Martin’s sprint race start to take the lead was impeccable. A really tense duel for the lead… but then 😮‍💨 …. then Pecco fell. The mistakes continue!!!! Would Martin be next??? Edge of seat to finish. It’s today that I realised just how much I wish to see Jorge win the championship. A great win there for Martin with hand now on the Prize. Never say never, but damn…..

With the Valencia race likely not to happen, I hope he wins the title tomorrow.
 
Caught up on the morning festivities about an hour ago. Looked like some games being played in FP2 and qually. Pecco slow on the line, already out of fuel? Sprint couldn't have gone any better for Jorge, but hard to blame Bagnaia for pushing.

While humanitarian concerns are obviously more important than sportng concerns, if a replacement is not found for Valencia then Martin is already champion. I hope Dorna can announce a plan prior to the race tomorrow.
 
Just watched it. Great win by Martin. Pecco didn't seem to do a lot wrong into that corner but I heard Crafar questioning if he hit the curb with his elbow. Dunno.
Interested to see how the main event goes tomorrow.. Those 2 have everyone else covered it seems.
 
Martin is in a strong position, but he needs to be careful. He and his team will know they can clinch tomorrow if Jorge wins and they get a little help from someone to demote Pecco to 3rd. Unfortunately, if Jorge gets into a battle, and he goes down and Pecco wins, Martin’s entire lead is gone.

Don’t tilt at windmills, imo. Play the probabilities. Make Pecco beat impossible odds.

What happens if Marquez and Pecco battle tomorrow, and Pecco gets a penalty that ends the championship. Does Sepang 2024 become 9 year thread? 😄
 
Man . . . woke up early to watch. Made a big breakfast, eggs, bacon, toast and ground fresh beans for coffee, sat down in front of the tube and prayed to The Gods of Racing that Marquez, Pecco and Martin would not crash - so that it would be a proper race. But of course as Nietzsche said: "God is Dead" - either that or Pecco killed him this morning. As antipathetic as I am toward Bagnaia, my heart just crashed along with him. What a ..... way to kill his chances for this season. What a bummer. Congrats to Quartarraro, and holy .... Honda, going from bad to worse.

Looked to me like he touched just enough of the white line to lose grip. Martin its on you know. He just has to be smart. He is doing a great job holding it together. Props to Ducati for not detuning his bike.
 
I can't believe ppl think Pecco is out of it. Even the main Moto GP twitter acct said this :

The biggest twist yet.

This #TissotSprint might just have decided the fate of the 2024 #MotoGP World Championship!

Everyone's really putting the jinx on Martin. This is ridiculous. There's obviously going to be another shoe to drop. Thats always how these things go.

Here's a scenario. Martin makes another great start tomorrow, as does Marc Marquez, who slots into third behind Bagnaia. Then we end up with this situation: if Marquez can overtake Bagnaia for 2nd, Martin wins the championship...

I'd like to see that.

I think we are watching these young riders grow up in real time. Just the slightest mistake from Bagnaia. Acosta valiantly urging himself to stay upright while trying to put Miller away. Focus Martin! It’s a long way to the finish, nothing is decided, maybe not even tomorrow.

Of course you know, that asking for no jinx, is in itself a jinx.
 
Has Valentino blamed Marc for Frantisek's crash yet?

This championship is still far from over, even though it's obviously looking even better for Jörg than 8 hours ago. But there are still three races left and so far Jörg has responded to every mistake by Frantisek with a mistake of his own. I just hope he gets it over the line. Don't try to clinch it tomorrow, just be smart and if Marc or Enea are coming for him, don't battle with them, he can afford to finish behind them but he can't afford a DNF.
 
Now I'm watching the Sprint. Pecco blunders and Jorge has a lead of .8 seconds but he's still the fastest rider on track. Do I have to sit here on the edge of my seat for 6 more laps? Just bring it home Jorge.....bring it home.

It's much more likely to be Marc. How many races has he at some time been in third following Martin and Bagnaia. I'm sure there would be conspiracy theories, but we get those anyway no matter what happens. How long is it before Ducati does something to guarantee Martin won't win the championship? :D
 
Side note as there is 2.5 laps remaining but what's up with Yamaha? Fabs is in 5th and both made it to Q2. If I heard correctly they pulled the new engine from Rins' bike and Fabio's crapped the bed in practice. With the 2 long-ish straights I didn't think this would be a good track for blue.
