F1 : 2013

I enjoyed the race, then again I would as a Vettel fan I suppose. Good drives by Alonso and Raikkonen and others have said. I reckon Alonso has rocket fuel in his car for those starts lately!  Kimi did a good job with a bad back, felt sorry for Webber when his car caught fire so close to the end, how frustrating must that be. Felt bad for Grosjean when he got called into the pits, he was clearly enjoying himself up tot hat point.  Hamilton on the radio whining again, is that all he does these days?

Massa drove a decent race I suppose, Di Resta, well he's got to be the unluckiest driver out there and another good showing by Hulkenberg.  Mistake by Ricciardo, well we all make them I guess but his just got shown to the world.

The penalty Webber and Alonso got was odd, but apparently some cars had to swerve to avoid them, I didn't see it as I only got the highlights show so there you go. Nico handing the place back didn't make sense to me either, those stewards, you have to love them and their nonsensical decisions don't you? NOT!

That's Webber's third reprimand this year, that means a 10 place penalty on the grid next race, I'm sure he's just thrilled about that!

Somehow, I really enjoyed the GP this weekend.  But on the other hand, lots of it made me pretty fed up with F1.

Firstly, Vettel's drive was literally out of this world, watching it I was simply speechless.  Now I know the Red Bull is clearly the best car on the grid, of that there can be no doubt.  But Vettel was also clearly on a totally different level to every other driver this weekend, and frankly miles ahead of Mark Webber, who we can be sure is a world class driver.

I was very saddened to hear the booing again on the podium, I really wish the people behaving like that would bugger off and go back to watching football.  I know I slated Vettel for his behavior in Malaysia, but I don't believe for a second he is actually a bad or unpleasant person in real life and a performance like Singapore deserves nothing but respect and admiration.  If you cannot respect a performance like that then you simply degrade the whole sport.  It is such a shame.

I am also pretty fed up with the driving standards/driving rules in F1.  Something has to change because things like the 'penalty' given to Hulkenburg this weekend and Grosjean in Hungary is just embarrassing for the sport.

Lookout Lyria, as of L37 a crazy Frenchman is trying to take out your hero!

Pretty good race so far, I'm hoping the Lotus drivers can continue to keep SB honest.

And again!

LOL!  The Big Red Rubens Button in Vettel's cockpit works really well, doesn't it!

Pretty good race, I did start to think it was getting dull then it all started to happen. Pirelli really need to rethink the tyres for next season, that Perez incident was bad. Okay he was on the limit of the tyres and that was a hell of a lock up but to delaminate like that was awful.

Felt bad for Webber, he came out of the pits on new tyres, within a couple of hundred yards he had a puncture and had to pit again. Then to be hit the way he was by Sutil and have another fire was really bad for him.

Good drive by Seb again, Hamilton did yet more complaining on the radio, does he ever do anything else now? Great drive by Hulkenberg again, the traction he was getting out of turn 1 was awesome!!

All in all a good race, Oh and Di Resta that's his sixth retirement in a row isn't it? What does it take for him to finish a race these days? Good fight by the Lotus boys, don't worry Geo, they weren't going to catch my boy ;)

Well if you forget about Seb like the camera crews clearly did, you have quite a good race. I felt bad for Grosjean, one little mistake cost him second, but if you think Kimi would listen to team orders now, you need to wake up!

Get Hulkenberg in that other Lotus. NOW!

Hamilton is claiming Vettel's dominance is going to cause f1 fans to lose interest... and he's right. I generally watch the first 5 minutes, see Vettel is already lapping the whole field, and give up. Hopefully the rule change for next season will make a difference because Vettel has too big of an advantage at this time.

We had the same thing with the Schumacher/Ferrari era a few years back. There is still plenty of other racing going on behind that you know ;)

I think the new regs next year will shake things up a lot, one thing though, don't bet against Adrian Newey producing a fast car, it might not be reliable out of the box, but it will be fast I'm sure.

Nice 404. :)

I'm guessing that's the report from Uncle Eric saying they won't descriminate against Hulkenberg for being such a fatass.

Latest rumour is that tubby has just signed for Force India.

Which would be a waste.

Okay I want Vettel to wrap the championship up in India next weekend. Why? Well it's a live race for me and I want to hear his reaction as it happens, not on the damn highlight show when they only let you hear what they decide you can hear!!!  If he doesn't do it this next race then the next two races I have are highlights only, so I'm really, really hoping he'll do it in India!!!!

'Yes! Yes! Yes! sob thanks guys, great job' Finger

Sorry to spoil it for you. :) Glad you're back.

It's a testament to how little regard BBC now has for F1 (and motorsport in general) that they didn't fight to show the last race of the season. Utterly laughable.

Thanks for ruining it for me :p  I still remember his reaction in 2010, I've never heard a driver so emotional on winning, bless him. Thanks for the welcome back too :)

Actually, you're wrong there, the BBC are a lot of things, but they do have the last race of the year live. We get India (live) then Abu Dhabi and Austin (highlights only) then finally Brazil (live)

Toro Rosso have announced their line up now Vergne stays and is joined by Daniil Kyvat a young Russian aged only 19. Should be interesting.

It's not definite Hulk has signed for Force India, it's only Eddie Jordan who is saying that and we know how wrong he can be at times

my personal opinion of eddie jordan aside, the man predicted a lot of stuff and has been 100% right lately.

i really hope thats a made up story though, i'd hate to hear di resta or sutil have to look for jobs. i like and rate them both

Eddie Jordan promised that Jacques Villeneuve would return to F1 with the Stefan team in 2010. Did it happen? NO!!  :(  So he doesn't always get it right, I'll grant you he was spot on about Schumacher making a comeback and going to Mercedes not Ferrari and that Hamilton was going to Mercedes, but he's not always right.

I am hoping he's wrong about Nico Hulkenberg, I want to see him in the Lotus!
