Trouble is, a lot of capirossis most impressive performances were based on being way better than all other bridgestone riders. BUt with Stoner, a honda team and Suzuki looking good, it is looking likely he wont have it so easy on the days when bridgestone works. He also had some poor performances that were not acceptable when riding against guys like hayden and rossi. I expect capirossi to be very good, but not as strong as last year.

that was Pedrosa, Capirossi went down at turn one and was quite badly hurt.

I've just noticed something horrid!
WHERE ON EARTH IS SYLVAIN GUINTOLI IN THAT POLL?!
You may think of him as just another Jose Luis Cardoso but he's a future World Champion and I wouldn't be suprised if the Yamaha made him king this year!

King of what exactly? He is rookie of the year already so thats no major acheivement. I think its too early to tell if he will be a world champ in the future or not but i think he has potential. Anyway when the poll was started there was apparently not enough spaces for him, but it hasn't been a problem since most people around here havn't even heard of him.

hey tom, remember that sarcasm thing...

My favourite pilot is Rossi because when I saw a moto gp race for the first time I was 9 years old and he was the pilot who impressed me the most, for his abilities and his sense of humor. So I've suppported him since that day!
<
The second pilot that I admire is Capirossi because he's really a warrior!!!

I was being sarcastic.

Hopkins as he's the only good British rider (Anglo-American, but I count him as one of us) plus he's always shown he has the talent to ride with the best, but never the package.

Rossi as second, the talent is undeniable, but he is such a joy to watch racing.

Yeah, I'm a Hopkins/Rossi guy also. I just wish Hopper hadn't been injured. I'm sure the race in Qatar will be mostly a rehab experiment to see how he's healed. I can't imagine he would be able to ride at more than 70% of his capability coming back from the injuries.

Yeah, he's a warrior, no doubt. I heard he threw up in his helmet at Laguna Seca and kept racing. Any truth to that?

Hey HP (welcome to the site) and thanks for bringing up this old thread again. I hadn't read the whole thing but I'm glad I did. Haha, all the whinning about Elias was great. What better than to hate on such a nice guy for "taking away" points from the Beloved One, by simply racing no-less. Outstanding. What a great read.

I don't know about Capirossi but Carl Fogarty certainly did this in 1997 race 2.

First group of favorites:
Hayden, Capirossi, Rossi, Nakano, Hopkins (Gibernau was here too)

Second group:
Melandri, Edwards, KRJR

Third group: the others

Waiting for Mika Kallio to reach the top class!

For me ROSSI will always be number 1
<

A close second is Capirossi 'cause he has a cute bum!

Tee Hee

1. Rossi coz as my name says he is the above power!!!

2. Hopkins - always been a fan of Hopper and i think given a top Honda or Yamaha he could challenge for the title.

Anyone but Pedrosa - he is so boring!!!

Rossi because he has the best throttle control, can change his lines on demand, has no fear on his brakes, bike feel to crew chief communication is superior, has the best crew, has won more than anyone on the grid, mental concentration is superhuman, level of adrenalin is super flat, and is emotionally stable throughout the race.
