Ok he needs to release the song in English first of all, his voice is pretty good, song isn't though!

It's not really awful guys... not bad, but not great either. However, it's somehow a good start.
Nice choice of melody (even though I don't understand a word he's saying): Jacques and the producer of the song stuck with a lively and fresh song rather that listeners could quickly get into, in contrast to other artists that would rather launch rock or pop albums --- which, in these days, are the more popular genres.
Plus, I think the producers know that there is a market for Villenueve, may be not internationally, but in Canada. They decided to capitalize on that fan base. Sometimes, it's not really the voice that pushes a singer to success, but the amount of fans s/he has. I've seen great singers who are nowhere now because people just don't turn up.
All that said, I still think he should stick with driving in F1. I mean, it's fun doing it once or twice but not really a fall back I would recommend for him.

"BMW Sauber test driver Robert Kubica will become the first Pole to contest a Formula One Grand Prix next weekend when he stands in for Jacques Villeneuve at the Hungaroring. Villeneuve has opted to miss the race following his crash in last Sunday’s German round.
"Jacques has informed us that he is not ready to race after his Hockenheim accident,” confirmed BMW Motorsport Director Mario Theissen. “Robert has made an outstanding impression with the team so far, both in testing and on the Friday of the race weekends. Now we will see how he performs in a Formula One race.”
Kubica, 21, is looking forward to the new challenge: "I had prepared myself for a whole year without actually competing in any races, so I'm even happier to get this opportunity. And I'm proud that the BMW Sauber F1 Team has such confidence in me. I'm determined not to let them down."
