I watched the race again last night with my son and two things stuck out. First, Trey Canard like him or not has to be the strongest guy in the 450 class this year. There were several occasions over the weekend where he should have taken another digger and especially in the main, but I believe sheer strength kept him on the bike. Canard needs to dial it down though or he won't be finishing the SX season. Second observation, I knew Villo would be strong this year because I've never seen him look as fit as he is now, but something else looks different and I can't put my finger on it, but I want to say he's changed his riding position? JKnock your a RV fan, have you noticed anything or am I just seeing things?
Other random banter:
Stewart was pissed at himself, but I can't help but think he still makes mistakes when being pressured. I would like to know the lap times from the race, I'm curious who turned the fastest lap time, Villo when he was trying to catch Stewart, or Stewart after he fell and was trying to catch Villo?
Stroupe....hmm last two weekends in a row he's been up front for a lap or two then fades. He's still not in race shape would be my guess. Maybe he can pull a top 5 finish out somewhere this year?
For Jumkie: .... Reed....seriously, stick a fork in him.
I hope we get to see more Villopoto, Stewart, Dungey, and Canard battles this year, that was great!
Lites: Hansen, gotta love that dude, right now the nastiest rider around and that's good in my opinion. Got a little too aggressive and paid the price by stalling the bike, but he came back to 5th and put one of the best pay back (over the tuffblocks) passes I've seen in a long time...classic.
Tomac! Was great seeing him stand on the podium....watch this kid, I think some championships are in his future.
