F1 : 2013

Oh I'm not done with F1. I'm just not as excited about it as I used to be. For instance, next weekend there's a work do, and before it genuinely would've bothered me that it was a GP weekend, whereas now, I couldn't really care. I'll watch the highlights when I get home.

Incidently, if I sign up to motogp.com, can I live stream races from there next year? I'm also going to .... out thanks to BT otherwise.

But it's Monza!! Add to that the BBC are showing it live too, that's usually one of the better races, a proper circuit and all that. Now if it were one of the newer tracks I'd agree, not so much to miss. Record the full race, don't suffer the highlights if you don't have to, that's what I'd do anyway :)

As for streaming motogp, I understand you can do it, I'm not the person to ask as I can't do that myself. I'm sure one of the boys will tell you where and how though, they're a great bunch here.

Yes you can live stream every session throughout the weekend,

Plus extra interviews after the sessions with the riders.

It is a lot more informative than the tv.

Sounds good. I'll definitely sign up. Thanks

You mean unlike Spa which as all fans know is a terrible circuit and never gets quality races? :D Admittedly I didn't think the Beeb would be showing the whole thing (you mean they have 2 back to back?..incredible, it's almost like they care) so thanks for letting me know, the fact I didn't is testament to how much I've lost interest this season. I'll try and catch it all, but honestly I'm more looking forward to the next MotoGP than Monza.

Oh Spa is my all time favourite circuit, see it even says so under my name ;) But Monza is a classic too and should be a good watch. I was pleased we got it live this year too, we didn't last year. Oh I always have a list of live and non-live races so I can keep up to date with them all. The same as I have the motogp calendar to refer to as well.

So, in a move that suprised absolutely nobody (apart from possibly Daniel Ricciardo) Daniel Ricciardo has been given Webber's sear next year.

Thoughts?

I actually saw him drive the Red Bull at the YDT and he was pretty quick (when he wasn't spinning it off the track :) ) I just hope RBR actually give him the opportunity to race and not bog him down with suspicious gremlins and political ........ like they did to Mark.

I think the team boss has made an excellent decision, he has chosen a driver that won't threaten his position on the circuit, will be prepared to back him up when he needs, will please the people at Red Bull by justifying their young driver program and doing all the media crap.  Hopefully it won't upset Christian Horner too much

I am pretty sure it wasn't Seb's decision Tom :p

I think Ricciardo will be a good fit, why they picked him over Vergne I'm not sure but hopefully he'll do a good job there. I'd rather have seen Kimi there to be honest, it would have pushed the team forward more in my opinion. I can't exactly see Ricciardo being much of a threat to Seb but he could surprise us I guess.

Never mind tom , he's surely a stirrer. Would have been a quality post on crash though!

I think it's honorable of webber to let his butt buddy fernando know that the seat is taken , hopefully alo got to see the aussie tv feed.

Then again if you struggle with a rookie Hamilton ,taking on seb would surely end in tears anyways so it's surely good for his rather fragile mind to instead have all the excuses in the world.

Agree about kimi, kimi vs seb could have been one for the ages given that any , rather ill informed, claims that its just the car wpuld have been debunked.

On the other hand it is good to see young drivers of their program getting a chance.

What else beside 150cc racing is jaime up to? Would really like to see him again

Congrats! ...... post of the week

Thanks. that means so much. I now know how Seb must've felt when Michael Schumacher congratulated him on winning his first title.

If you need me to post all the examples of the mechanical issues of car 2, we're clearly watching different sports anyway. I was half joking when I said they were suspicious as I find it hard to believe the most successful F1 team at the moment would deliberately sabotage ther own car. Even now when the WCC is a done deal, but equally, I also find it hard to  believe the most sucessful F1 team at the moment has such a woeful record of malfunctions. Especially as they seem to gravitate toward Webber. Seb has only had to deal with one dodgy gearbox. But perhaps with the WDC out of his reach, Webber is challenging Paul DiResta for the ...... Luck Award.

And if you want to believe RBR treat both drivers fairly, then that's your perogative. Personally I think Christian Horner makes one hell of a politician. Hell, I'd vote for him. Although I'd feel dirty afterwards.

I'd rather see Vettel vs Alonso in the same car. Kimi is too particular about setup, and although Kimi is my favourite driver, I'd rate Nando as the most complete driver on the grid at the moment. For what it's worth, I may not like Vettel, but I do rate his skill and would never claim it's soley the car. But it's equally ill informed to suggest Vettel's RB9 is not a masterpiece of engineering and aerodynamics. You could put almost any driver on the grid in that car and they'd win races. The debate is if they could win championships.

Now this we can agree on. I'd like to see Torro Rosso make Da Costa wait another year and give Jaime another swing at it. Last I heard he was still testing for Pirelli.

You need to be an ... on here to get a decent reaction por fuera ;)

Red bull being less than reliable is true for both riders.anybody watched 2010 ?

The thing about eyebrows is just that...would we talk about him like this if there wasn't santander?

You seem to know your .... so I'm sure you're laughing at the claim anybody can win in the rb ;)

Webber was one of the best qualifiers snd judged as one of the top 5 until seb destroyed him

Hell I'm paid to be an ... in my day job. I have the skills when necessary. ;)

Webber was one of the greats and still has flashes of brilliance, but I concede only an ..... would say he's as good as Vettel. I don't like him because I hate to see arrogance validated, but good is good.

and note I said 'almost' anyone on the grid in the RB9. :D Realistically I think maybe 2 thirds of them and even then, not all consistently. I'd happily put money on Ricciardo winning some races next year though. I think people are in for a bt of a surprise as to how good he is. And that's the real reason behind my other post. I just hope RBR don't just shoehorn him into being a number 2. He could genuinely give Seb a good run at it in 2015 with the proper support.

Debatable I guess as he probably wouldn't have landed any of the top drives on his own, but IMO he's the only positive example of a pay driver, and I still maintain in the same car (and said car being neither a RB or Ferrari) a race between him and Vettel would be worth paying some good money to watch.

100% agree

I think we can be fairly sure that ricciardo will get a decent shot , contrary to Mercedes and especially Ferrari there just has not been any atrocious example of enforced team orders.webber is just awesome at whining and twisting things to his benefit

(Open challenge to list and ddiscuss any alleged situations ;) )

Multi 21? :p

Although the fact they even have a code for it shows it must happen an unfortunate number of times. I think to be fair all top teams are guilty of it from time to time. Even my beloved Lotus. 'Kimi is faster than you' oh really? So you're implying he doesn't have the skill to overtake then? It's why McLaren will always have a place in my heart. They're much more open to let their drivers go for it.

On a different note, Here are some photos I've taken (mentioned in a different thread, but this seems to be the only spot to shove em)

Now guess why I'm sucking off seb. He doesn't give a .... about teamorders and didn't go all crutchlow ehh webber when orders in his best interest were ignored.

Cool collection of pics , I'd love to see more silver arrow/ vintage engine stuff

No doubt, just playing devils advocate.

Not really a surprising move, I think Vettel will be happy not to be challenged to hard for the first season at least (I imagine), in the long run I don't think Red Bull have hired a number 2 driver, they will want him to succeed.

I get it, and if someone started a motion to abolish team orders, I'd be first in line to back it. But I think what Seb did is the equivalent of using superglue in an egg and spoon race. Webber turned his engine down as ordered, and Vettel steamed past on a quicker setting. He may have been able to pass him naturally, but we will never know. And more importantly Seb knew his teammate would be a sitting duck once he obeyed the team orders. If he had had a chat with Mark before the race and they both agreed to ignore orders, that would've been awesome. But what we actually got wasnt impressive either.

I wouldn't think he was such a .... about it either if he had just picked a story and stuck to it. 'I'm sorry'/'I'm not sorry'/'.... you I'm going to bleach my hair'

More pics that are as close to meeting your request as I can get ie vintage and one of them is in bits. I do have a photo of the stupidly expensive Fangio car somewhere but I'm buggered if I can find it.

I'm happy to debunk the myth.

Telemetry is working one way , which leaves ALL engine settings in the drivers hands.

You can see webber pushing like crazy and defending as if his first name was Michael as soon as seb gets near.

To think he did so on a less than good engine map says 2 things to me :

1. People don't know an awful lot about the cars and don't watch properly

2.everybody assumes webber is mentically handicapped and ccan't turn a knob.

Or maybe it's 3. Webber knew he had nothing for seb so rather be the darling of the english media than lose fair and square.

It's not that I'm so much of a vettel fan , I just detest webbers antics and am happy to expose him all times possible

I agree with Cliche, Webber has an awful habit of playing the 'poor me, I'm so hard done' by card. When Webber pulls a stunt on Vettel, Seb is man enough to just let it go. When Webber has any excuse he runs to the press and whines about how unfair everything is. That's what most annoys me about him!

Lovely pics 14X, very nice indeed, ta muchly for posting those :)
