I would imagine Yamaha at least want to keep Edwards around in some capicity to develop their bikes, be interesting to see how they work that out.

Awesome vids Jum!

You should take some time to browse through the other Saturday Night Live skits. It was a recurring character. I posted another vid in the '58 inch Penguin's gone postal' thread.

Apparently not - it seems the ride is his as long as he wants no salary and he won't do that. He is in talks with a couple of WSBK teams, I know BMW is one.

Im ok with it if a non european calls me british. I would not tollerate someone in the British Isles calling me British. If a European called me british id call him european regardless of where in europe he if from cos its the same thing.

Calling a scott irish is very dangrous, it's is to do with the catholic / proterstant thing. Take the troubles in Northern ireland and the Celtic v Rangers football matches for an example. The Irish didnt just flee to America, they fled into Scotland aswell. When i was in America last month i was continually asked if i were Austrailian which started to get my back up but i suppose they may get more oz visiters there than English.

Hey chops, you should be honored to be considered as Australian

I still say it was the hat,..............................and if I could work out how to post a pic on this site I'd post one, however if you go to one of the Laguna threads you'll see what i mean.

Doesn't Laverty want to move to MotoGP? Since Yam is pulling out of WSBK next season, he's out of a ride for now. Though I'm not sure he's much of an upgrade over Crutchlow, they seem to on the same talent level. I'm guessing Laverty will need to find another team in WSBK because I do not hear of him getting promoted to MotoGP.

I'd rather see Cal than Laverty on a GP bike personally, don't think he'd set the Heather on fire.

Pete

I think Cal's doing great and I'd keep him over Edwards. Cal looks fast, while Edwards looks like he should be up the front but never is.

Also, this whole rookie rule ........ is wrong. If Cal can only ride for a rookie team in his first year then some old tnuc shouldn't be taking the only other yam rookie spot.

I think Crutchlow is doing horribly. He looked good off the start, I cannot deny that, and I was hoping for him to keep going but things have turned around nastily. 15th in points, leading only the godawful Pramac team, is not where you want to be to secure a seat.

As far as Edwards, don't expect him back. Poncheral offered him the seat with zero salary and Edwards is not interested in riding for free (yes, I know that there is other money to be had) and Yamaha is not going to cough anything up. He is the first placed satellite rider in the series and at this point you cannot expect the satellite bikes among the factory equipment. His riding is good but he's pretty ripe to be riding for laughs. I think you are going to find him on the MotoGP Seniors Tour, er, I mean WSBK.

I agree and that was my point at the start of the thread. If it wasn't for the fact he has a deal in place for next year, would he have a seat ?

Read some of the press this week and it does seem to point to the fact Cal himself realises that he may have lost a bit of confidence and that he should be doing better. He is getting smacked down by Colin on the points front.

I have always like Cal from watching him in BSB, but I gotta say that I have always rated Norge as highly, if not higher. Its hard to say because its pure speculation, but i do feel that Laverty could have achieved at least the same and probably better this year if he was riding Cal's bike.
