You might be interested in reading what Rossi said in an interview to an Italian magazine recently, when he was asked to name the strong and weak points of his main competitors and himself:

Stoner --strong: raw speed --weak: too emotional

Lorenzo --strong: determination --weak: prone to mistakes

Rossi --strong: consistency --weak: age

Probably fairly accurate, although I don't think age has wearied him over much; perhaps at 5 or 6 years younger lorenzo and stoner have a slight neurological edge in terms of raw speed of reflexes etc.

btw and I am not sure you were adressing me specfically my point in my last post was actually not to criticise valentino for whom as you know I have great respect, but rather to refute a specious argument. The michelin tyres were fairly obviously not as good as the bridgestones in 2007, but it is also possible that in the recent estoril qualifying stoner's softer tyres did not work as well as he had hoped after the performance of the harder compound, which is basically all that he said

General pressure is down , except that he HAS to perform today! He don't need to win but he should be in the podium fight, preferably with all four of the fast ones reaching the chequered flag. Fading today would be very bad for him especially as he himself declared the crises to be over yesterday when he claimed that he had proven all critics to be wrong.

No disagreement from me on this point. There would perhaps be possible excuses, but it would not be good if he felt the need to make them.

Judging by that warm up we could be in for one of those rare races where the motogp race will be as exciting as a 125\250 race

Its great to have Casey back

HELP! I only had live timing for the warm-up - no feed... WTF was up with Edwards? Do I need to change my picks at MGP.cpm? HELP anyone!

You saw him go into Kallio then?

Left the Pramac team mouths wide open

stoner = fastest rider on earth
rossi = most consistant rider and experienced
horhey = fast but too many mistakes and chokes

I did and I've seen alot worse. Casey was just doggin it for the corner and over cooked it and bumped off Mika. Nothing major

I dont mind a bit of fairing bashing. This is not a girls sport

Dude, fairing bashing in warm-up is mega bad form... fairing bashing in race is one of the reasons we love this "not a girl's sport". BTW have you ever watched ladies field hockey?

Oh yeah, still lookin' for a warm-up synopsis from someone... why was Colie last?

I'm sure Casey did not do it on purpose or had any malice intenet. In my eyes it was an accident, sure its bad form but its bound to happen. As for Colin yesterday he was saying that as he was setting the bike up for more traction it was causing front end issues and that he was just going round in circles trying to find a balance between both. My only guess would be that he tried some set up that did'nt work.

Fark he can cast then as there ain't no fishing at Uluru.

But warm-up should be treated as practice and therefore race and used to iron out problems, confirm settings etc which of course requires race-pace to be carried. This naturally means that mistakes will happen and of course at a greater speed than a gentle 'tour' and likely was simply wrong place and time for Kallio (have not sen footage, just responding to posts)
