Assen Predictions!

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (The Doc 79 @ Jun 19 2006, 09:42 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Just goes to show how good those god damned brakes are.....that thing launched skyward like someone shoved a pipe in his spokes.....I'll be honest I couldn't even see where Melandri ended up....his body actually hit Pedrosas rear tire and when he stopped and his arm flopped over....I thought he got killed....good thing he's ok.....
he'd become a RCV sandwich! was very scary! started thinking of kato

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (The Doc 79 @ Jun 19 2006, 03:24 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Ben, I hear you...but you CAN control "not drifting" into Loris......if you watch the replay, he goofed and the front tire bobbled and he drifted into Loris....Cappy put out his left elbow to push him away.....but then his lever hit......and he wasn't doing 160mph....

Yeah - but how often does the field bunch on turn one, theres always movement & jockeying for position..............I'd like to know what you mean by goofed though! As far as I can see it was just racing.

As for 160.........just going off what the commentators said....maybe that was a tad high as they were in the breaking zone......it wasnt far off imo, 0-160 in 8 seconds from a standing start according to the boys on eurosport.

Anyway, if Sete was deemed to have caused the pile up, surley dorna would reprimand him?..........that aint gonna happen!

(eee, been a while since I was in a debate!-must do it more often

)

You wouldnt do that to me!
<

My Assen Predictions are:

1) Rossi (for a change)
2) Hayden (seeing as Cappers, Gibbers and Marco won't race)
3) Pedrosa (good chance for him, may exchange places with Hayden or Stoner)
4) Stoner (good chance for him also, may exchange places with Hayden or Pedrosa)

P.S. BEN why haven't you updated the fantasy league yet?

Right on man ....not trying to shitcan Sete, but his luck (or lack of) is something of legend....I've watched the replay a few times and I think the F1 guide stripe, painted to keep the cars in line out of pit row was partially to blame....to me, his tire slid a bit forcing him closer to Loris.....and jamming up his brake, Loris trys to block with his left arm.....but bottom line...everyone is alive....you could be right on the speed it just seemed high, because at the point of the accident everyone was braking....
Dorna would have to be pretty ballzy to walk into the hospital and slap him with a repramand, after flipping over....getting into an ambulance accident AND...losing out on the next couple races......

No. American Honda's Superbikes are worth around $350k each. An M1 is worth around $4 million.

Thanks man....I had a feeling it was a lowball figure....with all the factory direct R&D and custom components.....350 would pay for a few carbon panels....
By the way, I'm going to Laguna...any tips?

Frosty's tip is the best one out there. Now that it's majority shuttle service, they may fill and you might have to wait for it to come back again so go early. Bring a lightweight chair so you can walk all over the place and have a place to sit. There's no sitting other than the ground at every turn except for 1, 4 and 10. Check out Cannery Row in downtown Monterey on Friday and Saturday night if you get a chance. Past that, just see everything you can. The turn one and two sections and five through nine are the coolest areas on the track.

I guess Rossi is going to win this again
<
....for now that my opinion. I'll give my prediction when we'll find out the conditon of Marco and the fitness of Loris. I won't credit Dani or Stonet to win here and i'm not convinced that Nicky can win a race on another track then Laguna Seca.
