2024 silly season!

Honda gotta hold on to Nakagami.
Since 2020 he's been the fastest Honda or at least the last one standing more often than not.
If Marc, Joan and Alex all jump ship they should try to keep at least one experienced guy.

But is there room for him at Pramac? You pen him to replace Zarco, but I believe it is pretty much an open secret at this point that if Zarco is replaced by anyone, it will be Bezzechi.

Ducati and KTM certainly have an embarrassment of riches at the moment. How's this for a Crazy 2025 (or even 2024) grid?

Yamaha:
Joan Mir
Alonso Lopez

Repsol Honda
Alex Rins
??

Ducati Lenovo
Francesco Bagnaia
Enea Bastianini

Red Bull KTM
Marc Marquez
Brad Binder

Aprilia Racing
Fabio Quartararo
Miguel Oliveira

Pramac Ducati:
Jorge Martin
Marco Bezzechi

Gresini Ducati
Alex Marquez
Tony Arbolino

VR46 Ducati
Luca Marini
Franco Morbidelli

LCR Honda
Daniel Holgado
Ai Ogura

RNF Aprilia
Maverick Vinales
Raul Fernandez

Gas Gas
Jack Miller
Pedro Acosta
That's wild ... list, I'd go with Izan Guevara on the Repsol.

My first post :)

I don't understand the rush to get Acosta to MotoGP to be honest. I know he looks like a generational talent and will most likely turn out to be the real deal, but he is 19 years old, so he has his whole career ahead of him! Why not stay in Moto2 for one more year? It's not going to make any difference to his future. And furthermore, if he waits one year, he will most likely get the factory seat at KTM.

Fact is Acosta thinks he is ready and his stock is high. He has said if ktm doesn't sign him to motogp he will begin talking to other teams. So they have no choice if they want to keep him. He is ready I'm not sure he will instantly light motogp on fire but it is possible. Well if he is on a ducati that is.

Augusto Fernandez position looks shaky due to Acosta demanding a ride and this is despite Augusto Fernandez getting a 4th

He needs a mentor or someone to talk to him, because he is thinking like the 19 year old he is. There is little to no benefit in him moving up next year. Virtually the whole grid of riders are contracted until 2024, so wait a year and the world is your oyster!

He is young but his riding style and attitude seems very mature to me. There was a race early this season where him and Tony battled to the end. Both showed extremely good race craft and I was truly impressed with them both. Pedro got Tony and then they shook hands before Tony showed his emotion from getting beat. That was class, he was angry that he got beat but not so angry that he didn't show respect to Acosta. These two could be a very bright spot for years to come. I think Pedro is ready. After last season he showed patience and the ability to learn from losses. A mentor would most definitely do him good but I don't think it is necessary. He has a really good head on his shoulders and has masterclass when it comes to racing.

I didn't mean he needs mentorship in terms of racing. I just think in terms of his "business" or career, he doesn't NEED to move up now (I know he is good enough to do it now). It's not like, for instance, a Toprak who's window of opportunity is closing fast, if not closed already. I think he is going to shoot himself in the foot by moving up next year. I stress that my opinion has NOTHING to do with his talent/ability, it's all to do with seats available.

He has nothing to gain by waiting a year. His stock is high. Every manufacturer wants him. As for available seats at the end of next year a lot of riders contracts are up, including Marc and Fabio. This is the right time. He will either be the next great or not. I don't think one more year in moto2 will help him at all. He is ready to start learning how to ride the big bike. I think he has a good understanding of the business aspect of motogp. His team around him will guide him. What makes you think he will shoot himself in the foot by moving up next year?

I'd like to see the GasGas team be a place to develop young riders a la Razali's Petronas (Rossi notwithstanding) and RNF teams. Pair Acosta with Fernandez. Pol's role in developing the KTM was important, no doubt. However, KTM is beyond him now. I know Pol's experience is vast but he's getting old(er) and at this point, what's the upside? Acosta is the new golden child but Fernandez shouldn't be ousted after one year. I hate that one-and-done nonsense.

I think that is what will happen. They will probably offer Pol some other role.

What are the current contracts for Rins and Mir?

What's the rumour on Quartararo to Aprilia?
Rumour is Rins has a 2 yr contract with an option after the 1st yr and is talking to Yamaha

Yep, even if he doesn't win the title this yr, what else can he learn in Moto2?

Contracts are made to be broken

agree

With Pol they need to see how he goes once he is back racing, does he have the speed prior to the injury or has it made him slower?

When Ducati had two teams the satellite team (Pramac) was used as a junior team and that worked quite well but with 4 teams there's no need to be picky about what each team does. KTM is a bit like the old Ducati situation and should do what you are suggesting

I highly doubt Andrea would do a better job than Taka. He's been out of the sport for four years and the sport has changed quite a lot since then.
The fashion is to bring in younger riders from Moto2, I doubt that Iannone will get a look in at MotoGP. Probably Iannone's fate is to join a low budget private/satellite team in WSBK where he will ride around mid field due to the lack of resources withing the team, with the occasional visit to the pointy end, a bit like Pettrucci. Will be pleased to be proven wrong in 2024.
