^^^^^     ^^^^^^^^

yeah, thanks for the photos.  I think I am going to like this track.  When somebody said it was like Portimao, I just imagined a good track.  Wasn't it designed by the same guy who came up with some of the best tracks in the world?

That depends which tracks you think are the best in the world.  Tilke has designed most of the generic, boring, soulless F1 tracks which all look about the same.  A few of them are good, but most of them are difficult to get excited about.  This one looks excellent!

I just can't wait to see it for real.

Tilke didn't do the cota layout. Hellmund & Schwantz did. That's why the drivers/riders like it so much.

The riders don't really like the layout that much from what I have read (aside from a few turns). It will be the circuit with the most time spent in first gear of any track on the calendar. Schwantz played a part in designing the layout of the facility but I doubt he really had much to do with designing the actual track.

I would have loved to have heard a Stoner critique of the track. There would have been zero ........ :)

Especially after they told him his old mate Schwantz carved it out of the hillside himself.

The track is pretty much universally loved by 4-wheel drivers who've been there. The 2-wheel reviews have been mixed but mostly positive. They love the esses, the variety of different kinds of turns, elevation changes and varied cambers (obvious and more subtle), fast sections, and high-speed turns. They've raved about the ability to brake unnaturally late into 1. The only complaints I've heard are that the slowest corners (1, 11, 15) are a bit too slow for bikes. This could have something to do with low grip levels and not getting the tires to work well yet on that surface. Ask Blake Young about that.

Most of the credit for the layout goes to Hellmund. Schwantz helped add & tweak bits to make it more compatible with bikes. He's credited with the stadium section, which is my least favorite part of the track for cars, but is apparently a hit among riders.

Who said that?

Nobody, Sloth is just being funny while taking a dig at Schwantz. Sloth27' is new, so i dont know enuf about him, but in the past 'some' avid CS fans have not tolerated anything other than full and unfettered worship. Im think CS is special and was done wrong in some ways by backroom deals done by excs, so its interesting that theyre not sympathetic to KS's plight. So his reference here is to KS & CS public disagreements. Though i would remind some that KS has also described CS's riding as "brave". The irony being that CS is admired for being a straight talker, that same admiration is not extended to KS by 'some' CS fans.

Anyway, i think u pretty much covered it, KS had some but very limited influence on track layout. I dont like the slow corners, they seem odd, way too reduced, and quirky features of the layout.

Sloth27 is Mario27's other side I believe. ;)

Why did you say that?

Sloth_27 support Doohan (stoner) and Marc. I have told 1.000.000 times that i support only Casey Stoner. But I admire Doohan (of course) and Marc.

I dont support Marc because is from Spain.

And i dont speak so good English.

I dont have CB500  because i am only 18 and i cant drive 500 cc bike! And if i have license for 500 cc bike I couldnt drive that .... (sorry Sloth_27) because its HONDA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Take a look of my dreambike. Definetely its not Honda!!

Sloth_27 is here since 2010.

Once again! Why did you say that ?

I want arguments!

You revealed you had an alternate registration some while ago in the MM thread I believe.

I just assumed with the 27 connection it was your other ID.

If I was wrong so be it,

You won't get an argument out of me over some thing so trivial my friend ;)

Appologies If I was wrong.

Just to clear the record...

I like Schwantz 'cause when he thought Stoner was being a ..... he said it, and when he thought he was being brave he said it. Sometimes he talks a bit too much for a retired racer but I think it's just because he misses being an important part of the scene. If only they would let him in to the circuit, perhaps he could replace Blake Young on that CRT...

And Mario, that CB500 from the other thread isn't mine - I have the 1250 Bandit. We must come from different parts of the world cause I bought it when I was 18 haha.

Anyway, I have no time for crazed CS defending, for I am fully dedicated to the plight of MM #93.
