apparently they are starting construction in February this year.
That gives them 18 months to be ready for the 2017 gp.
I call ........ it will be ready, it took COTA 18 months in Texas who has 40 days rain or so a year. Compared to Wales that has if lucky 40 days of sunshine a year.
They're gonna build it for what?
The remaining two races on their contract.
I cannot see the business sense

The same language was being used when they initially signed to host a race. Here it is 2 years later and they haven't broke ground yet. I bet it never gets built.
 
Funny the text says 6000 jobs but does not define them as 'full-time' as the call-out does. 6000 ft jobs is an insane estimate. Also read elsewhere that there is no indication whether Aviva will be fully funding or seeding...
 
Exactly. Like I say, I work in a place that has about 1800 full time staff and it is a huge factory that runs 24/7 and covers 1.5million sq feet.

Look at most race circuits except for big race weekends. They have a skeleton staff and look desolate. Sure, they may get some companies there in industial units and some auto manufacturers using the track for testing. They may get probably a dozen people running the karting track full time and then say 30 people running a hotel..so I say maybe 100-200 full time jobs if that!

The other issue is, they are likely to be tied up in court battles with MSV and the BRDC because both Silverstone and all of MSV's (Owned by Jonathan Palmer) circuits have been refused government funding and assistance in the past, whereas COW is supposedly getting a £30m loan from the Welsh government.

Perhaps Valentino is planning to relocate his entire merchandising operation there...much like when he went incognito in London but forgot to tell the taxman.
 
Interesting to note that Assen Circuit has just 18 full time employees....
