2011 sx season

I would love to take the bet but there are too many questions that the first race will answer. I hate to back down but if we see the chad reed that started the first two races last year than I would take that bet instantly. I have no clue what Reed will do. He wasn't competitive when he came back for the last few races but how much was that due to his conditioning and rehab? How good is his new bike and how long will it take him to gel with it? I know Dungey and Villo are defenitely 100% ready so they have no excuses and should be on the podium immediatelly.

If Reed is competitive tonight than I will take the bet if it's still on the table.

My predictions

1) Stewart He's still the fastest man on the planet and he's got a lot to prove.

2) Villo

3)Golden Boy Dungey

4)Canard

5)Windham

6)CHAD ....... REED ROCKIN 6thPLACE BABY

Dungeys been a bad ... on the starts and this is what kills Villo. Can't wait to see who's going to get the holeshot.

I havn't been this exicted to see a race since Spies last round in wsbk. Its going to kill me but I won't get to see it live. I stupidly accepted an invite for dinner not realizing NFL playoffs and SX were on.

Let's get it on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, hellva race last night. Can't wait to get Jum's report. RV was the man last night but he has one problem for the remainder of the season.....James Stewart! Damn Bubba picked up right where he left off last year and was blazing fast.

Now we will have to see if the nerves and rust RV knocked off last night will give him confidence to compete at every race from here on out. I think he can do it, and once he got into the lead last night he looked comfortable and just maintained his gap to Dungey.

Dungey looked great as well as Canard.

Tedesco was being a tool last night!

The 2011 season has started and looks to be a corker!

I originally felt that villo would be good enough for 2nd place but I got to thinking that maybe being a fanboy blinded me to the reality that he probabaly needed a race under his belt to mentally heal. What we saw was the same villo as the end of last year. He got the start he needed and never looked back. I'm impressed with his mental toughness. Dungey looked just like I thought he would. The third best rider on the track. Stewarts a lot like rossi where if you ever start to doubt his talent or motivations they will quickly remind you that you were dead wrong. He's defenitely the man to beat this year. I think its going to be between him and villo this year. Reed is done. Just listening to him pre race was pathetic. How many times do we have to hear how your the wily vet who is unfazed by pressure and the kids are the ones feeling it. ......... He's the one that needs to prove he can win a title against some real competitors. Why the hell did he even leave a factory team anyway. Stick a fork in him. Jumkie was right and I'm glad I didn't take the bet. I have to get up to speed with the lites class. I didn't recognize hardly anyone. How about hansen the lites winner thank jesus christ. Wtf going on in SX now. Is christnard recruiting disciples?

well 1st race lived up to my expectations. with the exception on villapotto finishing 1st, i thought 2nd behind dungey was were he would finish, the top guy's all finished were i expected.... well i thought canard would finish behind reed. looks to be the season that we all were expecting is gonna pan out! i'm gonna change my prediction for this years champ... barring any major mishaps stewart is gonna take the title. if not for the bad start he woulda won.... easily methinks
<
he's lookin like the bubba of old! rd & rv will be scrapin for runner up... chadwick needs more time to settle in with his new... well everything & canard will have an impressive rookie season... but he's not quite up with the..... aliens!

Phoenix....who ya got?

450

1. Stewart

2. Villopoto (very close 2nd I may add)

3. Dungey or Canard

250

1. Hansen

2. Tickle or Rattray

3.?????

Well I think Mr. Villopoto showed us something in Arizona....too bad he took a spill because I think he was getting ready to put more pressure on Stewart.

Good race, I think other than Dungey not being up front your looking at your players for the championship this year in Stewart and Villopoto with Canard, Dungey, and Jumkies fav rider Reed battling for the 3rd.

I think with that slippery track Stewart and Villo were happy to get out of there without crashing. They were both giving less than 100% in hopes for the other to make a mistake. This was not the track to battle it out. I'm just glad neither crashed because I really want this championship to be won on the track.

Great race until RV's crash.

So is Stewart running TC? Wasn't too happy about Erin's question on it?

Yea, good racing for sure?

Stewart and TC, don't know, listening to his bike during the race I didn't hear any cutting out, but maybe it's a different type of TC system? For TC system don't you need a front wheel sensor? Also, TC on a MX bike would be difficult being that it has to power thru the whoop sections etc....most likely this is a data logger system and the JGR guys need to chill out with the speculation.

I'm happy to see we've added another member to the SX thread. It seems this thread is only reserved for the upper echelon of the forum.

What a great race and for a moment there I thought Villo would start attempting a pass...right at the moment he crashed. I think James didn't look as spectacular as his old self seeing Villo shadowing him like that, its a rear sight to see anybody keeping up with Stewart. JohnnyK mentioned the track and possibly being slippery, perhaps this was the reason both were being tentative? Not sure, but for sure they didn't seem they were either charging the corners. Maybe they are now both aware that crashing is a sure way to end ones season?

So, congrats to James, he wasn't as fast as I'm use too, but then again, he still won and I'm sure he still has a bit of cobwebs left in the system. Congrats to Villo, this should be a big confidence boost, as shadowing James is something I don't think I've seen anybody done for as many laps. Kudos to Canard, he's for real. Kudos to Dungey, he is showing that he was not a fluke champion, yeah he didn't podium, but he was there, and would have beat read had it not been for that unfortunate pile up (not his fault). Oh, and .... Reed. Looks and sounds like .... as always.

Ok, about the TC question. I'm a Bubba fan, but his response was worse than bush league. C'mon James, get your head out of ... when asked questions that you should know are coming. Erin wasn't trashing your win, she was just asking what everybody was wondering, is TC the next step in MX. "I think you saw a piece of dirt or something." WTF kinda response is that?
<

Oh, and go team Jesus. He's managed to put two wins together in Lites and two podiums with Canard.

If Villow and Stewart continue improving, absent any crashes or injuries, will turn out to be an epic season, one for the record books (I hope I just didn't jinx it.)

Had a lot of respect for RV since his first race in the Pro's. Loved his battles against Alessi in the lites. Kinda reminds me of the Stoner v Rossi battles. RV like Stoner i.e had to fight his way to be there and Alessi like Rossi i.e silver platter.

Respect Dungy to, except for the whole Jesus thing. What is it with these SX riders and myths?

I really hope that TC doesn't enter into MX & SX. If it does say good bye to the non factory teams. The fact that MX & SX is so rider orientated rather than machinery orientated surely it is inevitable that a manufacturer will look to gain a machinery advantage.

Glad you are a Bubba fan as it gives me the chance to debate with you as I am not and we see eye to eye on most things MotoGP so there is some potential here for some fun!! Did I mention how fragile your boy is? Maybe he could borrow Lorenzo's air bag suit so he doesn't get hurt when he falls in the dirt! No doubt they will let him run TC also as the sport is totally geared around him!
