I dont think anyone has any doubts about his aspirations. The big Q is how will he respond when and if Rossi starts turning the screw. Will he start points racing like Nicky did last year or will he continue to go balls out and try to take it to him.

My guess .... balls out! He seems very happy where he is now (from what I have read) ... why change what you are doing! He really is on a roll!

FP2 Casey's time is 1:22:727 and is nearly 3/4 of second faster than Melandri in Second place....so balls out I think so for Casey! (1 minute ago)...now Rossi in Second by 6 tenths of a second behind Casey's time..

Casey is out for Rossi style head games and dominance in 2007...remember also Casey has not won a GP title yet, so he will have to go balls out to take the big prize...whether he likes it or not...

Casey has already staed that he has reached and suppassed his own expectations for this season and ducatis as well for that matter.

dont forget he was not ducatis first choice this year as melandri was had to withdraw becuase of contract obligations from Fausto.

i am not sure of his alledged aspirations for this years title are genuine or he is just happy to be on a bike whos team and factory are behind him 100% .

imo he just goes from strength to strength race after race and his mind games are taking it to the other front runners wher other riders can only aspire and look on from behind

Krusty, its only half way through the season. Yes, he is doing great! Yes, yes. But don't call it in just yet. We get it--the guy is for real. But so is the competition. Let the season play out. There will be plenty of time to brag and defend the champion, who ever that is when the time comes.

Yeah, I think his aspirations are pretty clear. I don't have any doubts, but like you said it's about how he will respond if Rossi will come closer in points.
I'm sure he's gonna fight hard, and I don't think he will only be calculated, if he has chances to beat Rossi, he will do so, he showed us he aint scared of a battle with the Doctor, and because of that, he has a good chance of winning the title (imo).

Pretty sure its looking like another epic Stoner/Rossi battle this weekend. As for Stoner, he's done enough this season already to shut just about everyone up. I think it may very well go down to the last race of the season to determine who is gonna be champion. Anyway, Stoner has secured his place in motoGP for a long time to come, so he's gotta be happy with that.

I'm certainly not "calling it in"! As you say, it is a long way to go! I was really referring to where his head is at the moment ... I'm a huge fan of #46 so this season is Christmas to me! I have a lot of admiration for Casey ... he has taken the "5th in line" opportunity with Ducati, trusted his talent and shown himself to be a "special" rider!

!. i hope so

2.not quite, he has won a handful of races, thats all, theres a lot of races left.

3.yeah right ! just look at hayden and he won a championship.

To me Hayden doesnt have near the talent that Stoner has, but I'm sure a lot of people will beg to differ!

Nobody has won from pole for a long time (this season) ... that will change Sunday!

I actually agree with you!!
I'm not saying Nicky is bad, he's obviously good, you don't win a title on pure luck, so he is good enough, but I don't think he has the talent Stoner has. Also think Pedrosa is better than him.

I also agree that on talent Stoner has the edge on Stoner, and now hes able to show it we all realize how good Casey is.
