Does he have strong circuits or does ducati? Because I feel he is proper ....... So far he isn't even the 2nd best rider on a ducati. His best races will be one spot ahead of Marc where so far Marc is finishing two spots ahead.
He has typically built speed over the season, but yes that may be Ducati developing the new machine.
He has some circuits he has been better at than other riders on the Ducati.
Yeah Marc is the favourite but it is still very early

Exactly. Even if he wins those 2 races, that's not enough to win a championship. Having said that, I fully expect Pecco to beat Alex, so let's see how long it takes him to accomplish that. And if he does that, and also catches Marc, it'd probably be too late to be a championship contender this season. I personally don't think he has what it takes to better Marc, so my guess is barring disaster, it's extremely unlikely he'll be the champion with Marc around.

What is the $64K question is what will Marc (and Ducati) will do after 2026, when his contract is over. Alex deserves a factory ride IMO. Could we see both Marquez bros at Ducati???

It isn't looking like it so far, agreed. More than happy if that is confirmed but I will wait a bit longer to see what is revealed, at least until a few European races are done.

Same as the next bloke I can't stand VR, but I have been impressed at how Pecco has been able to disengage from the VR BS. That has made me look upon him more favourably.

So thats 10 points he could potentially claw back. Which is less than he is losing each weekend to Marq squared.
Yeh that’s what I’m seeing as the main problem, Bagnaia isn’t finishing 2nd to Marquez when Marquez wins, when Bagnaia does start winning who is going to be second which of course is more points than 3rd

Also while it is early goings, is anyone getting bad vibes from Aldeguer?

I wasn't impressed with him during the tests in pre-season, and he really doesn't look to be the next big find. Also the way he blew it last season dropped his value for me big time.

I think Pecco is in deep sh*t to be honest because what data does he have to analyze but his own now?

Everyone says riding the way MM does is impossible so his data would be pretty much useless to his teammate I would think? DiGi isn't up there.

Well my thing also is the same thing I said to Mdubs, he's been touted as this data reading guru the past few seasons, but who's data does he have to look at anymore? MM is said to be incomprehensible to mimic when you look at how he rides.

Potentially true, but also 2 tracks Marc was expected to go well at.
I am just not ready to write Pecco off so early. I have watched him win at some circuits with great speed.
Yep I rate Marc higher than anyone I have ever watched, but sh it can happen and Pecco is not without talent.

Pecco is the weakest two-time champion in MotoGP history.
He was fully empowered by riding the best bike on the grid, and not by technical ability. Sure, he's a good guy, a good rider. But he's not an extraordinary talent.

He had the peace of mind of working with the support of Valentino Rossi at his base, and of being born in the same country as Ducati. He didn't demonstrate anything that would make him a Factory rider. Not even victories in satellite teams (like Enea had before being hired, for example).

And his track record in titles is poor, considering that he had BY FAR the best bike with opponents with inferior equipment:

2021 - Lost to Quartararo (2 rounds to go) with a Yamaha already sinking and Ducati having been the best bike on the grid for years.
2022 - Beat Quartararo in the last stage. With an even bigger equipment gap than last year.
2023 - Beat Martin in the last round. Having been a factory rider for 3 years versus a satellite team (which we know is slightly inferior).
2024 - Another battle in the last round against a satellite team, this time he lost. Martin showing a much more iconic and aggressive riding style.

Again: Pecco is a good rider. But not an extra class.
In the current season, I would put him behind MM, Acosta, Fabio and Martin. These, with equal equipment conditions, would easily beat the Italian.
My thoughts exactly. Frantisek started winning exactly at the time when the technology took over and just happened to compete for the team which had that stuff figured out.
Of course that doesn't mean he's talentless. Being able to ride these bikes anywhere close to the limis requires an extraordinary amount of talent. Marc, Fabio, Toprak and Jörg are better riders when it comes to pure talent.
When will we see a non-Ducati on the podium?
When one of the Top 3 crashes out...
But even then it's gonna be a stretch with Diggia getting into shape.
The gap from Ducati to the rest of the field is probably gonna grow again when the actual GP25 makes it's debut.

No not really. There was good reason for Marc to drop behind Alex in Thailand. It just looked like they were the 2 fastest yesterday, as they were in Thailand.
I do agree they are going to be less aggressive with each other than others when they overtake, though I don't see them not overtaking because they are brothers, especially Marc.
