chris vermeulen

He's so young yet but HRC think highly of him and to be honest I see it in him, he has the same talent Nicky Hayden posesses. He will be a championship contender within a couple of years.

most pundits say hes so hard to pass which puts u in a good position concidering in moto gp u need to look after ur tyres, i hope he moves soon,

I think HRC will give him to the end of 2006 to win the World Superbike title before they move him up to the big show. I don't know Biaggi's contract situation but I don't believe it is anymore than a year or two and Hayden's contract expires after 2006. I would expect HRC will want Vermeulen in the Repsol garage once one of their slots open.

he is a good rider but it seems as if he is struggling against the suzukis this season at the moment compared to last season when he was up htere fighting for the podium with the top dogs on a regular basis.if its just machinery we should know soon.i think motogp is a step too far for him at the moment though

At the moment I have a hard time thinking negatively about him. He is an extremely young talent who shows enormous potential on a bike that hasn't showed us much in WSB spec. Especially compared to a vastly superior Suzuki machine and an experienced, focused, and driven rider in Troy Corser. By 2007 he will be riding a Honda in MotoGP.

Very Good Rider.

Dont know much about his career apart from the fact he was '03 World supersport champ and had some very good rides in BSB or BSS a few years back on a honda.

We all saw him in WSB in '04 tho and look what he did at monza this year?

Very mature, very fast and only 22/23?

Definately one of MotoGP's future stars

, in fact... yep, i'd put money on him being World Champ in a couple years.

Has'nt he already tested an RCV?

From what I have seen, def has potential, BUT none of the WSBK riders that have come to GP have really done anything worthwile! will Chris be any different? I would put Casey Stoner or Randy De Puniet on a GP bike before Chris! oh and Dovi and Pedrossa!

My 2c, and Hi to everyone

As far as Superbike riders adjusting to MotoGP it comes down to two things. Learning new tracks and adapting riding styles. Learning the tracks comes with time, everyone knows that and there is a leaniance for a rider to understand them. Vermeulen is so young so he has plenty of time to adapt his style just as Nicky Hayden, Makoto Tamada, John Hopkins, and Ruben Xaus are doing. The reason Colin Edwards and Troy Bayliss, in particular, are having a more difficult time adapting is because they are older. You can teach an old dog new tricks, however the dog has to want to learn the new tricks and physically must be able to do so. Bayliss has said outright that he won't change his style and it is hard to kick old habits when you have been doing it for so long as Bayliss and Edwards have.

Thanks for the welcome, I just found the intro page so have posted a lil hello in there.

My main point is that I think to be a good rider in Gp you stand a much better chance going through the ranks of GP rather than switching from WSB at a later date. I understand what you are saying re learning the tracks, but Hayden has had 2 years on a moto gp bike in arguably the most well funded team and still hasnt done didly squat. Hopkins has been around and hasnt had the best machinery but still didnt do .... in the wet, then along come OJ, 250cc champ, hasnt been on a bike for 16 months and rips a beautiful result.

My side of the argument

Cheers

I agree with you that the best path to MotoGP glory is through the GP ranks of 125s and 250s. However, I think you'll be proved wrong by Hayden and Hopkins by the end of the year.

I hope you are right, thats what is missing from GP. more faces on the podiums, imagine 5 or 6 riders battling all year, sharing wins. It was 2 years ago, the 125's didnt have the same winner all season! now thats a series!

You are exactly right supafly, I hope those two in particular start battling for podiums and wins, but I would like to see anyone new up there. Xaus, Elias, Bayliss, Nakano, anyone really.

to b fair ron rossi has it all so ok we talk lots on rossi but he is the best, u lot talk other rider up so much then say rossi hasnt got any 1 to challenge him
