I still think Ducati needed to keep Nicky around. He has proven more capable of taming the machine than the previous two. Ducati needs someone who can develop the bike for future riders. When you have riders openly claiming they don't want to ride your machine because it's too difficult, thats a problem going forward. Nicky thru the off season tests and 2010 will give them the development they need to make a more competitive bike going forward. It's a good deal for Nicky and Ducati. As an aside, from most observers, Nicky and Casey seem to get along well and I suspect thats' a real plus in the garage also. Introducing a difficult personality was not going to improve team morale. Nicky and Casey are a good match.
New bike in 2010 for Ducati, should be a different season.
