his own opinion) provoking the controversy on this and other current threads.

I'm sure they had something to do with it, as JLO previously said he wanted to finish his career with the M1. But who knows how much money they offered JLO.

You can say whatever you want, but Lorenzo is about as entertaining as a slippery eel. And if we watch motogp for entertainment, then personality must be included in such a discussion.

I guess that we watch bike racing for vastly different reasons and I will readily concede that my reasons are more 'old school'' then many of those that have started to become fans during the Rossi era.

For me, I could not give a toss about personality as that is not the show, which for me is what happens on track, how they ride, the bike v bike, rider v rider battles. I can just as easily watch a masterclass of Lorenzo like robotic riders as I can a Stoner masterclass of bike control whilst at times seemingly out of control, as I can watch a Marquez manic approach or quite simply the Rossi education lessons like Laguna 2008.

Personality is BS as it is just a public face to the private person and more often nowadays it is the manufactured corporate world face that elicits words that are used to draw people and dollars to line the pockets.

Lorenzo may not be to all's liking but I have no issue as I like to hear his views on things as of late they seem to have become more his honest opinion/appraisal rather than corporate publicity speak.

Just as you may like the smiling delivery of Rossi, I and others may enjoy the seething anger of a Stoner, or the humour of an Edwards but no matter the personality it is the riding that for me talks and whilst yes, some races may lack excitement it will not stop me enjoying the riding, admiring the spectacle and sitting in awe of the skillsets on display.

I guess it is each their own but give me a McCoy slide before any post race celebrations and I will happily turn off the tv and go back to internet trolling

I have said the same elsewhere Mike ............ JL has been shown no respect deserved of his position and thus in many ways had no real option but to leave.

For the sake of Yamaha one must hope that it turns to a good decision to replace JL with whom ever Rossi so chooses (as I genuinely suspect that he WILL get a say despite the impending denials) else they perhaps do run a risk of a few years of wilderness.

Genuine question for anyone ........ am I the only one wondering as to whether we are seeing the early indications of Rossi taking over control of the Yamaha factory team post retirement (my conspiracy theorist mind working overtime) as there is no way he would want JL and now has the very opportunity to mentor riders to take over the reins so to speak ?

JPS, if my leg gets shoved forward and off the peg, then physics dictates that my leg needs to go backwards to connect with the peg again. Or perhaps I could just let my leg dangle in thin air for awhile.

Actually the leg went further back than it was when it was on the peg normally...the slip happened after that.

Try again.

First of all BATURRO, you have taken this to an all time low. We shall discuss your behavior momentarily.

To answer the question, the Italian riders only let Rossi pass once the damage had already been done by the Spaniards. everything was on the up and up until Marc started intentionally slowing (as proven by the time sheets) to upset Rossi's chance at winning his 10th title.

As to you BATURRO, you are a disgrace to this forum, motogp in general, and the spirit of sportsmanship. You just admitted to a world forum of motorsports enthusiasts that you would CHEAT for your countrymen if the need should arise, instead of letting the spirit of fair competition play out. Shame, shame, everyone knows your name!

It must be maddening to a bopper that Marquez is so much faster than Rossi that he has to slow down to play with him

It's really not. Sure, I'd love to see Rossi be more competitive, but he's 36 so I'll take what I can get at this point in his career.

Are you talking about being team boss, as in Lin's job? Actually, that's an interesting thought that I hadn't considered. Do you think Lin would be ready to retire in just a few years?

Given the last few seasons with Yamaha ........... the power does not lay with Lin Jarvis and thus I suspect that he may go the way of Preziosi

Aha!!! you're such a big Rossi fan that you don't even know that the .... is 37 not 36!,you really need to research your hero a bit better my friend.

Only a sad sack gives a .... about personality. What, do you have fantasies about about hanging out with Rossi and the boys, dressing up like clowns and playing with blow up dolls. Quit living your life through celebrities, they wouldnt piss in your ear if your brain was on fire.

Only an undeveloped chronie would be one-dimensional and care solely about one aspect of the sport. Let's have a bunch of robots on the bikes then.

Luckily I have my own fire extinguisher for such events.

Absofuckinglutely,100%,i'd have 'em all shot personally.

It's funny how when I made a homophobe comment about JLO and Marc, I was attacked.

But it's perfectly fine for you to say you want all gay people shot??

You are clearly an undeveloped monkey who needs to be snuffed out.

Its Good career move for Lorenzo to go Ducati if he wants to try for goatdom .... goatness??

You have to win on the unwinnable bike to at least get a foot in ...
.
Rossi had the ambition but failed miserably because of his lack of talent ....

But maybe Lorenzo could win a few ....... but it'd be amazing and decisive for him to match the GOAT for wins on a Ducati.

So the World Champion is taking a gamble with the Ducati for 2017 & 2018. Can't say I'm not interested in how it may turn out taking into consideration the risk involved (lack of success the Ducati has experienced in the past) and the caliber of rider that is Lorenzo.

It makes me wonder who will be Rossi's team mate and how long will he be invited to "the ranch" if he starts beating Rossi early on.

Sure would put a grin on my face if Lorenzo wins the first round of 2017 and celebrates by kneeling in front of the bike and kissing the fairing.
