Let us call this season 2010: THE MYTH BUSTER SEASON!

+1!

i don't get why especially the rossi fanboys dont get this

lets put it this way : when stoner whooped rossis ... in 07 and i was rossis biggest fan i immediatly knew that this kid had to be someone very very special or otherwise he couldn't have pulled it off

lorenzo earned my respect in the exact same manner (cf. jumkies statement about rossi being the standard...) ,but adding to that he beat the guy on his bike

i can't stress enough that lorenzos wins are impressive and that he rode an almost flawless season (now trace that back to 97 please because seriously, even rossi ...... up every now and then but lorenzos scored everywhere....) but even more than that : yamaha is now lorenzos land. if someone pushes the greatest of all time out of his factory that has to be counted as maybe one of the biggest grandprix accomplishments ever.i mean really, thats still ....... impressive in my book

Full points for posting proof you are as thick as two bricks
<

1. The word you are looking for is dominant, not dominate. Which made your post ridiculous to read.

2. All you have done is interpret the thread title and my reason for posting it
<
.

Its a question open for discussion, in the hope of identifying those "extraneous" inputs as to whether a season has been dominant or not.

Your argument that every one of his competitiors "had problems" is idiotic as it can just as easily be applied to every competitor in every season. The fact remains that they had their problems trying to keep up with Lorenzo ( with the possible exception of Pedrosa, who had a purported equipment failure ) I have seen nothing that disproves whether or not it has been the "best/most dominant/whatever", all you have to see is a picture of Rossi's arse and you are happy, but it takes something different to prove or disprove what the season was to me.

The question still remains ....... the "other competitors" this year ......... if they are that good, then surely it makes Lorenzo's achievement even more "dominant" or "better". Perhaps given the competition, and what competing against him caused them to do, Lorenzo's season can be seen as good as Doohans?

how can you give Pedrosa a pass with equipment failure leading to lost points due to injury....but you can't give Rossi the same pass with a spec tire that could not hold heat causing lost points due to injury.

Also a few riders complained about the tires this season about the heat issue so it was not a one time thing with Rossi's crash.

Put simply, because a tyre thats gone cold is a fairly predictable event, albeit an event that has caught out several riders in the past year, eg. Stoner at Valencia 09, Spies Estoril 09 and Rossi. Their reaction was more "D'oh I got caught out by a cold tyre". They deal with this at the beginning of every race
<

Pedrosa had the throttle stick on full when backing off for a corner, not a very predictable or even expected occurrence at all, the reaction from any rider to this would be "WTF was that!?"

I remember you said in a few gp's ago "you only were praying for Casey to not crash and were very happy that he didn't, what about this time??
<
<
Do you pray for him in a church or...?
<

I know i,m the only fan boy here.
<

Doesn't sound much like me
<
especially since I don't "pray", and can't remember ever having done so
<
In short, you dreamed that one up.

Barry started this thread, for fishing, or he doesn't want to admit to himself, that most posts here, while are appreciating Lorenzo's efforts, dont believe that this season is the best ever, or rather naming the best is a matter of taste or such. (Even Jumkie thinks so)
<

I have no problem with admitting that it was started for fishing for an answer. Its your idea of "fishing", that may be different from mine. Sure the topic may not be what you want to hear, because lets face it the whole problem with Lorenzo's win is that it will allways be downplayed by yu Boppers for whatever excuse. But since one allways seems to have to wade through a storm of fairytales and myth with you boppers, its good to "get it out and discuss it" so the fairytales and myths may be treated as they should be.

WHat has become apparent also is that there are many more interpretations of "best" season than I ever imagined.
<
<
Even after I tried to tie it to the actual statistical finality of the acrued points of the season and any valid reasons ( excuses ) that could explain why 2010 has turned out to be as it has.

There u go folks, Rossi's crash was equipment failure! U know Factory, up until this point i had considered u a bit brighter than Twitle Dumb & Twitle Dumber, but u just joined them.

so tires are equipment for a bike?? It is a spec tire class now so any rider can get a bad set of tires for a given track/bike and that rider or bike team can really do nothing about it. At least when the tires were special made for each manufacture and rider.....the rider or team could really only fault themselves when taken a gamble (as long as the tire did not prematurely fail). They get to pick A,B, or C......or if it was a dinner menu, it would be your choice of meatloaf hot, warm or cold. All the same meatloaf for everyone at the table.....some might get gas, upset stomach, heartburn or explosive dirrehea while others love meatloaf and would eat it every meal....meaning some will feel great that evening and others will have a bad day!!

No choice in tire makes it even more of an issued equipment.....like a company uniform, you can't bring your own clothes to wear for work.

By all means, continue digging. Would u like a shovel?

so if i go for a ride and push the bike too hard when tyres are cold i can basically sue bmw because their design has fundamental flaws?

dude come on really, cold tyres are a ..... and often unpredictable as we've heard but to blame the tyre, especially when everyones running the same brand, is just wrong and crazy

rossi ...... up at mugello, unfortunatly he had to pay the price which was a bad injury but that sort of thing just happens racing motorcycles at that speed.

it's human and i guess rossis human too

i dont rate this season as the best because of the lack of competition.

Rossi (in the same team)

Pedrosa

Stoner

Hayden

Not good enough? You must not rate their titles at all.

My point is Wilt and Lorenzo did not have to fight or push for their results every race/game. They played against themselves...

because their performance was so much better than their competition

I think this is an excellent point, and is one of the reasons Lorenzo's season is so great.

thank you

i guess theres no use trying to debate it because really it all boils down to whether you consider the 2010 grid to have some seriously great riders and bikes or not. icant see how any sane person could possibly say lorenzo didnt have to fight for it but ok,guess he's god then if he didnt even really had to try hard

the only thing i don't get is how they don't even consider rossi a serious opponent

i mean he beat the guy ,injury or not, why do some people need to make up excuses for the goat if he got beat just this once (again

fairytales? That's naming the best season for the most points.imo

You have asked a question, about this season, and i say imo it's not so, and i explained why. now it's you and some of the other hater's who like to forget all your nightmares of the past seasons by calling this season as The Best Ever. as much as i respect your choice but i can't stop laughing about it's stupidity at the same time, and if your hatred hadn't make you a full blind to reality, you could have seen that more than 90% of the people in this thread has dismissed your bs even those anti Rossi's.
<

about your prayer's for Casey, your right i didn't said it perfect, this is your post "I'm just happy to see him stay upright on it let alone get a podium."

and that was your reply to another Stoner fan who had higher expectations. and i replied to you at that time: "That's an insult to Casey also, his last crash in a race was a few months ago. he has scored 5 podiums since then." (check Brno race thread 2nd page)

now answer my question: who's The Most Pathetic fan between me and you. (forget my last question about which one of us is the boperest)
