DONE DEAL, Hayden rides Ducati next year

i always believed nicky would stay at ducati. If anybody can put the work in to make that bike more used friendly ,nicky can. im sure thats what ducati really want at this stage.

and watch his results go back downhill from here. his place is on average a midpack finisher

Good decision by Ducati...the revolving door has stopped at least for one year.

Double edged sword, but I think he didn't have many options. Ducati=Suzuki/Kawasaki

As forum posters go, Pinky isn't even in last place. He's a tedious bottom-feeder.
Wrong all the time and too stupid to see it.

YESSS thought so! most logical step!

hes becoming faster and faster, better and better....why not sign him again?

good thing!

I still think Ducati needed to keep Nicky around. He has proven more capable of taming the machine than the previous two. Ducati needs someone who can develop the bike for future riders. When you have riders openly claiming they don't want to ride your machine because it's too difficult, thats a problem going forward. Nicky thru the off season tests and 2010 will give them the development they need to make a more competitive bike going forward. It's a good deal for Nicky and Ducati. As an aside, from most observers, Nicky and Casey seem to get along well and I suspect thats' a real plus in the garage also. Introducing a difficult personality was not going to improve team morale. Nicky and Casey are a good match.

New bike in 2010 for Ducati, should be a different season.

Tru nuff. But if he can keep clear of Kallio - I don't think he'll regret another year at Ducati.

How do you figure. Nicky has been finishing better than the Zooks or the Kawi in recent races. Even Kallio bested the Zooks and Kawi in Indy (yes yes, the crashes, I know but still) The Ducati seems to have more power than the current Zook and the Kawi is finished. Better the Ducati than either of those me thinks..........

Huh? Levi, juicy tidbit of info, haven't heard that. I was thinking it was past time for Ducati to do this.

I don't think Nicky has ever been in doubt at Ducati, really.
I'm convinced the chase after Lorenzo was meant to replace Stoner. We will probably never know what is happening between Stoner and Ducati, but something is definitely happening that isn't just health or training related, imo

When I say new, I'm sure there will be significant changes to the geometry, kind of like what they have done in testing for Nicky. They have also alluded to changes with the swingarm and other components. A completely new bike no.........but one that appeals to Nicky more, I'm sure. This season, Nicky had to try to learn to ride Casey's bike, just like Marco and Loris. I think Casey gets his bike and Nicky gets his if you know what I mean.

You NH lovers all have a couple of things in common - can't face reality - look at 07, 08, 09 he's certainly off the podium than he's on it - you can't count, but I'll be kind - he's moving to the front part of the mid-field. But no way is he part of the pointed end

Sounds like the only variable left is Spies.

So what?? There are only 4 riders of 18 capable of winning. Should we just scuttle the rest of the series? Perhaps they can have 4 bikes on the grid, you know just so we don't have to watch the back markers and such. If Nicky can capture an occasional podium while providing bike sales to Ducati he is achieving the desired outcome.

I don't think anyone other than one of the top four riders will challenge for the title. Same problem in F1, same problem in Indy cars, same problem in many many sports.

What's your point?

Yup!! I think Ben will have to decide and announce before he knows for sure if he will end the season the champ or not. I've always felt that if he wins the title he leaves WSBK. If he doesn't then he stays to take the title in 2010. But now??? I think his intentions will be made before the end of the SBK season???
