Brno Race Discussion

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (chopperman @ Aug 16 2009, 04:56 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Ive not read anybody calling him a liar. Commentators said it was 6 of 1 and half a dozen of the other. Race direction (Paul Butler) has said it was a racing incident and as neither team has lodged a complaint to race direction no action will be taken. So it was just a case of both riders racing for the same patch of tarmac.

Live with it !

People are saying it was his fault and that he must have seen/heard Melandri when Kallio has already stated he did not see him. So, essentially they are calling him a liar.

After much dithering and dallying, and pretending that nothing had been settled, Alvaro Bautista finally came clean after the MotoGP race at Brno and announced that he will after all be joining Suzuki in MotoGP. In a press conference, the Spaniard confirmed that he has signed a two-year deal with Suzuki,.

Well none of us can say what either rider saw, not even you ! The fact neither team has lodged a complaint would suggest it was the fault of both riders .

your trying to say he didnt see him, others are trying to say he did. fact no one can know what they did or didnt see .

Wasn't there some incident, like the Melandri/Kallio one today, earlier in the season? Like 250s and Bautista or Aoyama or something? I forget. Anyone able to remind me?

Can Kallio know what he saw?

sure , but can we know what he says he saw ? and does it really matter if both teams are not protesting ?

Well he's quoted on his official website as saying he didn't see Melandri.

"I didn't see anything before the crash happened" (my rough comical translation insinuating that Kallio suffers from temporary blindness)
"I didn't have time to see anything at all before the impact" (TheOak's better translation)

Yes but the argument was about some calling him a liar. My point is theres no way any of us can know if he is lying. i think its fair to say tho that its not un common in accidents for involved party's to lie or see the truth in different ways. My second point is , its a stupid ....... argument anyway. Oak in an earlier post called forum members "experts" in a condescending way, saying we cant know by sitting in our armchairs (paraphrasing), my point is neither can he !

The only conclusion I could come to after seeing the crash was that Kallio must not have seen him. If he had seen him there's no way he would have accelerated into Melandris rear tyre like that and risk serious injuries for both.

Kallio later confirmed this on his website and I posted his comments on page 3 with a translation, yet still people say "oh but he must have seen him" and to me that is calling him a liar. That doesn't go down well with me and neither does calling him an ..... and a kamikaze especially when, like you said, NO ONE KNEW why it happened.

Kallio must have a kind of tunnel vision - seriously. He really didn't see Melandri was there, obviously

I was thinking, with a 50 point lead rossi can now afford an extra engine should he need it.

maybe thats why he wheelied over the finish line.

Lorenzo

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>“I got a bad start and had to get by some people, and then I just didn't have the same pace that I'd had all weekend. I was slower than in the practices and it really wasn't what I was expecting,” said Lorenzo's who set the fastest lap of the race on lap 16 of 22, but his 1min 56.670sec was only 0.024sec quicker than Rossi and slower than he'd managed in all four previous track sessions.

Hmmm I wonder what's going on. Lot's of speculation for a Lex file entry.

Aah suck it, it's a fing racing incident, you're just glad he didn't beat Hayden.

I have seen it over and over and I understand why… if Kallio is racing bikes, well into a right-hander turn, hit the ‘backest’ part of another rider… how can Kallio not have seen? Wouldn’t he be looking right and forward? It is not like he hit the left side being parallel to Melandri. A least Kallio should say he will pay more attention!

We probably won't be hearing from Migs he can't bring himself to cleanly congradulate Hayden. It's funny I can't tell if he is a f a Han of the sport or just Hayden/America heter.
