2011 sx season

Yea, Villopoto keeps it safe to bring home the championship, but not before he shows everyone he has the pace to run at front, good on him.

Lites...man WTF...Hansen didn't even make it to the East/West shootout....Bam Bam goes down, Tomac, Tickle, and Wilson were non-factors...geez what a let down. I still think West coast this year had more talented guys from top to bottom.

Damn, I can't wait for the outdoors season to get started, it should be off the hook.

Ryan Villopoto 2011 SX Champ!

Thank God Chad didn't get another gift title. Btw, I know he tried to take out Ryan on his pass, but Villow was smart to stay away from him. James Stewart, thank Jesus Villow wasn't behind him. Can he finish a race while leading? Terrible. I was rooting for Dungey. It would have capped a perfect night, but thanks to lapper, he missed out. I wish he would have bonsai on Chad on the last corner. ....'em.

Well not exactly what we expected, but Sipes takes it. I owe you 10 USD. PM me your address buddy.

.... CHAD REED!

Nicky 06 gift - oh dang......

Stewart Crusty Demon says it all - maybe the crashs may knock some sense in he one day but I don't think so.

Congrats to RV - deserving Champion ! and to the next best of the rest Reed good on you mate - up against it got to be happy with that.

Nicky 06 gift - oh dang......

I wasn't aware Nicky's rivals crashed out of the entire season.

L8braker, PM address.

Btw, on a related note, Josh Herrin recently posted his "James Stewart" 450 up for sale. I wonder if the police lights are included.

What it really comes down to is this: when the season began with a Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki sweep at Anaheim, there were talks of a weak field out west. But as the series went on, a new crop of riders found their rhythm and stepped up, including Tomac, Seely, Cunningham, and the Vegas race winner, Roczen. What started out looking like a shallow field turned into one of the deepest packs we’ve ever seen heading into a final round, and the spoilers were fast enough to battle the title contenders and play a major factor in the championship. With this much talent coming through the ranks, expect more great races like the one we saw in Las Vegas.

Well I just got through watching the last round and what a race and what a season.

Firstly, I love that Las Vegas track. Fast and brutal. I wish I could rail the fast turns like that. Not that my KTM 690 R is meant for that type of riding but just once I would love to feel like I was going that hard.

RV, well done man. Totally deserves it and it has been a pleasure watching him since his first race in the pro's. I was immediately a fan.

I know you guys don't like Chad Reed but come on he started his own privateer team just before the season start and finishes up 4 points of the greatest team in the sport with a rider like RV. Bloody top effort in my books.

Stewart, well what can you say? He just does not have the mental capacity to fulfil his potential. I have no doubt that he will continue to throw away championships year after year. Just as in MotoGP the depth of the young guys coming through will shrink his speed advantage and he will surely look back at the championships that should have been.

Dungy finished about where he deserves in my books. He doesn't have the personality to win hard championships. The talent is there but the mongrel is not.

I hope that in the next couple of years I can make it to the US for a AMA SX Round and soak it all up with you guys. Until then...... bring on the outdoors!

Will be seeing the 'outdoors' my self in 3 weeks time. Heading off on a 6000k ride through some of the most remote country/desert in the world - The Australian Outback and Red Centre. I will be riding from Darwin to Brisbane with my Brother. The trip is completely unsupported so carrying all food and camping equipment and some sections huge amounts of fuel. Will post up a thread with heaps of photos, vids and stories when I return.

MA....I will give credit where credit is due for Reed, top effort for sure. I don't have to like the guy, but he sure took lemons and made lemonade this year.

Outdoor series looks to be just as exciting as SX. Stewart hasn't confirmed yet, but he may run the first 4 races, which will be interesting as Vilopoto will be a little more in his comfort zone. You got Pourcel back and Canard to follow shortly there after....all I can say is both classes will be interesting to watch!

Dude, you and your brother had better take lots of pics, I want to see them! Visiting Australia is actually on my bucket list. Good luck on that epic ride.
