Marquez on pole. Huge race tomorrow for his championship defence, he could extend his lead by 10+ points. Dovi could catch Rossi, at least will really close up on him for second. Lorenzo will leap frog Vinales and look to start closing in on Rossi and Dovi.
Except for PI you would favour the Ducati over Yamaha at most of the tracks coming up so it seems inevitable that Lorenzo and Dovi will finish second and third IMO.
MM is going to have his work cut out for him since he barely took pole from AD.
All in all, great lap from him to take pole at a circuit I thought would be a Ducati 1-2 on the grid. He gets through the turns quite fast so he's going to have to make up all his time there since he isn't going to be beating the Ducati's on the straights. Will be an interesting battle to see how AD gets past assuming he gets past.
I would still back the Ducatis to 1-2 tomorrow but I would be surprised if Rossi ends up in the top 5 as well. So I expect a decent lead increase for Marquez tomorrow.
Hardly any offs this weekend in the GPs. In fact I think Simeon is the only one in FP4. Considering the conditions over the 2 days, that's quite impressive.Marquez has been crashing a lot less recently in free practice. He's in excellent shape, but this is a Ducati track.
The podium will be MM, AD and JL but it's difficult to predict the order.

I came across this video and not really sure what to make of it. Its not something i've seen a factory/team do and trying to understand the 'why'. Interested in others opinions.

That looks like public shaming of a race engineer.
Yamaha are acting like weirdos.
Anyone see uccio during qp last night? Vale pulled in and is relaying feedback the fella with a laptop, all Uccio can do; with a tissue in his hand because he has been promoted from ipad holder to lens clarity facilitator, is try and get in the way and act like Rossi is talking to him.
Eventually he proffers the tissue at which VR scrunches it up in hand.
Also why does he insist on wearing a peaked cap under the safety helmet? He is making a mockery of pit lane safety regulations.
Did you miss the bike surfing?Hardly any offs this weekend in the GPs. In fact I think Simeon is the only one in FP4. Considering the conditions over the 2 days, that's quite impressive.
Certainly looks likely to be the podium but, as you say, in what order is too close to call.
When I saw this news , I knew for sure that there will be little ....... here that will claim this is Rossi doing something behind the scenes.
Here are the facts: Vinales has been way more vocal than Rossi about Yamaha’s fuckups. So much that Yamaha has to silence him more than once (Not counting his split with his crew chief).
Rossi has been pretty tame in his public feedback, he hoped they will bring an update for the Brno rest which they didn’t. He was still rather diplomatic about it.
Yamaha already admitted they screwed up, during the technical heads media brief (which I guarantee the mouthbreathers here didn’t watch ). If you know anything about Japanese culture and business etiquette, which I am sure most of you don’t, there’s a lot to pick up from the choice of words and body language.
This is just a continuation of the same. This is a factory that knows that they are letting two very fast riders down and vows to fix it.
I expect the 2019 M1 to be a firebreathing dragon.
It sort of has the vibe of a man being publically humiliated by his peers. A man who knows that the next time this happens, there is a good chance he will find himself seated at a table across from both riders, then be forced to offer them his pinky finger wrapped up in a tissue pre-soaked with his tears.

Hey don't knock Uccio..he's got handing tissues out down to a fine art..you take his tissues away and he won't know what the .... to do with himself. That looks like public shaming of a race engineer.
