Damn, this is a legendary internet forum call out. Anyone who has posted here for several years or read the social meet threads will know these offers's and call out is no ..........



Looks like the ball is in your court BM. All you have to lose is face if you A dont take up the offer or B take it up and prove you were full of .... all along. The later will still gain respect from me as you will have had the courage to get off your sofa and come on an adventure of a life time. One i'm sure you will remember fondly for the rest of your life.
 
Uncle Chop Chop is right Barry, even if you were bullshitting you have the chance of a lifetime on offer, gratis. If you take it up you'll get nothing but respect from me regardless of the result.
 
Its a no brainer. Even if he was bullshitting, the joke would be on us, as he would have taken us for considerable loot. And him, a chance to meet and ride with The Haslams. Maybe he can teach them a thing or two. I certainly would appreciate it speaking as a diehard fan. Maybe it would be the missing tid bit toward Leons Wsbk title hopes.

This is a legendary call out Arrab, and I commend you for putting your balls on the line with a first class offer. Jum chipping in with an offer just to show up (although I think you're on a pretty safe bet there Jum)

I don't think anyone is doubting yur full of .... Baz, but if you've got any balls you should still take the offer, and front up for the trip of a lifetime.



Baz, I travel from Australia to Europe a lot for work, and I can tell going there for 2 days is just plain stupid. I have done it plenty of times (did it three times in a month once) and it will mess you up. Go for a week, see a bit of the world, and show some gratitude to the guy willing to front up and offer you the trip.

And, get your ... on a flight to Wales to race 22 in a kart. He will smoke your ..., but at least do him the dignity of fronting up.

I'm in whenever possible ..... but look to be honest why don't you save the bucks and arrange it over here as somebody suggested.

If I wanted to tour around the world race tracks ..... don't you think I'd be doing it!?? Think about this yourself !! would you!!??



Now ..... as I have suggested before, I'd actually laove a day or two at a track with you Arab ( I bet it would be fun ) however it has to fit in with life and other pursuits.



If you have friend's out here then get out here and arrange "whatever" a ride day ....... it should save you a shitload.



But again ...... two days max. You pay.



I'm not putting forward any money whatsoever to placate your silly desires or beliefs ...... you want to prove something ...... you pay. I most certainly would not pay to bring out a chap, or even bother to watch, who gets to a track and thinks he's gunna put such little effort in that he will "back a bike in by skidding the rear brake or downshifting hard"

One of the circuits I would love to visit is PI and Melbourne is generally regarded as one of the most desirable cities to live in the world so I'd love to go there too. I also know people in Sydney. When I was a kid I lived in New Zealand and my Dad worked in the city for periods of time. We were on the cusp of moving there in fact. I think - and I say this very tentatively - that I know the area where Barry lives - or that many of his posts have alluded to.





I would be over like a shot if someone covers my accomodation feeds me and arranges a bike and track day as I am pledging to do with Barry. It is cheaper to bring Barry here because I live very close to Donington while I work ten miles away from Silverstone and the distances are far less. If you can get me up to Sydney from PI so that I can meet Barry - I'm straight there.



Regarding paying for him to fly here I am 100% serious - we'll sort the rest. Not if you think I'm there to "socialise" or "bunk in at your place" ...... I'm just not into that .....

As I said before, I love Barry. The guy is a legend.



I was thinking the same as you Jum. Fly over, hang out, hit the track and get it all paid for. Then if you do suck at everything, well done. You have had a trip for nothing.



By the way, I will throw my hat in the ring should you need any assistance with any aspect of this potentially beautiful meeting of great minds Arrab.



I too can vouch for the hospitality which you will be offered. One point to watch out for Berry, don't sleep on the floor next to Basspete if he is there.

Then you best stop watching bike racing then. You're the one that keeps talking about 'skidding' the rear - but yeah, the backbrake is quite important too for some racers.

..and Barry's beloved Casey regularly pops rear seals through his vigorous use. all this has been pointed out innumerable times - what can you say to someone that professes that they would have nothing to learn from Rocket Ron and Leon?
 
It must be so awesome to be Barry...expert on everything, the best at everything. Its a pity its so awesome us mere mortals cannot see it for fear of being left blind.

You may well be the least gracious person in existence. Do you really expect us to believe you cannot find/make/create a weeks holiday sometime in the next 6 - 8 months? I would have jumped at Arrabs offer and been there at his convenience, but then again I actually enjoy people and socialising with them! BTW Barry, Arrab is not trying to prove anything - he has put forth a genuine offer of requiring nothing from you other than a week of your time in return for his generosity, hospitality and graciousness. I truly hope you consider the offer for what it is - an opportunity to step outside the small shuttered world of our internet forum and share a little life and experience with someone you might never have to chance to do so with otherwise - at no expense to yourself... Its win-win really.

Nobody has asked you to just drop your work and life. You were asked to pick a date convenient for you. You pick December 22nd for 2 days

I'm sure you would be fully aware that is Christmas week and the middle of winter in the uk. I'm also sure you would be aware that at that time of year in the uk it will either be hammering it down with rain or covered in 3 feet of snow which is why it the "off season" for racing.

Once again for the dumbos ...... I would love said "match race" seriously. Both for 22 and Arab ...



But as I said, I am unavailable til after December 20 ........... why is that difficult for you to understand Rog./ Arab/22 ??



As to folk suggesting a trip to the UK would be a holiday!! no it would not, and would be very poorly wasted time at that time of year even.



Now back to reality ...... its a two day trip just to get there, add the two days for Arab and 1 day for 22 then 2 days back home ..... thats a week gone!! So I'm being pretty generous I feel.



Now Arab ....... insurance ...... have you looked into that?

Licence? ..... that?



I think you guys need to get real ........ its just not viable, however if anybody is silly enough to pay for it ( and thats not asking a wage either .... just recompense ...... though in reality that should include "wage" recompense ) I would seriously love a day at racing ( or in this case just doing a demo it sounds ) just about anything.



I will likely be away for a few days ..... and am in no mood for your "need for approval" at present. I know it pisses you off, but meh its your own doing. I disagree with you on the "brakes and downshifting being the way to initiate backing it in", you really need to get over it mate. Or if it really is riling you so much ...... pay up under the conditions stipulated.
