Given the taste...I say it'll be very sweet! Those two: they bring out the BEST and the BEAST in each other!

great race .... all credits to caparossi, talk about on a mission!

really felt for hayden ... that was a big blow ...

and KJR! Skid! .... all hail your correct-nesss...

Great Race though I wish the fight Jr won was at the front rather than for 4th, however I'm sure he will be up there by the last race. He did seem to get stuck in though which unfortunately, we missed because of Rossi and Pedrosa battling for 2nd. 2nd fastest Honda though that is a real acheivement and fastest Honda in qualifying..... the bike must be pretty good! Good to see the Championship is still fairly open with Hayden not having such a good race. Bring on the next round!!!

fantastic race, Rossi put some psychological points on dani, it was not a case of just rossi wanting him not to lead more then a couple of corners he WANTED to show the up-an-coming rival (rossi belives has more potential then any in Motogp) some psychological autority. You could see Dani shaken by the Rossi's toughness. Now he knows that to beat rossi he has to try much harder to beat the lets be honest the best rider in moto gp. This leads to a physchological advantage rossi has over dani and dani knows he is NO where going to beat rossi in a straight fight

Good race, I'm a bit dissapointed with Dani, he didn't play hard enough, I'm sure Rossi in Dani's position would have banged fairings when he got side by side (like he did to Sete at Jerez).
I hope at least he's learnt the lesson, don't give up a gained position!!!

The Loris, Ducati, Bstone combo was perfect yesterday. Congrats!!

What's up with Hayden????

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (teomolca @ Aug 21 2006, 08:02 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>What's up with Hayden????

i read something about lacking traction in his rear tyre ... but i couldnt gain anything from any of his quotes in post race reports .... says its something that he just needs to put behind him and fair enough

A heartfelt, emotional win for Loris. He really deserved that win. Congrats to Loris. I was going hysterical when Dani had that head on battle with Rossi. I've been waiting for that since the begining of the season. Never mind it lasted only a few minutes, it adds the excitement to the race. Poor Hayden couldn't keep up with the race. He had some tyre and bike clutch problems.

KABOOM! Capirossi is Back! And he bought Bridgestone with him! He really was on fire today, riding his ... off, the setup was spot on and the great part: The tyres held up! I`m really hoping this isn`t just a one off for Bridgestone and that this new tyre is the real deal. Big step forward today for the Ishibashi mob, hope they`re getting closer to a proper tyre war.

As for Rossi and Pedrosa, well that was nail biting stuff, been waiting a long time to see those to duke it out, to see how the two most gifted guys on the grid compare and I`m not unimpressed. Dani showed potential but he`s not quite at Rossi`s level yet, making a few mistakes. But I wouldn`t put it down to a lack of skill on pedrosa`s part, more an excess of skill on Rossi`s part, Dani just couldn`t make his moves stick and Rossi pushed and pushed. Lesser riders have crashed out in that sorta situatuion with the Doc, so well done to Pedrosa, but Rossi was the man of the match there. And about the hair raising passes, well, I`m not going to blame Pedrosa or Rossi, I didn`t really get a good look at the whole thing to make a good descision, because I was covering my eyes screaming "JEEZ THEY`RE GONNA CRASH!"

And Hayden? What really happened? Apparently the rear hoop didn`t look that bad after the race, so that kinda rules out the tyre... what`s going on? All I know is more rounds like that will cost him dearly.

freaking awsome race, the Doc was in laser surgery, he let Capi go to concentrate on shuffling some points around....i think Dani knows who the master is now....and letting Capi go brought up the pack to give Nick a hard time...worked like a charm.
but mission complete, more points off Nicky..

whens the next race...COME ON!

pathetic display by hayden. simple as that. very telling. if this is how he is going to perform the rest of the season he's already lost his chance. it was his to lose & it looks like he's startin to do just that
<
the rossi pedrosa battle was excellent. & i don't want to hear any of that dangerous riding ........! the result was as expected considering the experience gulf between the 2. pedders did a good job fighting up thru his start position to battle with rossi. finally settling for 3rd after a good try for 2nd. remember he's just a rookie! glad to see stoner finish the race. maybe he's startin to wise up a bit. good for melandri as well considering his grid position as well. good for krjr. he's still has it in him & the old mans bike is comin on nice! now let's get that second rider on the team. the best for last..... loris & the duc + bridgestones. ...... brilliant! it was as babel said "like rossi from the old day's with honda" total crushing dominance! remember cappers won in sepang & motegi last year with relative ease! it's goin down to the last race at valencia!

WHAT A SEASON!!!!!!!you nailed it there frosty!

dani done real good, rossi got the better of him but that's not the point, he fought like hell, nothing dangerous about it. I think he woke rossi up big time, like a terrier hanging on to your pants by the teeth, the sort of guts that hayden hasn't shown when the pressure has been on him. even cosidering pedrosa being second in the championship with his teammate nowhere, he still had a good dig at old valentino, very nice indeed, i've got more respect for him now that ever. krjr is indeed just as crafty as his old man, perfect tyre management gave him his pace at the end to come in 4th, more to come from him. LORIS IS A LEGEND! and THE bridgestone circuits still to come. i'm gonna be cheering in the stands at valencia.

what can i say, great battle between Rossi and Pedrosa, think these battles can only help Dani, as the 7year age gap is on Dani's side,so he can only learn from these encounters, and i am still not writing him off to take Rossi's crown this year, well done to Loris led from the start, the rest is history. !

It is so interesting to watch Rossi and Pedrosa ride together. They have a point in common in their riding style: both are incredibly smooth and calculating.

Pedrosa waited for his moment to attack and he did it when he could. Rossi got his hands dirty banging the door on Pedrosa's nose.

True... before Brno, everyone thought 51 points was a huge mountain to climb for Vale... then just in a snap, it went down to 38 points: still a fairly huge gap, but one that could easily be surmounted if Hayden would repeat his performance last time.

Man Loris was on fire..........looks like he is fully fit again and pissed on everyone, what a great win! - shame he went un-challenged though, as the TV didnt really show too much of him!

Cant really say much that hasnt already been said with Rossi vs Dani battle, it was superb action..........really good racing action and proves why motogp is the number one sport on this planet!!!

KRJR, great second half of the race - curious as whyhe went backwards at the start? Tyre issue perhaps?

Nicky - what happened there? I need to read some post race comments to find out what he said, but he looked at his rear tyre (in good old fashioned Sete Style!) way too many times..........did he cook it? I mean, that shot of him in teh last turn spinning & smoking that baby up whilst Nakano was smooth passing him kinda summed his race up.

Made the championship even more interesting! (as if that was possible anyway!).

Roll-on Sepang

Easy, tiger.

I think Capi will win at sepang & motegi if he performs like he did last season, if the championship goes down to the wire I think Dani may win it because the last race is at valencia and its another home track for him

Hello everyone,

This is my second post, so go easy on me.
<

Looks like just about everything has been said and that most of us are on the same page as far as this last race is concerned. But I'll take a whack at it, too.

Loris was on fire. Untouchable. I'll bet Sete was jealously looking on from his bed and also shocked at how badly Hoffman did on his bike.

The Rossi-Pedrosa fight was fantastic. Pedrosa should take this as a great learning experience: One, studying Rossi's riding style and defence for 10+ laps and: Two, battling it out with him. From Pedrosa's post-race comments, he felt Rossi was overly aggresive in closing the door on him. Perhaps, but he's going to have to get used to it. Rossi is very tough and unforgiving... And so far, hasn't been penalized for his moves. See Jerez '05 for recent proof. Pedrosa has the speed, but needs more "fight" in his game to beat Rossi.

Roberts Jr. has been really impressive since they've improved the machine.

HAYDEN!!!??? This type of performance has happened way too many times for me to believe that coming in 9th was just due to a tire or clutch problem.

He is no slouch, but I feel his lead in the championship is thanks to problems other riders have had and not because he deserves to be on top.

Overall, a fantastic race!
