Argentina - Rnd 3 2015 - SPOILERS (FP, QP & Race)

I thought the set up for the M1 was for JL's riding style?

The set up can be adjusted and that is what crews and Crew Chiefs are there for. Lorenzo was damn fast on the Yam from day one in 2008, when it could still be considered completely as "Rossi's" bike... I think Lorenzo's difficulties may be more connected with tires, than with the M1 itself. And then he may suffer Rossi's supremacy at the moment, but he also knows that moments can change.

"Motochick" is in fact a heavy-set Mexican ex-marine who was the self-proclaimed alpha male on this forum, who doesn't really contribute anymore but seems to lurk and post once in a blue moon under his alter-ego Motochick. He was much beloved by some and hated by more than a few. An interesting guy. Seems like he may have become disenchanted by the whole Moto GP scene as he doesn't seem to post these days. He used to be on this site 24-7.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.

My boy Jumkie misses nothing. He watches all the races (SBK included) and comments on them plenty. He just doesn't do it here. But neither does Wilski, Arrab, CK or plenty of other non-combative types who just got bored and left. I talk to all of them privately and the group is as tight as ever. Most of us will be at Indy together.

With that, I'm not convinced there aren't others in this thread posing as someone they're not. This place is funny that way. Finally, MotoChick is not so heavy set anymore. Compared to you sure, but that's not terribly hard to pull off :)

Glad to know he's all good. You may have noted that I come by SSs pretty regularly and haven't seen much of Jum, or Arrib and nothing at all of Wilski or CK, so wasn't sure what any of them are up to. Have fun at Indy. Not a place that really interests me; a boring track in a boring city.

Yeah, I'm not sure why they all stopped. I know Wilski has been busy shuffling back and forth. Not sure why Arrab stopped. CK is having child number 2 soon so he's quite busy.

I think the Indy track is boring but the I still enjoy the event. Looks like we're going to be doing SBK and Laguna. Laguna is only a couple hour drive south for me so it's easy to pull off. Unfortunate we can't see GP there so that makes Indy the best run event we've got I suppose.

I can understand those who stopped coming here -- after the change of name and management this place was becoming plain boring. So I gave up even visiting for a long time. Recently I checked again and saw that many of the old guys were posting again. Never shared Jum's views on almost anything, but it was fun discussing with him. His inventions of aliases like Motochick (and there was another "girl" before that I forget) were hilarious. He would never admit being them... Hope he and the others like Arrab (all real knowers of our sport) reappear. Cheers to them! :)

I always admired Jum's passion. He has a passion for motorcycle racing like few others. It was just unfortunate that his passion led him down the odd blind alley or two.

I was invited over to jum's for a BBQ for COTA. It was good to see him again and catch up.

Yo! Member me? Ha.. I miss Jum.. and this forum.. I just tend to check on reddit/twitter now.. and not overly analyze this stuff as much as i did.. but love the conversations of old.. and it was fun to hang out with you guys at laguna.

You're in Berkeley now? weren't you in sac before?.. Im in Lodi atm

In Jerez post-race test (on monday) Ducati will test something big (words from Dovizioso).

Have no idea what it is, but it seems the italians are working like mad. They usually do it. My mother is daugher of italians, she, her brothers plus his parents, OMG never seen anything like that, they work as hard as if there is no tomorrow. Can't stop 1 minute.

I sincerely thinks that the Ducati will terminate this year as the bike to be beaten.

2016? Well, according to history, one can imagine what will happen.

Happy Dovi.

Yeah man!

I'm actually back in Florida at the moment. I was in Berkeley for a little while after Sacramento, but I was forced to move back to Florida to get financially situated before moving back to the West Coast again.

How's Lodi treating you?

Hmmm.... it seems to me that when Rossi looked over his shoulder he changed his trajectory a bit, surprising Marquez .

I just watched all the post race press and MM didn't .... talk Rossi at all in my opinion. I actually think he handled himself well. I think MM takes the blame for this and he'll move on. He's going to challenge just fine in the coming weeks. The kid fights hard. Credit for that, some times it works well and other times you end up on your ....

....I wasn't on here when this happened. Checking back, I'm surprised more was not said, unless I'm missing another thread.

Significant moment in the season, a turning point, but perhaps not the final twist! Perhaps I can put a different edge on it.......

Vale took him out, dare I suggest intentionally. Certainly a move to at least put the 'kid' in his place. The head on shots clearly show Valentino check under his right arm for MM before swooping across him.

In the press conference, I get the feeling this 'clever kid' had realised, had had his eyes opened to, what Vale is really capable of in battle. You could almost see him thinking, but highly trained not to say negative things, hence not showing cracks in the mental stakes.

Must be hard realising your idol, as seems apparent, is in fact a dirty hard riding clever c***! ;)

He's come up against a genuine challenge in the form of a back in form and motivated Rossi this year, and I think had a bit of a shock. I feel Assen has knocked it all back into perspective for him (another story altogether), and this win in Germany going into the break might just be the spark for a superb 3 way thriller for the title! :)

So given the enormous speed advantage Rossi had at that stage of the race why would he put the race win in jeopardy to "put the kid in his place"?

Marques was beaten in the few laps before where Rossi closed the gap between them.

Sure, Rossi checked over his shoulder but didn't expect Marques to hold the line he did - a few seconds later Rossi simply took the racing line expecting Marques to have fallen in line behind, as happens between riders countless times each race weekend.

No-one in their right mind (let alone a 9x WC) would deliberately cause a collision (except maybe on the last lap :p) when they could simply use the additional grip the tyres were affording to ride back around the other guy at the next corner if necessary. Collisions on two wheels are not always predictable, which is why dodgems is a ..... strategy, especially when on for the win.

BTW, I followed Schwantz then Doohan before I followed Rossi. Most of the crowd here will vouch for me not being a custard cum-shot merchant ;)

My fella met Kevin Schwantz, met Vale too, got a hug! :)
