Good afternoon,
After reading a few comments on another threads on moto2 riders and who may come to contend for title next year i decided to create this new thread.
This year by far Morbidelli deserves the title from the impressiveness of his 8 wins (close to 50% winning ratio).
Moto2 will get a fresh set of faces next year on the title hunt, after the departure to MotoGP of most of the top riders this past 2 seasons.
As a start, many people is commenting for title contenders Oliveira, Binder, Marquez, Lowes and Mir. I agree with that with some small differences but i think they are forgetting Bagnaia and Pasini.
The ones i bet on to be in stronger position to fight for the title:
Oliveira, this guy to me almost looks likes a "Morbidelli2". Very calm and steady and does seem to have a good grip on the bike and category and doesn't crash too often. A few more wins adding on this year's performance make him championship material no doubt.
Marquez, sometimes pure dominance and more frequently crashes and injury's. If he can keep it together for sure he's strong candidate and potentially the one in pole position for the title.
Pasini, he's an old dog, but shown this year he can do the business.
Bagnaia he as been impressive, and i can't see him getting slower next year.
Binder natural talent and fitness combined resulted on the Australian GP performance, hopefully more to come.
Second tier of contenders. The ones i have don't on the speed to adapt to the category, not doubts on their talent.
Lowes, on the past he crashed a lot and damaged his title aspirations. Will he be able to reset his mindset back to moto2 riding style. Hernandez and others found it difficult but Lowes was only 1 in motoGP.
Mir, he is very strong but next year it's not likely he will fight for the title.
Vierge, very impressive on tech3 ... how will he go on Kalex, maybe even better. So worth to consider!
Finally, there are a bunch of riders between rockies and more established ones that had a slow performance increase but may suddenly find speed and raise the game.
Navarro has shown some glimpses of talent in moto2, he may improve.
Baldassari/Marini, some evolution but still not enough it seems.
Kent/Quartararo, either improve and survive or bye bye carear. From the pair the only noticeable achievement was Kent's obliterating first half season culminating in his moto3 world title.
Hoping for a another great season next year and hopefully with more riders fighting for the crown until Valencia.
May the best may win! And in my case hoping that man is my fellow countryman Oliveira!
cheers everyone
