$200 for a parking permit??!!

omg-wtf.jpg

Amazingly enough, it seems they may have sold quite a few tickets at these outrageous prices. Assuming they aren't just jacking the customers about, http://www.circuitof...cas.com/tickets shows most of the seating as filled.

I must admit that I want to see the EffWun cars run balls-out through the 'S' section. It should be good for bikes too, although it's hard to tell if passing will be possible in either type of vehicle.

thats some ........ prices.. how much are F1 tickets at other tracks??

i would totally sell my ticket to pocket some cash and put it into my house, but it was a gift and im expected by friends.

That indeed is very interesting.

It makes one think that maybe seats are not available because the seats are not there yet or it's going to be a very profitable venture?

OK, I know it's just a video game. Who knows how it will play out in real life, but here are some impressions I have after "driving" COTA for about 2 hours tonight on the xbox:

- The esses are very tough at first but I'm starting to get the rhythm. Very unforgiving.

- T1 is a ..... because of the way it flattens out at the top.

- In race conditions , cars tend to really bunch up at 3 & 4.

- T11 not too bad once u get the feel...but its VERY unforgiving if you're just a tad off. Same in some other places.

- I regularly overtook in 1, 9, 11, 12, 20. Even some in 13 & 14. Who knows if it will be like that in real life, but at the very least there will be lots of overtaking as people make mistakes.

- 15-18 = awesome.

- Hard to see apex or beyond it on 19 in the game.

- IMHO, there will be intense action all the way around this circuit in the early laps.

A 4 day grandstand pass for the OZ GP in 2013 is AU$465 less than US$450 these days.

This gives you one day in a different stand for each of the 4 days. Although there is no F1 cars on Thursday anyway, just support cars & autograph stuff.

Haven't been for years & don't intend to go next year either. Albert Park is a pretty boring circuit in my opinion. I would go to Spa every year if I lived near by.

Yea, it's only a game, but a modern sim like rFactor or I-Racing does a darned good job of simulating a race car's interaction with track and driver. Here's an interesting video about an 'Alien' sim racer who got to drive a real car. He was surprisingly fast out of the box, but was completely unprepared for the physical abuse a real cockpit dishes out. He was wiped out after a few laps and even tossed his lunch.

A cool video if you can filter out all the iRacing worship.

$200 for a parking pass? For that much money my car better be in a personal garage and washed and detailed when I get back from the race....geez!

Hi everyone!

I've been watching for a while, but this got my attention & I thought you'd all want to see it and maybe pass it along. There's a facebook page now "[background=rgb(241, 243, 248)]devoted to boycotting the CotA MotoGP race due to their mishandling of the contract with 3fourTexas MGP, LLC and specifically Kevin Schwantz[/background]"

See it here:

IIRC, I mentioned a while back how low the RV pads looked compared to the track.

Looks like they're gone now. This photo is from 9/23:

Ahh but the price at Silverstone does include all the free mud you get to take home with you, don't forget that
