Thats the most whiny comment I've heard this year, more than anything thats come from Stoner!

IR

not the usual comment from Vale

i am sure his head is well down and rightly so .

the media though have poetic licence and sometimes as you know state things that are completely out of the context of the interview.

saying that i am sure he would love this year to be well and truly over - now rather than later

Thats a direct quote, I don't think it was misinterpreted in any way, because that would be illegal.

yes i am sure that is the case

my only point is that i am sure the interview was more in depth than was quoted by the BBC meaning that we only saw a small snippit of what the interview was about and cant fully appreciate what was totally said.

your still right though

a moan is a moan and he should just get on with it even if it is not under his control

i would be pissed though by whats going on at the moment. if i was on a michelin shod machine

Wtf? How is that as whiny as 'this track is too bumpy and too slippery!'?
<

It doesn't sound whiny to me, upset whiny maybe, but not whiny. He's just stating he's not having fun, which is what it's all about.

<
Oh please. So i guess he should say Yamaha and Mich have been kicking ... all year he's just lost his speed.

get over it..and stop throwing fuel on the fire.

Maybe Michelin is coming around though. In Monday's testing after the race,Michelin tested some new stuff and even though Stoner was still fastest,Michelin riders were 2nd,3rd, and 4th.I really wish this tire issue would go away because its looking more and more like the likely culprit of this run away season is Stoner and the Ducati, not all about the tires which some would lead you to believe. Its a shame that some are not giving either their well earned praise.

"I prefer to do something else than race if I have to race like this. is hardly whinning, its what i would expect any world class racer to feel when he is getting his ... kicked through no fault of his own. how would you feel in his situation ir ??
i wouldn't mind betting he said it with a bit of humor as well but the bbc dont use smilies like we do.

I agree completely!!

Well well. What would you expect? Rossi fans saying he's NOT whining--how rare. (sarcasm emoticon) He's whining. period.

Normally, I'd be inclined to write a few paragraphs making a case how this is, in fact, ungracious whining; however, I kinda feel sorry for Rossi, so he's getting a bit of a pass from me today. It’s so uncharacteristic for somebody so good as Rossi not to be able to win more consistently with a sub-par package. The Yamaha must be terrible and he’s totally complimenting his bike if you consider how his world champion teammate is doing on a similar package.

Ooops, that works kinda reverse if you consider Stoner's teammate. Hmmm... (think about it)

Oh well, I'm just clad it wasn't Hayden talking about going back to dirt track since the Honda sucks. (Unlike his teammate who threatened to move to Kawasaki, even while they had made public he wasn’t even one they were considering, there goes his negotiating leverage).

mabe the cruisin caretaker does whine but nobody can understand wtf he is saying.

i think rossi is justified in saying what he did, he is being made to look past his prime when he clearly is not. i bet you hayden is saying similar things to those close to him. made me laugh when i read "stoner is not whinning" well of course he isn't, because he is winning. you would have to be a right prick to moan with that much of a points lead !

The things i've read from Rossi recently he sounds pretty down on motogp as a whole, if hes not careful he'll sulk his way out of any further success and eventually out of the sport. If he's not up for it hes not gonna win anything, i hope he can refresh himself over the off season, no matter what it takes.

i think your reading to much into this and other press storys tom.
i dont think he is sulking at all, i think he is planning, enjoy the silence before the storm non rossi fans.

Roger, I agree with you. Yes, Hayden is probably saying it privately. I think Rossi can say something about his package; however, he needs to be very careful how he phrases it because in this case it sure looks like whining. Especially the part where he threatens to hang up his tennis shoes if he doesn't get a better package. Sounds almost like Melandri saying he wasn't gonna try for positions because his bike wasn't up to par. Sure, you may feel like that, but don't say it in public and to a reporter no less.

Look, back in the day I would have done a TE impersonation reading such a quote by Rossi, but now I see he (Rossi) is eating a bit of humble pie. I can relate to his troubles being that I feel my guy (Hayden) is suffering from the effects of a similar inferior package and has led some ignorant people to believe he is not (as with Rossi) as good as they really can be. Just know that if you make your comments public, people will jump all over it.

The thing is its not a silence at all, and his body language and the tone of his interviews just sounds too down for my liking. On the other hand of course its Rossi, if you're gonna have faith in anyone it may as well be him. He knows he is beaten this year and i'm sure hes gonna work hard to get on Stoners level, but if he fails i wouldn't expect him to be here in 2009.

Sore loser!

This is just his games to cause emotion. Ohhh....Let's all give Rossi a big hug tap his back!

wretched guy, what a pity!
<

1: MICHELIN: Who obligates Yamaha to work with Michelin? Try Bridgestone or Dunlop.

2: THE BIKE: Isn't the M1 the best bike in the world, according to Edwards?
<

3: YAMAHA: Who obligates him to keep with Yamaha? Yamaha is the problem? Get out!

4: STONER: Isn't Rossi the best? So, Stoner is not the problem...right?
<

5: DUCATI: Rossi have his chance to go with Ducati. If he didn't give credits for the Italian team, so, this is not the problem.

6: TYRE RULES: Does Rossi have the power to decide the rules? If so, I'll stop watching this sport, 'cause THIS would be unfunny.

The man is a sore loser, with no doubts.

Im going to put things in simple terms.....

Rossi Def is by far the best rider on the grid. Stoner couldnt handle the Michelin tyres even last year

It sounds like frustration to me ... pretty normal human emotion! He is after all human ... sometimes we can forget that!

I'd back seeing a resurgent Rossi in 2008!

I've been giving this some thought and I can't bring myself to criticise Rossi for saying this. In fact I have to stick up for him. This ain't sore loosing, the guy has nothing to lose. What will put more of a fire under Yamaha/Michelin's ...? Him zipping up and talking it on the chin like a girl OR going all out and publicly expressing his disgust? He's Valentino ....... Rosssi!!! It's all business. What else can he do? If he's going to have a go at Yamaha/Michelin for supplying non winning equipment, he might as well not miss them and hit the wall. It'll wake those fuckers up. Where's that bourbon???

You would have to be a complete fool to see that as anything other than publically lighting a fire under the ..... of Yamaha & Michelin.

This: "I don't think anyone likes the tyre situation. There's no battle any more." Is obviously an answer to a direct question, & thus taken out of context.
