2018 Motul TT Assen

Entertaining race!

My thoughts during race, Mishitlin bunched them up, of course the cool breeze played it's role, but the tire choice was limited effectively given they all went for relatively the same choice. Race pace way down until the final laps, nobody had tires they loved but rather managed, which explains why it looked like a 125s race. The idea is to avoid Marc checking out in the first stage of race like he did at the end. It was entertaining, that's the point.

Saves by Marc, Rossi, Rins, Dovi, Lorenzo in close proximity were amazing. Congrats to Rins and Viñalez for their confidence building podiums. If that "incident" between Dovi and Rossi had been Marc and Rossi we'd already be on page thousand with Race Dereliction in the mix. Not sure why they needed to pretend they were reviewing the Rins Marc incident, maybe to make it look like they're doing something.

The yellow vs red smoke war is hilarious, however I hope they ban this ..... On last lap I thought someone had gone down, as it initially looked like gravel smoke ahead of the racers from the camera angle. I'm sure it's got to be distracting for the riders, these idiots (saw both colors) throwing smoke bombs onto the impact zones off the stands before the finish.

(Been busy, will catch up on forum when time allows.)

I have a buddy who works for Repsol. He said before they signed Lorenzo, given Pedrosa's poor form, HRC actually considered hiring Cuntslow. Immediately Honda engineers started to re-design modification to accommodate their potential new rider. Before they scrapped it, he was able to sneak a peek and sent me this pic.

This kid is messing with us. I'm sure he stayed with the train just for having some fun. He is incredible.

Very possible > https://www.crash.net/motogp/news/9...-everybody-marquez-talks-rins-vinales-contact

But I like this part very much
I remember that Rins, we have contact, and he touched me but in the end it was my mistake because I was outside and when you are outside, you need to understand who is inside, has the advantage,”
We would like to think a certain 9 time world chump could learn from such statement...................

And then there is the blame the other guy for...... https://www.motorsport.com/motogp/news/not-clever-dovizioso-assen-podium-rossi-1054409/?s=1

But Dovi seems to echo Marc's

Some things never change. It racing, not ballroom dancing!! Maybe ask Petrucci to be there next time, so he can move over for you.

Rossi’s raced Dovi enough to know how aggressively he brakes and that he doesn’t back down. No reason why he should have been surprised. Done it himself plenty times. Just on the wrong side of the racing line today.

Just watched the race for the second time today.
What a race! Probably the best I have seen in some time.

Every single person from P1 to P8 were amazing today. Can every race be like this, please?

I have cooled down on Rossi, and this was at least not a general attack on Dovi’s character. For a really smart guy he is rather myopic in his old age however; while it is true they likely would have finished 2nd and 3rd if Dovi had been less aggressive, the converse is just as true.

As I said earlier, Rossi has made a career out of never conceding a corner, but in the current field there are several riders who have the same attitude, including when he is the other party to which he has perhaps not been accustomed for most of his career; Dovi won’t concede a corner to MM, why would he to Valentino?.

It's funny when you read some of the comments from the Rossi fans though. Some of the best I have seen are

'Why didn't Marquez and Vinales get a penalty for cutting the track' overlooking the fact that they lost time and Rossi did the exact same thing with Dovi.

'Since when does being on the inside mean you have the right line' complaining that Dovi fought for his position on the corner.

Because Rossi is the Sun King of MotoGP?

Did anyone else notice that Dovi did the same thing to Vale on the last corner that he has done to Marc at least 3 times? Let them dive bomb up the inside then just cut back and beat them to the line.
Dovi's last corner coolness is something else.

I did, I think he knows how late he is on the breaks and for anyone to come up the inside of him they're probably going to run wide.
