one in motogp since the existance of BSB, so we're near equals on that level, but count the world superbike champions we have produced compared to yours.

Yeah, like they were gonna support a Canadian over a mediocre guy with an interesting passport. Fuken wake up, this is the reality of your beloved but political sport.

Don't ..... about politics harming guys from North Americans when the 80's was completely run by you guys, and one of the best circuits on the calender has just been dropped in exchange for a second US round at a .... track.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (MigsAngel @ Jul 6 2007, 01:51 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Mladin did jump in 1993 to GPs on a Cagiva. His best finish that year was 6th, and his overall placement wsa 13th. So in short he got smoked by the GP regulars on the global scene. Yes, you can say that was the era of the greatest of the great, but that would be making excuses. Maybe we can say it was the bike, but again more excuses...the great ride through issues and problems, the mediocre just find ways to explain why it never happened for them. Weird to think though, that Barros in 1993 came in 6th place...damn he's been around for along time and can still ride with the best for an old guy!

Duhamel has a similar experience in GPs back in 1992. Eitherway, neither set the world a light with their performances, so were relagated to a domestic series like the AMA were the wining is not about the best rider on Race day.

An excerpt From http://www.superbikeplanet.com/f004.htm regarding mediocre Matt.

When those results didn't surface, and when he needed the encouragement of the team to keep going, they instead hired John Kocinski, took Mladin's good bikes and crew for John and left Mat with the leper equipment and mechanics. Those who saw it will never forget it--the 1993 USGP when in qualifying Mat stopped on pit road for adjustments and none of the Cagiva mechanics would come over to help him. They instead waited by the pit wall for Kocinski and even second-rate Chandler to come in. It was as if Mladin had an infectious disease.

Piss poor excuse really, should have won the championship with that backing.

That sucks for him...Team bosses took a hard line decsion on his performance and not delivering so they decide to put their money elsewhere...sounds like Biaggi in 2005 with Repsol Honda...

Would Mladin have beaten Hayden in 2002 if he Mat had been healthy?

Question time, Do you think Hayden would have won his AMA SBK title in 2002 if Mladin been healthy?

Answer from me; No, I think Nicky got lucky with the real champ having problems in 2002 and 2006.
[/quote]

Lucky? WTF! I suppose Honda had the foresight to know he would get lucky again in 2006 when they brought him over to race MotoGP? You don't get that kind of ride from Honda based on luck.

thats not old...just cause he's not 15 like some of the people on here doesn't mean ........
plus!....his wife is HAWT!

Duhamel is 39.

Piccie of Miguel and his wife...

Just FYI, they are running the SBK race after the MotoGP race to help with traffic. They're hoping that half the people will leave after MotoGP and the other half will stay for AMA.

I sure as hell hope so, I don't want to wait in traffic for 6 hours!

Duhamel will be at full fitness for the MGP race. It should be interesting.

Also, bigger pics of Duhamel's wife required.

somebody needs to start in on him!...... with a whip!

It's probably a thank you from Honda. He always has a smile on his face and has been a loyal Honda racer representative. I remember when he went to Harley and almost always fought at the front until that smoking POS blew it's diaper and literally burned track side. He even grew out a gotee beard while he road that thing.

He may not be the pure talent that Bayliss is but he is cut in the mold and tuff as a bucks horn. He is a cagey vet and has a good a shot at being in the mix as any USA talent.

Yes I did see him take down Mladin last week.
<

I am glad he got the nod and I am sure he will give it his all and not disappoint.

He's not only Canadian but Fraaanch Canadian

Dude he's won loads of minor league titles, why should I be impressed? He's the equivalent of a 600SS and Superstock champ over here, it's nothing impressive.
