2024 Round 20 Petronas GP of Malaysia - Petronas Sepang International Circuit

The order has been given. Iannone is the hired gun to take out Martin. You heard it here first.

That means he'll have to qualify better than 20th though.

I'll go out on a semi-limb and say Martin doesn't need a good quali, only a spot in Q2.
Even from say 10th, he'll be on the podium, purely based on his form.

Only a bizzare accident or snow will stop him not finishing on the podium in Sepang.

Both Yamaha's inside the top ten!

Miller only KTM inside the top ten, Acosta and Binder just off.

Viñales top ten, the rest of that team somewhere lower....

The progress Yamaha has made is astounding. I think they'll have the second-best bike on the grid before the end of next season.
Maverick no matter where he qualifies will be 15th after lap one

The Asian circuits suit the Japanese bikes better than the European circuits. The past year Fabio and Franco got a 5th and a 7th in Malaysia, I'd be surprised if any of the Yamaha riders finished higher than that this year. Let's not uncork the Prosecco yet.

They already showed some progress at Aragon and Misano. I'd argue that both Japanese manufacturers didn't reach their low until earlier this season. Fabio even got a couple podiums last year.

Yeah it is a big ask to jump on different tyres, heavily aero and ride height modified bikes such as these and be up with the best riders in the world immediately. Iannone is back a ways unsurprisingly.
Interested to see him race nonetheless

Was surprised to see Iannone in 8th in FP1. Second to last in PR is a more realistic outcome having no preparation for the bike, brakes and tyres. Still only 1.2 seconds behind Bezzecchi

Q1 will be interesting with Binder, Acosta and Bezzecchi to slug it out

What's up with Aleix E? He has been way down on performance lately, is he injured?
