Early last year some folk where in disbelief that Dovi was a contender. I was in disbelief of their disbelief because I always felt Dovi has skills.

But Cal ??? Is he a contender?

Nobody has even mentioned it but Cal currently leads the WC!

I don't think he'll be world champion but my words often come back to bite me so.....

Does it need to be mentioned that only two races have been completed? Revisit this thread at the season halfway point.

And your point is? Barry's statement is 100% correct. At this moment in time, Crutchlow is the first Brit to lead the world championship in 29 years, and there you are trying to diminish it.

He's a talented rider. Sure his mouth writes cheques his riding can't cash sometimes but it's funny how Edwards was admired for 'telling it how it is' yet Crutchlow is deemed a talker when he has won 3 times the GP races Edwards did.

I love his attitude, his reaction in Parc Ferme yesterday was hilarious. "Yeah I knew I could win, I said so yesterday had I qualified better"....and he did this time

Yeah but Cal was a guy who always respected and defended Stoner when the boppers would get too hissy. That was good enough for me.
But now add to that ... time is showing he is becoming quite the rider himself.

I think his statements after winning just reflect how happy he is with what he has just achieved.

I also very much agreed with the words he said at the beginning of the post race press conference. Cal is one of the very few genuine "old school" guys left in this sport.

I'd like to see him fight for the title, too, but IMHO he is a bit too erratic. I'd be happy to take these words back tho.

All that has to happen is that the rest of the season has to have wierdarse races.

I have a budding new theory about Cal.....

Normal race ...... Cal is wierdarse

Wierdarse race ..... all the top guys who are playing the ultra dont do anything wrong be stable line .... fall to pieces. Cal being wierarse .... is right at home lol..

Fingers crossed for more wirdarse races. They sure are interesting!

If Cal was to win it (no I don't think he can) I'd love it, here is a guy who doesn't give a .... what people think of him.
In a fight I'd rather have him alongside than the rest of them put together.

Cal can not win it, here is why: Marquez.

all the bull .... aside, Marquez was the fastest rider in Argentina... only one rider has been able to take on MM and that is Dovi, however Ducati is to hot and cold.

Nick Harris is saying 39 years almost. Sheene led the start of the 79 season. Has there been someone Im missing or did your maths get rossified?

The odd race win yes, but motogp world champion??,more chance of a Stoner comeback...in fact make that a Doohan comeback.
